Nice Video about Amsterdam, well explained. I have been to Amsterdam city probably 7 to 8 times as I did my higher studies in The Netherlands, then came to live in Belgium. Amsterdam is generally expensive city , especially Hotels. Last year I bought a 4 days public transport ticket to use it limitless to go around the city. Also I took a hotel near Van Gogh museum , which was reasonable price . As years passed by I have noticed that Amsterdam's sex shops , Red light areas have decreased in numbers.....same as here in Belgium. There were more clubs, cafés, pubs, discotheques in the early 2000's!

Nice video... A weekend is enough to explore Amsterdam for the first time?
Two full days is more than sufficient to explore Amsterdam unless you are a party guy.
Very useful video. Is it safe to go there as female solo traveller ? Also planning the tulipflower garden, zaanse schans and Amsterdam city explore. Would 2 days be enough?

Amsterdam, whole of The Netherlands is absolutely safe for female solo traveller. There are even mixed Hostels where both male and female travellers share dormitories. But even then, for any travellers, male or female, it is always good to be alert, try not to end up at wrong place at wrong time!
How accessible is Holiday inn south from AMS airport ? Planning trip in May ! Also did you visit the Hague and Rotterdam
a direct train from the airport to Amsterdam south followed by a tram connection. You shall reach under 30 minutes.

Amsterdam Schipol Airport is well connected to Amsterdam central. From Central station on... there is excellent tram network/ connections throughout Amsterdam. Last year when I stayed 3 nights at Amsterdam, I bought a 4 day limitless public transport ticket. Used trams to go everywhere, day and night. Even in buses, public transport boats it was valid. Dont forget to check in and out your ticket when you get in any public transport. Amsterdam is generally expensive city, especially Hotels. If you book in advance, you could get a good price. Ibis, Easy Hotels are few of the cheapest in central area. Enjoy your trip in May!

It was very annoying to check in and checkout from bus and tram everytime..
I was in Amsterdam last October and while traveling with a day ticket once forgot to checkout while getting down and was worried if I would be allowed to check in the next time I board.. Fortunately there was no issue and it worked..

Yes, annoying the check in and check out system! One can understand checking in...but why while getting off the tram or bus! It is same at train stations

Is it easy to rent car from Schipol airport or take public transport? Also is it easy to park rental cars there ? We have only 24 hr transit there - Thanks
renting and parking cars can be expensive. Public transportation, on the other hand, is well connected, affordable, fast, reliable and of course environment friendly
I would advice you to use public transport in Amsterdam from Schipol airport, as parking in Amsterdam is very expensive, and finding a place to park is like winning a lottery!!
