- Here boys we got a classic short to ground that's supposed to happen but only when the key is in or when the lights are on. All we have to do is get a new key in switch and fix her back up. Thanks broski's

Big thank you for the detailed explanation.
Good video, funny how something so small can case a problem thinking its a big problem. Thanks
Had something similar on my winter beater 96 Buick, but warning switch was sticking thus indicating key in ignition when key was out so remote door locks would not work. Ignition cylinder removal was a bigger job on Buick with removing air bag, steering wheel and turn signal switch in order to get cylinder out. Thanks for posting your video. I have a buddy with 3 of those vans! This may come in handy one day!
Glad we found find this channel !
Awesome, stay tuned every Friday new videos!!!!!!
The rubber gloves were for no finger prints. Haha nice fix broski
Lololol
So where exactly is the chime box located on these vans (and 12th Gen F-150s)? I'm actually gonna see if I can jerry rig it to my 94 F-150.
I’ve got a 2017 f250 Harley Davidson key chime won’t shut off and radio stays on found corrosion at right side fuse panel corroded and electrical connector full of water replaced fuse panel and blew water out of connector put dielectric grease cured problem for about twenty minutes and started doing the same thing again if u could give me a place else to look water definitely coming in on the right side of truck
Looks like the right fix for our Winnebago that sits on 2018 F450. I found a small, very small, brown plastic clip inside the ignition key cylinder that had broke off. I put the switch back in place and the chime stopped but I suspect it will fall out of place again. Is there any reason why I can't hot glue it in place so it will stay? The manufacturer just uses what ever is the fastest/easiest during assembly. Thanks for the tip, this was a tough one.
The clip broke off that holds it in place...i assume you could
My chime started going off when I turned on the headlights. Will this ignition cylinder replacement and reattach ground wire fix that?
No
so did you have to solder on a new ground pig tail or what was the fix
Clockspring, customer wanted me to just splice that piece in
Where did you get this part and what is it called?
The dealer, it is the pats ring that goes around the ignition cylinder
I Just tell people that's the reminder chime that there payment on their vehicle is coming due soon....lol
Lolol thats a good 1!
I purposely leave that out & isolate it from ground on my 05 F350 so I don't get the annoying key ding. The only side effect is the code it throws but no MIL.
There ya go shld b it
What is the name of that little switch?? I broke mine and I cant seem to find a replacement?
Part of the clock spring
what is the end of the ground wire called, the teeth broke on mine and not sure if it will stay in place. can i just replace that piece?
No part of the clock spring
How to disarm the chiming for the RSC warning in 2006 Ford e350 super duty van please?
Not sure for that budd
Ok thanks
We got a 2006 E250. Got over 400k on it with nearly no maintenance on it. It’s our work truck. Every light and warning comes off and on, more often on than off. Any suggestions on how to turn off the sound. The truck also has completely shut off while driving, we just drop it into neutral and restart it lol
I dont think any of.my suggestions will suffice
I battled with my own 1989 Plymouth Acclaim where the chime would start dinging randomly. Turns out it was the module itself didnt like the cold. Once it warmed up it would stop. THe car no longer has a chime module
Lol good
How often, if ever, do you use a topside creeper? Or something similar.
Ehhhh....depends on the job. Few times a year maybe more...
How can I get in contact with you!?
Go to my channel on your phone and request the desktop version, under my channel art you'll see the heading "about" click on about and private message me
@Arod, I figured xertified was talking to you. But if they aren't... I cannot be contacted. I live in a tree in wonderland with the White rabbit next door. It's a rather odd thing living in wonderland. Ever so often we get Peter pan knocking on the door late at night drunk wondering why were are in his tree house. Every time I've got to remind him that this is wonderland not neverland. Kids these days. 😥
Peter pans tree house.....you mean the keebler elfs. Mother hubbard left that out of the fairy tail. Those keebler elfs kicked him out in 1492, get it right!
Can I just take it off?
this is an issue i saw a lot in a fleet of 80 econolines. You might as well put ball joints and tie rod ends in it while its there. LOL
Yepp no lie!!!
have you heard of putting 250 ball joints on a 150 to extend the life of them? We never did it but a Ford guy claimed he did it all the time.
Naw never heard of that trick
he was probably talking out his ass. LOL Didn't think that would work
HAHA
Do all the keys on the ring cause any harm?
Yea mostly on the newer vehicles, to much weight on them. Have had it happen to some SD's tho too...
Forgot to tell you the item was shipped out Friday.
Thats awesome, thanks so much!!!
So now I can steal a ford lol.
Still got the column lock tho..
Zip ties n bias plies walks you through how to steal one with a screwdriver
@@alexthompson9803 no shit?? Lol, I'm about to go and check him out. I'm having troubles stealing my ex wife's husband's 98.5 12 valve...
Why not leave it off with wire nut off and lose the sound I hate
First?
Oh yeah this is a good one!
