Its so interesting to see how other places to fecal flotations. We use sodium nitrate for most of our samples, depending on what parasites we are looking for. We stick it in the centrifuge for ten minutes, top it off with more sodium nitrate or other flotation solution, place the slide, and wait another ten minutes before analyzing the slide under the microscope. Pretty much the same thing with subtle differences. I wear gloves every time because all the zoonotic parasites make me nervous. I once had a nightmare that I somehow swallowed Baylisascaris procyonis and had I woke up and saw a worm in my eye in the mirror and had to have it amputated. It was crazy.

Appears she was neither taught cleanliness at home or at school. It's a bad reflection on TEXAS A&M. Many helminthes (parasites) enter the human body thru the skin. Hookworm being just one of them. How ironic this all is. Spillage too. I won't be going over to her house for dinner any time soon. WEAR GLOVES 100% OF THE TIME GIRL. I DONT KNOW IF I WANNA SMACK YOU OR HURL. Gloves are a preference I mean you wash you wash your hands after. And if you can't work with animal feces then maybe you picked the wrong field unless your not going for any type of vet then it's not your concern.

The Universitys policy for handling feces is "gloves are optional"....... Woohooo I can feel the lawsuit now!! Are all Texans filthy? Here in So Cal we like EVERYTHING squeaky clean. We all wear nitrile gloves when we prepare food EVERY TIME. Clean is the only way to be. What does your bathroom look like? Eww
