Yeah, Pokémon Magazine is now part of OX lore and considered canon.
That it's easy/lazy content just adds to its charm.
The shadow ball question is even worse because Gengar is WEAK AGAINST SHADOW BALL. Ghost types are weak against Ghost attacks.

Gengar is also RESISTANT to grass type moves, thanks to his poison type. I think. I am actually not that sure.

I’ve seen a theory that gengar is the ghost of a clefable. (I’m guessing because they have a similar “who’s that Pokémon?” silhouette.)
I've also heard the theory that Clefable was originally supposed to be the mascot, so Gengar would have been a more poignant counterpoint. No idea if that's actually true.

The best thing about Gengar's absurd weight is that both of its pre-evolutions have a weight of exactly 0.2 pounds or 100 grams, which means that Gengar is only about 200 times heavier.
Edit: That was a lie. It's actually 400 times heavier. My bad. Error in conversion.

It's probably just that Gengar is supposed to be the shadow of a Clefable brought to life by the gasses possessed by Haunter and Gastly, hence the extra weight. I guess the remaining 300 g are there to account for his Invisalign smile or something, idk xD
uM ackchyually, the Dusk Ball is used for catching Pokémon in dark places, not just Ghost and Dark types 🤓

The "Final Countdown" breakdown came out of nowhere and resonated with me at a deep level...if I had to say, I'd guess it's my favorite song ever (in fact, at one point, I thought of using it as the entrance theme for wrestling, long before wrestling games afforded you massive creation options).
Please could you make a playlist just for these pokemon magazine show of the weekends. Theyre some of my faves to watch :D

I missed 2. I was wrong on the height & weight question. Also that first question was definitely worded oddly since ghost types are weak against ghost types & Gengar being a ghost/ poison type would have been weak to shadow ball & resistant to the grass type move
