    Thank you so much for this video! Henry stopped working and we thought it might be the switch. So we replaced it. then we thought it might be the plug. So we replaced it. Then we thought it might be the cable, but I watched your video and checked the carbon brushes and they were burned down to the nub! Ordering new ones today and looking forward to a healthy hoovering Henry again! You did a great job explaining things - especially the symptom if the brushes are worn! That was our clue because he was running intermittently, turning on and off by himself and we just couldn't figure that part out. Thanks again!

      Hi Patrick, thanks for your comment here. We really hope that the replacement of the carbon brushes is the answer to your Henry issue. Fingers crossed our video has helped to get your vacuum up and running again!

    just retro fitted a motor to my mates henry, it was from a dyson dc01 ydk type. all i had to do was cut the spindle shaft that used to drive the brushroll off and its working like new again :) :) happy days

    Hi, where can I buy today a carbon brush part no. 220248 - without cartridge? The dimensions are 6 x 8 mm. The length of cooper with spring is 40 mm, so the total length of brush is about 60-65 mm before compression.

    would be good to see how to change the brushes on the motors where you only get the brush, and not the holder......

    I took my Henry apart and tried the the motor in the mains in its own as it was smoking at first once switched on quite an emmence amount of sparks comes from the top I haven't looked at the carbon brushes yet but does this sound like a new motor based on the small firework display once switched on?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  Před 9 lety

      +Craig Hardman Remove the carbon brushes and check that they have not worn down until they are just contacting the armature. This would cause burning and sparking as you describe.

    my numatic vacuum keeps on sparking and smoking after turning on what do u think might be the problem?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  Před 8 lety

      +Flying-Machine Check if the brushes are worn. If they are in good condition but the motor sparks or smells the motor may need replacing.

    I was just hoovering as normal and all a sudden it's just turned itself off. what could the problem be? thanks

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  Před 7 lety

      The most likely problem is the motor has overheated and cut out until it cools. It is important when a vacuum is running that you do not restrict air flow as the air flow cools the motor. IF you have a blockage, a full bag or the bag is blocked by dust or powder or if you use the hose directly onto a non breathable material it can cause the machine to overheat.

    my Henry after 10years suddenly switched off .I bought new brushes fitted them mounted all back and hover still not working, swapped 13amp fuse ,still nothing..whats wrong? motor,switches?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  Před 7 lety

      It is possible to be either due to the age of the Henry, check the switch first as this is the most likely.

    Hi my Henry works but the motor has a different sound from what it normally does. I have to stop using it incase it will damage the motor further

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  Před 7 lety

      Hi Hana, try disconnecting the hoses to see if the sound changes back to normal, if it does check for a blockage by carefully pushing a broom handle from the machine end along the hose. If it is no different check the motor brushes as these may be worn and see this video.

    My henry is too my 200A is not working on lo and not good

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  Před 10 lety

      Hi Marcus, if your motor does not run at all on low suspect the switch or the small PCB. If the performance is down replace the filters before suspecting a faulty motor.

    Is it normal for the henry to produce a smell after having new brushes fitted ?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  Před 9 lety +1

      +braceyuk If the brushes were worn and burnt the armature contacts it may spark a little but will usually clean up with wear. Alternatively dismantle and wipe any blackening of the armature using a fine grade abrasive paper. If it continues to spark significantly once cleaned the motor may be failing.

      Ok 1 more question...i have 5 henrys and im trying to fix the brushes in them all but iv only been able to fix the type u have in the video... with the other model where you just replace tge sping and brushes , what are you supposed to do take the old 1s out of the casing and try and put the new 1 with the spring in ?? Cos when i try that the bottom part where the spring connects to does not fit in ? Are you suppose to just bend the bottom part back or what ? I cant find any tutorial on fixing the other type..any help is much appreciated

      @eSpares  Před 9 lety

      +braceyuk There are a number of brushes available for 'Henry's' depending on motor type. Check out our brush range to see if we have one that matches directly at: www.espares.co.uk/search?SearchTerm=henry%20carbon
