    ►More information:
    Emirates cabin crew can bid for their flights through the Emirates Portal and delineate a flight preference. Flights are awarded based on priority and seniority.
    Emirates divides all it's cabin crew into 7 groups. What group you're in reflects your level of priority for every month cycle.
    This allows every group to potentially get what they asked for.
    You can bid for a maximum of 5 flights and assign up to 5 levels of priority. Very high, high, medium, low, very low.
    Once you join the company, you'll learn which flights are hard to get and which flights nobody wants.
    Destinations have a higher competition depending on how beautiful the place is, how much money you get on the layover from Emirates, how beautiful the hotel is, ecc..
    If the hotel is crap, the money is little, the flight is terrible or the destination isn't as beautiful, the flight will have less competition and it'll be easier for you to get it if you bid for it.
    Based on what priority you assign to each flight, based on your group priority, based on competition for that flight and based on seniority, you might get the flights you bid for or not.
    Turnarounds are flights that don't require you to stay at the destination. Short flights within a 4 hour flight radius from Dubai, are treated as turnarounds since the crew can legally work for over 10 hours and a layover wouldn't make sense.
    A layover is the exact opposite, long flights above the 4 hour flight radius require the crew to rest at the destination for a minimum of 24 hours. The longer the flight and the longer rest you'll get.

    Thanks for another great video Orlando, appreciate your work😊! I do have a question though. If I speak the destination's (primary) language, do I get the flight more often without having to bid for it?

    • @WishCasting
      @WishCasting  Před 5 lety

      It depends! Not always you do. Some nationalities are rare (Swedish for example) so they fly more often home since they speak the language. Germans too. But for example Italians, some flights have no Italians on it. Meaning some countries (Italy in this case) don't need a mandatory amount of crew from that country.

    When we fly as a crew to home country on duty, which is a layover. Can I go directly to home without heading to the hotel? (If home is in the destinated city)
    I'm looking forward for your reply 🙂

      Considering Emirates crew can get these destinations every month it might start to be boring

  • @arisberriosfontecilla2395

    Thanks for the video! It does bother me that Emirates does not give proportionate sleep time according to the length of each flight. I mean, it should be one of your priorities if you want to keep a fresh team that's always ready to give their best in each flight.
    One question: what is the amount, or approximate amount of days off you get per month? I'll be waiting for the next video

    • @WishCasting
      @WishCasting  Před 5 lety

      Hi Aris! It bothers everyone! It's a real struggle! Even 3 days ago, the Emirates cabin crew held a forum with Emirates managers and the situation wasn't dealt with properly. The layovers are still the same and won't be changing for a really long time.
      Regarding days off you should be getting 8 per month or so. It varies. We have a video up explaining this. Check it out!

      Yea! Unbelievable but true! The hotel isn't nice at all and the area, even though is central, is full of local food and crazy traffic. Crew usually either don't bid for it or try to swap it off. You'll love it. We have a video of the time we went to Beijing in our travel guides! Check how cool the slide was from the Great wall of China down to the bottom! ☺️

    So, the steward sleeps completely 2 hours? Or is it just a 2 hours break, and the Stewart has to be in uniform again, within two hours?

    • @WishCasting
      @WishCasting  Před 4 měsíci

      Breaks depend on the length of the flight. The longer it is the longer the break. If the load of passengers is very low, the break can be increased depending on the pursers decision. That would be breaking protocol though. And anyways it would be a break that could be like 20 minutes longer, nothing really significant
