  • In this video, I'll show you how to silence that annoying door chime on your Ford Ranger. Also if you have a mysterious 5-beep alert from your dash, that could mean your airbag indicator bulb has burnt out. I'll show you how to fix that too. Also.. updates on my last aftermarket horn.

    For anyone who wants to know, the door chime as well as the air bag 5x5 alarm both come from the same speaker. So by removing the speaker in the video, you will no longer have the air bag alarm going off when you first start your car. They do NOT come from two separate speaks👍

    • @rayregnogarage
      @rayregnogarage  Před rokem +3

      Depends on the truck. If you have a newer one, it may be the same speaker. Mine were separate speakers. I pulled this speaker and the airbag bulb from the dash. Even without this speaker, the airbag speaker would not turn off unless I put the airbag bulb back in

  • @chiefofcontrol
    @chiefofcontrol Před rokem +2

    Thanks for the tip about the airbag! I will tell you there is an easier way to get rid of the door chime: it is caused by your key being in the ignition, as you probably know. All you have to do is turn the key to on, press an ice pick or awl into the hole under the steering column to access the push detent on the ignition switch, and pull out the key. The ignition switch will come to. Then remove the little metal contactor on the side of the ignition switch. Reinsert the ignition switch and turn the key all the way back to reverse to reset the detent.... no more ding ding. I used to have a van that I always wanted to keep the key in so I didn't have to keep pulling the keys out of my pocket. I kept the fob in my pocket, and the key in the ignition. Of course now, nobody has keys anymore!😂

    I found out on my 2006 Ford ranger that that annoying dinger is mounted to the gauge cluster. So in order to quiet that thing you have to remove the gauge cluster and then once you get it out you have to remove the cover over the back of the cluster and then you will see all of the circuit board. Then you will see a black cylinder looking thing about the diameter of a quarter and about 1/2 inch thick. You can just pry that bugger off and wala, no more annoying beep, beep!! Hope this helps someone out there!!

The video I'm making is just gonna show you how to quick and dirty align your truck so it's good enough to get you home or to the shop to get it aligned. So like for example if you break something on the trail and you need to replace a tie rod on the trail and need to get home. I'm gonna do a full refresh on all my ball joints and steering so I'm gonna get my truck aligned eventually..
