I bet most of you haven’t had a Citaro redline at all like this let alone constantly at every pull off possible. Neither had I before this, so there’s a first time for everything!
Enjoy what could be one of the most interesting Citaro videos I have ever produced in this edition of #KickdownGalore!
This bus was working the River Rapids X39: Reading, Station Road (Stop SB) - Oxford, Westgate (Stop E3) via Ipsden, avoiding Woodcote

Bloody hellfire, especially with that whine from the engine!

Weirdly I didn't start properly appreciating this one until 3 years after upload! I love the revs and gear holds in this one!

Great vid! Did the bus have an unusually high rev limit or was it the driver pumping it? Can’t tell!

Bit of an audio/visual corruption at around 3:10 but other than that this is a brilliant video, never expected one of these to redline so much!

Not sure if that’s the audio or the bus, it has a fucked roof hatch for most of the video. I mean it’s Thames travel, this can’t come as a shock to you surely? 🤣
Anyway, thank you! I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed this! I can’t say I’ve found many Citaros redlined on CZcams!

@Em West When did you go on 862? 🤔

Oh right. In what condition did it sound? Healthy? Utterly fucked?

@Em West Several GSC Citaros used to as well, so definitely a Citaro thing.

Sounds like either excess compressed air being dumped or completion of the DPF regeneration process.
