  • also if it only ignites for a little bit then shuts off quickly then its the light sensor. if it stays on for 5 minutes or so then shuts off its the thermal sensor. also check for cracked solder joints on the mainboard and burnt spots.

Quiet, and great heat output. Sleek design too.

I just repaired one of these heaters for a friends workshop, (it is badged Sealey in the UK but otherwise identical). It came to me after several failed attempts by others to repair it.
I first of all found the cooling fan blades were worn out at the drive spigot and the fan was not turning, so replaced the fan blade with a brand new one. Next problem was fuel delivery or lack there of, this was caused by total blockage behind the jet, when I took the jet out it appeared to be a filter, but once the blast tube was removed I found it was actually dust totally packed inside there!! I cleaned it all out with a pick and compressed air and rebuilt the assembly, set the fuel pump pressure to 118psi and she fired right up like a sweetie.

hi , how did you adjust the fuel pump , tried backing mine off a little as it smokes and it kills it ?

    • @Ricky-zj6sy

@@jimclarke6129 Hi Jim, you need to have a fuel pressure gauge and the fuel pressure specifications for your burner. Connect it to the outlet line and run the pump, there will be a screw that adjusts the pressure, so turn it up or down until it reaches the specified pressure. Smoking usually denotes a lack of fuel or pressure, so also check the suction line filter for blockages and clean as necessary

@@elliot330 Hi mate, I would start by replacing your jet and fitting a decent fuel filter on the suction line, get one of the clear torpedo type filters and around a foot of tubing to fit it, remove the old suction line and replace it with the new one with the filter inline placed adjacent to the fuel pump. Should sort your problem out

Longest way ever of saying, IS IT SPARKING WHEN YOU TURN IT ON, IS POWER GOING TO THE SPARK PLUG. There I just saved you ten minutes of your lives listening to a life story.

So you're taking the multimeter red lead while set on AC and touching it to the ignitor terminal on the board? I'm trying to figure my heater out. I have spark and fuel but it just won't ignite. I pulled the fuel plug and put in fresh fuel and still nothing. I'm not sure if it's the board or not or if I'm testing correctly. Anyway, I'm getting like 14V from one ignition terminal and
.814V from the other ignition terminal.

Any idea how to get one to ignite without replacing that part? Anything that can replace that part that doesn't cost 90 bucks

I have the exact same heater. Won't fire. The spark is there from the igniter. Fan runs. Fuel comes out. But will not ignite. Rarely used too. Looks almost new. Something is shutting it down. It's not the photo cell, that works. Turned up the pressure on the fuel pump too. Still no fire. The sparks ignites and it sounds like the pump starts but then everything shut down. (except the fan) How do i find out what is shutting it down? What can be faulty. The nozzle is wet too, so I know fuel is coming out. ?????????

I have the same unit, the same problem you have (all is working but it will not start) The cause is that the fuel needs to be a fine mist , so not a spray/trickle of fuel. My unit is barely pumping fuel. I still don't know what exact the problem is. By the way the nozzel you can take apart fully (screw off the filter part) and clean and there is a filter inside the entrance of the pump which needs to be checked (mine was full of dirt)

My Sun-stream PT70SS heater (Same as yours, just another name) doesnt work at all. The fuel pump doesnt run and the red light doesnt lit, nothing happens. All the connections, wires and switches are checked, such as on/off switch , tilt switch, overheat sensor. Then its only one part left, the circuit board. Frustrating to order a new one, as there is probably only one component on the circuit board that has failed. Or could it be another part/reason?

if i had to guess without testing anything i would say number 36. the photocell. thats what detects the light from the fire and keeps it running. if it doesn't detect light it will shut off.
