Take with a large pinch of salt, a dealers agenda will always be to buy low/sell high. He’s a businessman and not doing these videos for his health (obviously).
A real dealer like Charlie will tell you the truth, so you are s lifelong client.
I tend not to trust guys who wear a shirt one size too small

I went to a Independent dealer to do a trade to buy a Rolex and they did not want to know . Best way is Ebay or Chrono 24 to sell watches . Also Auction house good place to buy . I remember when dealers sold used watches below retail . Maybe those days are coming back ? think people need to be honest with themselves on why they want to buy a Rolex , is it to wear or to make money ? If its to make money then buyer beware , dont listen to the hype . Also getting a Rolex watch Serviced is a long wait so maybe consider CPO with a AD . Avoid Consignment , its a scam

Your attitude gives greedy watch dealers the time of there lives.. every high value purchase especially a ROLEX has an investment aspect no matter how cheesy the comments get .. no offence to the watch dealer but look at that..... he agreed...😂 with you.. and so he should because easy clients like you make life easy.. thank you and good night.
@@garyuk761I disagree. For buying an item with a high price there is really only two justifications. You need it or you don't care if it blows up in flames tomorrow. Anything else is financially irresponsible... which to be fair seems to be the norm these days.

Great advice. The scammers will always be 2 steps ahead so even if you try to cover all bases they'll have thought of another way to catch you out. Paul Thorpe has given a lot of awareness to the types of scams pulled. Better safe than sorry - rather sell to a dealer with a proper reputation and you can sleep at night

Since the "USA incident", I've noticed a definite increase in online content extolling the virtues of credible /reliable /reputable grey market dealers. Buy, sell, consign, whatever - I think AF did a lot of damage to the market overall, and to grey market watch dealers in particular. Lessons for all sides of the supply chain to learn.

I buy my rolex’ from specialist auctions, I picked up a near perfect Daytona bi metal white dial with all its paperwork for 7k….one of four I own, no wonder most stay poor paying prices like this, over rec retail to a load of chavs and chancers, the prices are set to tank as U.K. goes into hardcore recession….enjoy.

Price matching doesn’t work there’s too many variables. Even if it’s the exact same model what year is it, does it come complete or just the watch by its self, what’s the condition and how’s it compare. Yes prices are negotiable ofc but sometimes just having these popular models in stock and knowledgeable staff is all you need.

A company can't be the best for buying and selling , they need to cover costs /make profit somewhere . You do need to trust the conpany is legit, but solely on the price element If upgrading the key is total cost to switch. Dont be hung up on one side of the transaction or the other as its the total deal that matters.
I was recently offered the yachtmaster rhodium 8 months later when I’ve changed my mind. Denied it 😅
I now only want the Pepsi or the gmt rolesor. Good idea or bad? ✅

good stuff. interesting re ebay v chrono v dealer. Tried first two with a 2019 216570 E2 unpolished scratched lug 7400 got nowhere. Am waiting for market to settle.
Interesting about the larger case sizes, too. I don't like them. Just fashion. Very clunky.

What kind of taxes do your US buyers encounter when buying a watch from you?
So around 5-8% in import duties and taxes once it enters the US 👌🏻
EBay pull your pants down with there final value fee… it’s 12.8% up to £5000, anything after that you'll pay 3% for the portion of the sale price above £5,000. 😢
Every 2 weeks, there is an 80% reduced sellers fee. I've just sold an Omega for £4695 & paid around £100 fees

Not sure how it works in Europe, but in America it’s another 15% in taxes if you sell over $600 worth of goods because of business classification
The grey market dealers want the bigger slice of the pie if you sell a watch to them

You want buy them cheap so you can sell cheap and make 1000 pounds and move on. You offer nothing more than a Rolex middle man with overhead.
