I agree. Maybe it was a licensing issue that they couldn't get a hold of the game music. Specially in the first movie where green hill zone would have been nice to hear at the start.

I was honestly expecting “unknown from M.E.” was actually gonna play upon Knuckles and Sonic’s first meet, imagine that that theme playing the moment Knuckles jumps into the frame with a right hook ready to swing, woulda sent chills down my spine.

I love Open Your Heart, but in terms of the song for that scene, the lyrics sadly don't fit it all that much. Personally I think His World or With Me would actually be a much better fit for that scene. However I am a little disappointed they are skipping directly to Shadow for Sonic 3. Seeing a cinematic fight with Perfect Chaos would have been epic.

@@lleon965 One thing I like about this fan edit in particular is the way it blends the movie's soundtrack into the beginning of the game theme. Something about that part just hits _right,_ though that might be partly due to Jim Carrey's excellent delivery on his threat in the beginning of the clip, as well as some of the editing to get parts of the movie to line up with the music. This fan edit is just really well-done.

What pissed me off is that the "drowning theme" didn't play when Sonic saved Knuckles underwater.
No it did, well just for a little bit. You can hear it more clearly in the soundtrack of the movie. I'd say around at the end of the soundtrack.

If I dont see: Sonic Finds a Capsule Where Shadow was, Sonic and Shadow Meet for the first time, Sonic And Shadow Fight, Chaos, Gerald Robotnik, Perfect Chaos, Open Your Heart, Super Sonic and Shadow, Super Sonic and Shadow Fight, Maria, His World, Silver and Blaze At The End Credits, and Cream and Cheese, Then I dont wanna see this movie. (No Im Joking, Im watching it either way)

I love edits like this, however as an og sonic fanboy, i have yet to see any edits that include genesis music, especially for this movie.
I guess it's just because it would be extra jarring given the sound quality.
@@superplushroompower-up sonic 1 and 2 genesis music is on spotify and the quality is wicked, the actual composer released the music on a full album not to long ago, so it wouldnt be a quality issue.

I agree. Also, as amazing Open Your Heart is, I don’t think it should be in this ending. It would awesome and satisfying as fuck to see Super Sonic with it but it doesn’t fit thematically and in terms of the games; Sonic 2 is based off of 2 and 3&k of the games while Open your Heart is from Adventure which the movie is not pulling from. I still want one of the big finale songs to play with super Sonic in the next movie tho

I think this video shows just how different the movies are from the games. "It doesn't matter" sounds like a different character's theme song than the guy I see on screen, and so on with knuckles' theme, etc.
This movie really suffered from its dialogue, but this music really enhances it.

i need at least one scene with sonic, knuckles, and tails using eachother's strengths in some badass way with fist bump playing in the back ground. forces may have not been the best game to a ton of people but fist bump is one of the best songs through the whole franchise imo. it holds so much power and just fits perfectly.

the sonic heroes theme is unironically one favorite songs in the genre. i remember playing all of the wii spinoff sonic games and absolutely jamming out to the song while snowboarding down the golden gate bridge in M&S at the Winter Olympics or blowing up my brother in Sonic/Sega All Stars Racing

It is a missed opportunity indeed. Some scenes were perfect for musical easter eggs. But now they can't miss it again in Sonic3: it's impossible to make a movie based on Sonic Adventure 2 and forget its main theme "Live & Learn"!
