Same here. It’s boring now in comparison
Great footage of a great bus 😁. I'd love to get down to this event in the future
Thank you! You really should, good selection of buses and a few of them tend to have ledfoot drivers too! I’m not sure if you’re bothered about the social aspect of things but it’s good for that too. Every time I go I’m always coming across veg that have been fans of my channel for years, some for the first time - some once more! I also meet others who I’d never even heard of before such as Denzel’s World and likewise have never heard of me until then

They look nice 😊. I think a trip to High Wycombe is in order. I love that whine in the gearbox on these - not the same in 2010 and newer models!
I think so too! And that’s because they are nice. Although I wouldn’t expect them to be frequently driven fast, Bucks bus drivers don’t tend to be fast at all I love the ZF whines too, they really remind me of many Euro 3 Tridents I knew and loved! I’m not sure why it’s different in Euro 5 E40Ds (some of which are 09 and 59 plate by the way) - possibly an age thing as they start getting more worn out? Definitely some are Ecolife (which don’t do it at all), I’m sure some are Ecomat too. Not quite sure what’s going on there
I forgot how nice this was. Was down at aylesbury for a joy ride sat next to arriva citaro... speaking of they are getting scrapped
No the 12 reg are not getting scrapped. They’re mid life. Although personally I’m not convinced, I have heard a rumour that Wycombe and Aylesbury 12 reg will go to Redcar to replace Temsa Avenues (with a swap for Pulsars and Scanias between Redcar and Derby at the same time) There are however two 58 plates left roaming around, one at each depot. I would expect those and the ex MK -Blyatinum- 59 plates at Wycombe to go to scrap
@@ChilternTransportProductions I've been told that they are being scrapped with probably a few remaining. The pulsars to go up north and the 58s and 59 to be scrapped.. further that i think the e400s will probs go to milton Keynes to and Luton. And the g1 daf to be sent back up to derby.?
Right, so you’re trying to tell me that 12 reg Citaros would be scrapped before E300s and Euro 4 Pulsars, you question if the DB250 will return to a city it’s never served in. And you don’t even concretely know where the E400s might go??? I think you’ve been fed some right codswallop mate. The only thing truly believable is that the 58 and 59 plate Citaros will be scrapped because they’re in such a state and most are already gone anyway. You didn’t say where up north those Pulsars would go, and if that includes the 3 YJ57s or not! I highly doubt it
@@ChilternTransportProductions idk yet but everything still a speculation but for what ik the citaros will not have a permanant place so.

Good job capturing this iconic bus, this is very reminiscent of the 3-speed Y-TOH Tridents that used to run on the X70 around 8 years ago. There is quite a charm about these 3-speed voiths, they are one of the best sounding buses around imo.
Thank you! I only just found an old video of 4176 doing X70 in 2018 yesterday - I didn’t even know about those workings until then! I was doing my first Birmingham bashes that year, I wish I knew about it at the time!!! And I agree with you about the 3-speeders, they tend to be beefier and bassier than the newer 4-speeders. Hence why I made sure to do Metroline TPL264 again at Lowish Floor Running Day last week, although I wish I clocked 4-speed TP417 before I ended the day as I’d have liked that too!
You should come try the last two VDL DB250 geminis at leicester 4761 and 4760!
I’m amazed they’re still going, I thought they’re all gone! What do they work?
@@ChilternTransportProductions Mostly the 127s to Shepshed but sometimes they’re on the 104 and just any route arriva put them on haha
127 is ok, much prefer that to 104. 5 is what I’d like that as I very much doubt 49, 153, X3 or X84 will ever happen. Maybe if I’m really lucky one might get loaned to Hinckley again for 158
This was the other I managed the day I finally caught sight of these beasts, on the 66 back in February and the gearbox was slipping by then. Haven’t published the video as it wasn’t the best run but maybe I will in future 🤔 Good to see how it used to sound, all round hellfire like 1993 was on the Activ8! And whilst I’m here, I’ve heard 1997 is due to be preserved all being well :)
You should still upload that video regardless as it’s historical documentation at the end of the day. What a shame 1994 deteriorated towards the end… Yes they were all great, reasonably similar apart from 1997 which was special as you’ll have seen. Great to hear that’s the one that’s been chosen for preservation! I still need to catch up with your video of 1993!
Good point, I will do eventually! I think you’ll like 1993, good sounding ZF and kickdown, less than healthy sounding differential but it added to the video nicely I think!
It does sound like something I’d enjoy! And Activ8 is a great route for thrash and kickdown - I never got any kickdown from HW52s on that route, so that’s something I need to see 👀
IT SOUNDS BRILLIANT.. its a shame their withdrawn 😢
It does doesn’t it!

Ace Clip! There certainly isn't many DB250s left at all. In the North there was an ex Blackpool example with Cumbria Classic Coaches (who have some spectacular routes) although unfortunately was withdrawn, and replaced by an ex First 2005 Scania OmniDekka...
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed this! It’s a shame the Cumbrian one is gone, I was hoping to go for it sometime but I didn’t know how I’d get it as I know very little about the company. On the flip side it is good to see those SN05s find so many new buyers, some of them seemed quite decent! And I could certainly think of worse replacements for DB250s than an N94UD
@@ChilternTransportProductions They are certainly worth a try, they also have a 2006 Dennis Dart which you may also enjoy, but try & get it on the 106 (Penrith - Kendal) as their other routes (572 especially) get a full bus load & that's with a duplicate running behind aswell. They are a very friendly & welcoming company...
@centraltransportproductions I don’t enjoy 4 pot Darts of any kind, that’s why you’ve never seen one at all on my channel. Have you never wondered that before?
@@ChilternTransportProductions Well. Surely a 4 Pot Dart would be more worth a video than a typical E400MMC for instance. You don't have to do a backseat video of it, there's always the 'Windscreen View' series that you were doing previously... But at the end of the day, it's completely up to you, was only a suggestion.
Not to be that guy but this is 4626, I can tell from the distinctive axle sound. 4624 was withdrawn a while back with arson damage
Oh shit, I hadn’t clocked that! Wasn’t aware of it I had to go all the way back to 2018 to find the latest pics of 4624 on Flickr and they were all on Birmingham Central routes, none were Yardley Wood. Not sure how I got the number wrong, maybe I misread it since it’s down as 4624 in my haulage list. Good thing your local knowledge has identified which one it actually is! Thank you for pointing this out to me, I’ll correct the title now
I’ve added a note about it in the description, adding in date of withdrawal and disposal after checking Tony Hunter’s excellent website
They are pretty rare nowadays but it’s like b9tl but louder
No it’s not the same, at least not with the way First set up the B7TLs and B9TLs. The B9TLs - count yourself lucky if they ever have any form of Topodyn mopping, Bath certainly is with their 12 reg as that is not the norm nationwide! B7TLs on the other hand quite often were kickdown enabled and had a fair chance of being used Unfortunately these older ones have become rare. I am particularly saddened to see the HW52 Presidents at Salisbury recently withdrawn, some of them were among the finest around! If you ever miss that B7TL fix, head up to Acocks Green, West Bromwich, Sutton Coldfield or Bromsgrove whilst you still can
Ah I couldn’t remember when I seemed one but when I was younger there used to be older buses that I can’t find anymore
Most are now withdrawn and many sent for scrap There are a few preserved including 32289, a few W-PAEs have been sold to Confidence Coaches in Leicester and one to Marshalls Coaches in Leighton Buzzard (not sure about the others). There’s a few ex London Gemini B7TLs from Bath still kicking about in Weymouth, now converted to open top. I don’t know what happened to them all though, I’m from Buckinghamshire and only started going to Bristol about 5-6 years ago
Does this mark the beginning of the end of Birmingham's Euro 3 fleet? Shame if it does because im glad they kept these and the B7TLs going for so long
I don’t think it’s the end of the Euro 3 era for Birmingham just yet if that’s what you mean. Yes it is the end for Yardley Wood’s Tridents as they’re due new BYD E400 deliveries but for now Acocks Green will still have their B7TLs going on 1, 72, Outer Circle, sometimes also 4s, 73 and other routes When you say Birmingham, do you only mean the area where Birmingham City Transport/Birmingham Corporation had their depots, or do you mean the entire West Midlands County including the Black Country?
Withdrawn sadly
I’m indifferent to this particular B7. I’m much more annoyed about the HW52 President ones in Salisbury being recently withdrawn, those were great!
Unrefurbished interior
Yes indeed it was
Newly refurbished strong motor
I don’t believe these had their traction motors refurbished. In any case they were being withdrawn at the time I filmed them (including this video), so it wouldn’t have been cost effective to do it then
Nothing beats tridents, all those people out there wanting and liking the new electric buses don’t know how good these tridents are 😊
Lovely, nice and clean train too. I wish all operators had this standard.
Would be nice yeah
Sounds knackered
great video mate! it was nice to meet you there
Good to meet you too!
I was there aswell sat next to @liberator23
Unfortunately I don’t remember you but I know there was someone there lol, as I was to his right. I also remember someone telling me the name of the person to my right but again, can’t remember who that was Anyway I’ll add you now
Nice to meet you!
Good to meet you too! Got a few new West Midlands channels to check out it seems!
Great video, you would have missed out if I never told you!
Very true, so thank you for telling me! And I’m glad you enjoyed watching this :)
It was nice to meet you mate!
Great to meet you too! I spoke to you as I was next to you on the right with my camcorder but I never revealed my channel name in person!

I like these buses but I think Abellio E400EVs will do better at the job 😎
How’s that then? They’re the exact same bus type, just different colours inside. All the same outside!
@@ChilternTransportProductions but they have future spec which are on the 63 they are super cool with high spec but these are just plain…
Ok yes they’ve got nicer interior with high back seats. I forgot about that as I personally have never seen them about in person. But otherwise they do the exact same job the exact same way, same performance and all The London United ones aren’t bad either, they’re perfectly comfortable for routes like the 94 with decent legroom, even for tall people
@@ChilternTransportProductions I guess let’s just say they are both good lol
@@OmarZamel-pv7ig That I agree with But nobody beats the Oxford Bus Company Electroliners though. They’ve got comfortable high back seats and best of all, ability to fast charge USB-C as well as old USB!
Nice sound effect 🎉🎉even in indian railways all local and Suburban trains have same sound effect
This isn’t a “sound effect” I edited in, this is exactly how the train sounds in real life

I know it is not sound effect it is real only what type of motor it is ??
U passed my local bus stop lol
It’s always nice to see your own area get some recognition
@@ChilternTransportProductions yes that’s really true. How’s CZcams life?
I’ve only just got back into it again since I lost interest in working on it for a number of months. Same goes for bashing in person as well, June is when I resumed that and filmed for the first time in 2024 I’ve still got DOE35 in Salisbury to edit amongst a few other old uploads lol
@@ChilternTransportProductions oh alright, nice to hear that your back 😃
