I release new episodes Saturday's at 5pm (Toronto time) and Painting with Commentary episodes the Tuesday after. Follow me on Instagram for a sneak peak of my work in progress for upcoming episodes: painttolife
About GM Atank: I've been Dungeon Mastering since High School (over 25 years ago), and in the summer of 2019 began actually painting the miniatures I'd been collecting for all these years (and I have just graduated past the potato level). I truly believe that everyone can do this, if they just gave it a try!
More than just painting however, I wanted to make a CZcams channel that also focuses on the story behind the subjects to share with D&D and Mini fans alike. That is how paint to life was born!
Support your local gaming stores and community! If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below, or email me at paint2life@gmail.com and I would be happy to answer them :)

Cool video. I’ve only had a dragon villain once in all the years I have been a DM. I’ve used them as NPCs a couple times, but never thought about using Draconic way back then. I may use it now if my players ever meet a dragon.
Thanks! But even if u don't, please don't just talk in regular English! =P. It's so unfulfilling ;)
the draconic language sounds like the strogg language with the deep sounding voice
That was a really fun thing :) it certainly would improve immersion for your players, and I am sure it's a hell of a lot of fun practicing the pronounciation :)
good tips - keep 'em coming!
It's different, but I think it's pretty epic when all put together.
This is a really good tutorial on how to speak draconic! I'm currently into Tyranny of Dragons, and I'll definitely give this a try and surprise my players
Awesome to hear! It's great when I see people taking advantage of my channel for their own stories/games! Thank you
Thanks for the help. I was wondering how the language would sounds like and not only did I get an answer I got to see your awesome paint jobs. Keep up the good work.
Awesome. So glad that was up your alley! Thanks for watching!
I am so glad to have found this video! Every other video only talked about the language and not how it can be spoken or translated! So excited to use this for the campaign I’m a part of!
Awesome, glad to know people are getting use of it! Thanks for watching!
I really like this, Im going to practice my draconic! Keep up with videos!
Thank you Katie! I'm glad you liked it
EMBRACE YOUR INNER NERD!!!!!! I love it. I currently run a Dragonborn Wizard. I'm learning Draconic to enhance the role playing experience.
For sure!
Fantastic as always
You honour me sir.
Liked the star trek add in.
Learning a new language is always a plus 👍
I thing the next time I get pulled over by a cop, I'll have to use draconic!
Looking forward to seeing the new dragon paint video. Love that fat dragon, I can relate to it ☺️.
Very cool that Mrs. ATANK supports you and helps you with these videos.
Awesome, thanks! New painting video will be out Tuesday!
Great lesson, man! Keep it up! Cheers from Brazil!
Thanks, will do! Vinxa!!!
This is underrated, it is incredibly helpful
Thanks a ton Toby! Yeah I've been unable to break the CZcams algorithm mysteries for paint to life episodes. :/
Booo! :)
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tips! I’m working on a Singing Synthesis project which involves some languages from DND so this helps a lot for Draconic!
Wicked, glad to hear it. Thanks for watching.
The last one with the magma dragon is exactly how I envisioned my dragons to speak. I do have a question though is wyrm speech different from regular draconic?
Great Jen, you just summoned Cthulhu. Good job.
Did I really?? It didn't occur to me to ask what I said 😂
This is need, in the campaign that I’m in my character got turned into a crystal hatchling. So this might be helpful
Great video! The dragon was awesome! #loot
Lewt Lewt Lewt. Thx for watching alex
I use Dovahzul the Dragon language from Skyrim
Yeah Skyrim is amazing! FUUS ROH DAH! =P. Still get chills! Is there a translator or book out there for Dovahzul??
I don't often run games, but these are still great tips to keep in mind!
Glad to hear it! May be doing more "HOW TO SPEAK" videos this year too!
Ive going to share this vid with my dragonborn party member and my dm. That way hed know what me and my dragonborn will be whispering to each other
Awesome! I hope it helps you out!
Thanks, I've always thought of how to speak draconic
I hope you give it a try at your table :D
When you're watching a video about some dude teaching you how to speak Draconic and his pronounciation sounds German.
No hard feelings, was just hard to ignore as a German myself
I know I'm a little late to the comment party, but this is really helpful for my Dragonborn character! Thank you!
That makes me happy to hear!
Even later, it's the same deal, but it's my dragonborn convincing a blue ancient dragon to give up her power to aid the party for the sake of saving the planet.
This gonna be good.
I always imagined it came from the chest and to try to speak it with opening and closing my mouth with every other syllable since well those who speak this language dont have cheeks
So learning gold wave now so I can mess with my players.
Absolutely ;) good luck!
Neat
Isn’t there a non-magical book (it only costs 10gp) mentioned in Waterdeep that allows one to learn Draconic on their own as if they had a tutor?
Ioth Darastrix, Fintir Vemcini, Bahamut
How do you know if you specking the words right if there is no one specking the language back to you? Would help if someone would put a list of words up and speck them in Dragoon so people can get a understanding of how to say it...
Best thing to do is write out some common phrases and just wing it from there. To actually learn 2 way language would be impressive to say the least, and not something my players would ever do :D
Jk You're awesome dude keep it up
Will try! ;) thanks m8
I always use dovahzul as a substitute
Ah yes Dovakhin. And there is also alot of example specimens to hear!
Wux tepoha authot algbo moxt ir. Si geou origato wux waph... ihk jaka!
Excellent- I want to hear you say it out loud when next we meet :)
I just use my generic demon growly voice. Lol
Well it's better than my street voice, to be sure!
Half dragon rupin, slips into draconic as offten az he speaks commen, welp hope my dm likes this
Awesome! Inspiration to you!
@@GMAtank thanks, may the algorithm smile on you
@@akimbofurry2179 thank you kindly
Is draconic in D&D the same as Elder Scrolls draconic?
Hello! No I don't believe they are the same.
FUS ROH DAH! :)
What is stopping from draconic becoming a real language like Klingon
Probably just not enough Dragonborn people out there :D
Thanks for watching!
One idea I had about how draconic is to pronounce each vowel separately like in Hawaiian so that the word for lair (duil) sounds more like do-eel rather than duel
That's a good way to interpret it. I imagine if there were different pronunciations it would sound like regional accents. Very cool. Main point is to speak (whatever you say) with confidence- and it's a sure thing to sound legit :D
What is paint even?!
I can't even!?
Nah bruv 😂listen if I saw a dragon and he said it like that whooo body I'd find it hard to not laugh then perhaps my character dies from a draconian smack lol
