Wayyy better than expected! This is sick
awesome DIY video and mod video in general. I like being able to take ordinary things and use elsewhere đȘđ»đȘđ»đđ»đđ» keep it up and again sweet simple mods that you want and you like đ
I watched your video and currently making mine for my Jetta! All I gotta do is paint it and install them. I canât wait to put them on and thank you so much for the video/ idea!
Destiny Antuna Iâm so happy to hear this is working for people :) glad you like it!
You did a great job very good thanks for the tip I'm going to do my Cabrio that way thanks my friend nice video
Looks epic. Think I am gonna have to try this on my bora (jetta)... Got the time to do it on lockdown atm
Awesome work on the side skirts!!
Dam thatâs looks CLEAN đ„
Wow gutter side skirts, thats really creative for sure!
Damn that looks awesome. I have done the same before, best to think outside the box.
Dam good job man. Thatâs amazing đ
you did a killer job! definitely gonna do this to my mk4 because my skirts are mangled. awesome video
This is a great video I love the fender flares and your tires along with the skirts what type of tires are they bbs's nice
Nice work man, thats genius for how good it looks. How did you mount them underneath? More self tappers or double sided tape?
This is pretty damn crafty! Hat's off man! Looks really good, made me venture over to the gutter aisle at Lowes tonight. Did I miss it when you were listing parts on what you used for the splitters?
Mikael Fritts yeah itâs in the video, I used small plastic interior trim piece, itâs like 1â wide
Thatâs awesome man!
defenatly going to do it on my TDI good job
Great vid, with a great turn out đđ» which flares are you running and whatâs your wheel specs? Wanting to pretty much do this same thing on my Mk4 GTI
That looks really good man. This would also be a cheap fix for people with rusted rockers
oh man.. yuor wheels are gorgeous. love the fender flares too. looks rugged but clean
Thank you sir :) sheâs getting cleaned up now as we speak, videos coming soon!
Clean bro, I think I may just have to do this to mine
Clean bro, subscribed
So dope brođ„
This whole build I need help... This Jetta is what a Jetta is supposed to look likeđ„đ„đŻ
I canât wait to get back to building this car, it will happen soon I promise!
Turned out great !
Very creative!
What I tried to do was front n back tire flares but can't find any where you get your tire flares
What material did you use for the splitter? Do you have the part numbers ?
Definitely the side skirts looks nice.... Better than gli aftermarket ones
Great job! đđż def better than other skirts out there! How much lower do then sit compared to not having any skirts?
Funny enough it actually sits only like half an inch lower, maybe even less
Beautiful
very nice !
Sick car
Did you use self tapping screws to attach the splitter?
That was Dđ„PE bro! And yes I will.
Awesome
Nice Jetta man
hey dude, good effort on the skirts, love me some DIY! i have a 3 door golf so might need to review how the skirts are secured near the back, but may i suggest to put some thin ACM (aluminium composite material) to beef of the rigidity of the skirt, may not be needed, but it's quite light and easy to install with a couple of self tappers
Harris Ang hello and thanks for watching! Honestly with how tight it sits to the body on the Jetta it doesnât move around at all actually, I believe on the 3 door golf/GTI you would need to reinforce because you donât have another door in the back that could open where you could put another bolt on the door sill, but maybe even some double sided tape could work very well
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA ah good to hear! i would dislike it if i had to remove it and add support features after doing the install once...
I'm gonna have a crack at doing something similar, using your vid, and using rivnuts to secure it first (so it can be removed); if that fails then some 3M VHB tape for sure!
thank you again for the upload
Where did you get your front lip ?
Good job I like it
I'm glad you like it
What kind of flares are tho or what sized
Perfecto pero una es canoa de techo pero la otra pieza de plastico como se consigue
What over fenders are you running?
The 80's and 90's VW car's ruled.
Needed for my honda. Headed to lowes today.
La Vida awesome, good luck with it! Mine are still on and not one issue
Anyone got measurements for a mk4 golf gti? 2 door
I gotta do this on my passat
Yo can you make one for me đđ this is just perfect
Nice work i love your mk4. Just asking where did you bought the front lip from ?
Ebay, itâs a lip for a Honda Civic, it does not fit well, I donât recommend it unless you can spend time making it fit a little better
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA ty a lot man
yes
Great content and was wondering what oil you use ?
Thomas Loureiro hello, thank you! I usually use mobile 1 5w30 full synthetic on all my cars, easy to find and itâs a good oil
Still relevent nice job
its awesome but id say color match it better by adding more clear coat
Oh yeah for sure, car will be getting painted or wrapped this coming summer anyways, so theyâll be matched unless I get some other kind of skirts
NEXT VIDEO: how to TĂV home made side skirts
This comment is under appreciated, this is funny as hell đ
@@heroichitsuji these people doesnt know what TĂV at all so no wonder đ but they would be sooo fucked with their cars in Germany
Very aware of what TUV is, thatâs why Iâd rather live in the states, we get to enjoy our cars
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA well, I can relate. I wish we had the freedom with our cars like you Americans have. âđœâđœ
Just wondering how did you mount it on the bottom side of the rocker or did I miss it in the video ?
Justin Davenport i used self tappers at first to establish the holes, then I did nut certs to make it look more professional and to make removal and install easier later, didnât show it in the video because I did it about a month later, you might also have to make a few brackets if you end up trimming the bottom piece of the skirt off, I left mine on since you canât see it, and it gives you more surface to mount
Hello from Bogota
I canât seem to find the video of the civic lip install. You mention at the start of the video can you link it or tell me what the video is called?
Hello, as mentioned in the video before this one, I installed the lip, but did not make a video on it, itâs not the greatest fit, so I didnât want to waste anyoneâs time, it was just a fun experiment that turned out decent, the video before this one shows it a bit better also, check it out if youâd like
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA yeah I definitely will thanks for the reply!
4:54 Nice
Ohreo haha
Can also use garden trim!
Yes you could, but I donât like how you have to rivet it on, too many bolts on the side skirt in my opinion
So I noticed that you used the 4.5"x120'.. my question is do u think the 5.5x120 would give u that lower look to match the front like you were looking for or are the 5.5 and 4.5 measurements for the areas you don't use?
Hayden Sommers I do remember looking at both when I was at the store, and I remember for some reason the 5.5 wouldnât work, I believe it was the shape of the side Iâd need, I might drop by the store again to look, and see if I can pinpoint what I was concerned with
Need some black self tappers or sharpie them lol
Hayden Sommers for sure haha Iâm planning on doing rivnuts so I can bolt and unbolt them easily
@Hayen - I watched this right before going to Lowe's for some screws and crap and decided to take a look. The 5.5 have a different side, it's got a bend on the top and bottom and slight curve to it, wouldn't really work for this look. So your memory serves you correctly Arthur!
Mikael Fritts nice! I knew there was something, and now I remember what it was
Yes. I am. And gonna make a video also.
You are going to rot out the metal where you are putting these screws, use some caulk. Also, put some caulk down around the leading edge where it sits on the door sil area, so it doesnât collect moisture and debris.
Whatâs your wheel and tire setup, looks good
18x10 all around, I believe tire size is 235/35/18 if I still remember correctly
Cant tell that the splitter is a different color. Maybe the splitter's color should match the color on the rims.
Where you get the fender flares
Ebay
How you doing buddy Iâm back got another question I wanna run by you and see how theyâre holding up picked up a pair of them yesterday
The question is I noticed how thin and flexible the plastic is I have damage on mine so they will be more of a permanent install for me anyways I was thinking about using a small amount of that expanding foam spray and then install it quickly and let it dry do you think they would give it a lot more rigidness or do you think it needs it at all?
Hayden Sommers you could definitely use some foam spray, it might make the skirt move though during the expanding process of the skirt, maybe have it all installed and bolted down, then go under the car and spray it on the back side? Or maybe even use some bedliner spray or the roll on stuff on the back side, that stuff turns rock hard after it cures, just some ideas
But do keep in mind, if the piece loses its flexibility, it would be easier to crack as the body flexes over bumps and rough roads
Would you ever think about selling? I got a mk4 jetta, 2003 to be exact
JQ it will be for sale in the next month or two, but thatâs gonna be after Iâm done with all the plans I have for it, itâs actually getting a major mechanical overhaul and some upgrades right now, hopefully have a video out on it in the next week or so
How do those hold up against bumps and potholes? Do they just flex or would they crack?
Der Amerikanische havent had any issues as of yet, have done about 1000 miles with them on
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA Thank you, I'll definitely be looking into doing this! You did a killer job
Thank you! I would do it all over again if I had to haha
Nice... need the video for the front lip asap. Please
edd Garcia toxho moroxho I wasnât considering making one, but because itâs such a cheap mod, I might have to buy another and make a diy for it
ROAD NOISE MEDIA i cant wait !! Thanks so much hope you doing it soon ... no rush but you better do it lmao ... thanks for you videos they are great
Spax Tuning , the car looks good at 20 meters !
More like 30 haha
Do you have a DIY on your wheel arch's?
I do not, Iâm sorry, itâs pretty much like every other one on CZcams though, just measure, cut, install
Just so you you if you didnt...
SATIN finish is HALF gloss/ HALF flat.. I love satin finish and I really am not a fan of full gloss finishes/chrome.. man I think it looks factory No one will know you didn't fcçspend the $300 I Have a white mk4 1.8 T Jetta and I think I'm gonna do this! Great idea you super outside the box but looks soo clean.. subscribe to this dude
Appreciate the love man! I was definitely hoping it would have been a bit more satin looking, but when I get the car painted or wrapped, it will all match much better
How did u bolt them down at the bottom ?
Ghettoboy Harris self tappers at first, but Iâm doing riv nuts before they get painted to match, you might have to make a few brackets in sort of an S shape to mount them
Dude i want your jetta. I got an 03 4 speed automatic 2.0 and im tryna get it to look like this.
Haha I got the same car but a wagon, might have to make some gutter side skirts as well
@@jonahmeyer1069 đŻđȘđœ
Give it a shot! Worse case scenario you have an extra gutter for your house haha
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA lmao
Whered u get the spoiler from please tell me.
The trunk spoiler? Thatâs a factory spoiler, it was on the car when I got it, Iâm actually going to remove it and go with something else
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA dont you have to drill holes into the trunk yourself in order to put a spoiler on? Mine dont have one, so aint i supposed to drill holes orr?
@@officialyungtwizted3858 for this specific spoiler yes you need to drill a few holes to bolt it down
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA ayyy thx
whats that lip from like what year civic
2001-2003 civic coupe, itâs not the greatest fit just FYI, takes work to make fit
not gana lie man on the vid from.a certin angle it kinda looks like the diy garden edge lip but that shit is badass I did one on my celica đ€Łđđ»
You screwed through the metal? Isnt that bad for corrosion/rust etc??
Yes and no, yes itâs not good, but I put touchup paint after in the holes to cover the metal, we donât really have too much moisture where we live and the car is garaged all the time, so shouldnât be an issue, but Iâll be cleaning it up more and adding rivnuts later on
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA ok if u say itâs holding fine shoot say less lol i live in Colorado tho but I just did a front bumper diy lip with garden edging for 3$ lol
Yeah where Iâm at itâs not an issue, but Iâll be cleaning it up more and making sure it wonât rust, that would be a shame haha Iâve seen those lips, looks great on most cars
fender flares and wheels?
Angel Melendez if you watch some of my previous Jetta videos, the details are in there, thank you for watching!
Goddamnđđ»đđ»đđ»
Bro ur a genius.. thank you... can we all get the item number for the gutter u used.. :)
Hayden Sommers I went with âItem # 279187 Model # M0573â
Hayden Sommers from Loweâs
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA thank you very much
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA TYVM
Previous owner jacked on the side skirt with a floor jack and crushed one side .. need something to cover it up .. so thank you again
what wheels are those??? and what specs?
Snow_Ultra xxr 557, 18x10 et19 all around, no spacers
What wheels are those
Jonathan Scott xxr 557âs, 18x10 all around
The metal rain gutter works better
I looked at those as well, but couldnât find a metal one that was the correct shape, did you find one that actually works? Iâd love to see it
I see ur wing is it after market?
Itâs actually a oem wing
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA yes look oem but looks like itâs raised up lol if u get me?
Yeah I understand, but no this is the oem 2003 gli spoiler, it was on the car when I got it, I actually like it a lot
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA nice man đ€đ»đ€đ»
Proper lol
it hurts my soul a little bit to see rain gutters screwed onto a GLI. Doesnt look bad. GLI just deserves better lol.
JettaMaster if it was a true 2004-2006 GLI, I definitely wouldnât do this haha BUT if I would have never told anyone what they are, youd never be able to tell in person :)
@@ROADNOISEMEDIA Knowing it isn't a real GLI makes me feel a bit better about it haha. Either way though, it does look nice and clean. You would have to look real close to see whats actually going on there. Also, getting rid of that spoiler would clean it up (just my opinion).
JettaMaster I mean, it is a gli, but the 03 model didnât get the factory lip kit or the gli interior, they started doing that with the 04+ models, this one has the badging, and the 6speed trans, the other vr6âs get there 5 speed
yikes i have a gold one
This guyđđđ
