- How to fix a Master Space Heater: This is just one of many things that could go wrong, the problem with some of these heaters is that the older models are not parts supported anymore. I probably should have replaced the filter but did not have one at the time stay tied for the next video on this, I did put a link for filter down below.

Thank you for this simple, easy to follow guide. I printed out the manual for my ProTemp PT-70T-KFA (70,000btu) heater and was going to 'logic my way' through it to figure out what was wrong but your guide put me on the scent of what was wrong from the get go. Previous owner had apparently put bad fuel, or old diesel, into it and yep - cleaning out the jet led me to find several chunky bits of 'fuel'.
While I was in there I installed a spare fuel filter & zip-tied it away from heat & the fan.... hit the switch & she fired right up!
Many thanks!
I wish I found this before I started replacing parts, thank you for the video. Was very helpful. Cleaning my nozzle did the trick!
You're welcome!
You will get a more accurate reading by testing the pressure at the test point, blocking the pipe like you did only tells you the max pressure the pump can supply, you need the air flowing through the system and out the nozzle to set the correct pressure.
I had a similar problem with my own B70 model and after too many hours spent cleaning, testing and adjusting everything more then once, it turned out to be a hairline crack in the plastic cover where the pressure adjustment screw is located, when the screws were tightened the crack got wider and it lost all the air pressure, i super glued it and is now working perfect
Good Point Thank for the info
Was just going to post the same comment
Thenks for this film. Thanks to you i repair my machine. 👍👍
No problem 👍
Thank you for all the help!
Kallstrom Sweet Corn here , I think I may have a fuel problem . My heater is 34 hears old [ we bought new ] has not been used in approx. 15 years , has some rust in tank . [ how did you get rid of rust in tank ?
Ya that could be a bit tough. I had no rust
Thanks!
Please do a battery test with sunbeam with wheel stunt rover
Hi Ron
You video has come in great as mine was doing the same cleaned it out and it's firing lighting and going outside think the pressure is wrong butni don't have guage . Mine says 2.5 psi is there anyway you could tell me how many turns from all the way in it might be please, I'm in the UK and delivery of a guage is 7 days to me
Ok, I just got back from checking and this unit was about 5 turns out but they are all different based on what may be worn out try that. good luck.
If I am not getting fuel what then I cleaned nozzle go nothing I took fuel line off nozzle manifold start nothing coming out of fuel line
It could need a pump kit? I think it is this one: amzn.to/473Ck3a
Just curious, why do you continuously plug and unplug the unit instead of using the on-off switch?
This unit does not have one, just a time out reset button.
@@channelron3593 Gotcha! Thank you for your response!
Is this setup the same on the 140's? Mine is doing the same but I found both fuel hoses were bad. I replaced them and still doing the same.
Hmm. Could be the pump?
Can you use brake cleaner? To clean it
Good ? I would think it would be fine, I know that is some nasty stuff, ware gloves (:
Everything you did was wrong. If you pulled the air line then it wouldn't pull fuel so you could have left the igniter wire connected. If that grounded out you ran a change of frying the high voltage ignition. Air pump pressure needs to be checked from the rear test port with the line connected to the nozzle. Never saw anyone ever use PB blaster as a cleaner?
Thanks I will try that on my next one.
I have a master 80,000 BTU and when I plug it in the green light comes on but the fan doesnt start. Think the thermostat is busted or what could be the issue?
Ore the built in circuit breaker?
I have a Master 135K BTU unit that came with the farm I bought. The unit turns on and heats but it sputters a lot. It has a gage on it and reads 5.5 psig, which it is what the plate says it should be. The fuel is probably old so I realize that. But is there something else I need to check?
Think you got it Fuel,, make sure you use #1 very expensive but when you need it its worth it.
Anybody #2 diesel in these spark ignited heaters?
Hello my heater similar to yours stays on for about 10 seconds then shuts off I have to reset it in the back for it to turn on then does the same 10 sec later
Fuel? igniter? Fuel Pressure? they all are connected. also, I'm not sure If I said in the film I only use #1 in this unit. Sometimes the fuel line from the tank could be clogged just enough to give problems and a cracked fuel line and also check the filter in the tank, good luck
What kind of gauge are you using ?
Should be in description but just in case amzn.to/3nWCXbL
What if it's not firing
I have a two burner space heater in my bed room .it has worked fine for years.this morning the pilot lite want stay on
First of all you should not have them inside? make sure you open window a bit. also use good fuel, that unit is different then what I am working on.
Ron I have a master 115,000 btu heater. I'm have a issue, with the top cover off it runs perfect, as soon as I put the top cover on it dies. Any suggestions?
Yes check the presser with gage, and the other is the nozzle could be dirty or
worn seems wired but have had that problem to. replace the nozzle and it fix it. also I always run just #1 My neighbor used it and put #2 in it and it did not like it.
Ii need to know how to keep my reddy heater pilot light lit?
This unit does not have a pilot light? I am thinking you are talking about something different.
Do you sell parts
No I find what I generally need online.
