for now it will be, but only a matter of time until everyone figures it out. But sad to say, I much prefer the 2006 gen than the current gen. The best is in the past. Everything is getting heavier and more dull with little added benefit. For me, the 2006 2.3L is the sweet spot. You could go as far as the 2016 if you can live with the high rev inconsistancy, but I can't.
Great Video! For us here In Chicago (USA) we would add the 350z to this list. Can't get one that has the upgraded HR engine (2007 & up 300HP) for under 10k but can still get ones with the DE engine (2002-2006 265HP) and a nice trim level for under 10k. Car will probably have 75,000 miles or 120,000 km on it so still lots of life left in the engine. Only draw back from a practicality stand point is it's a 2 seater
oh yeah! Interesting. The 350z is very popular here too. Because of that finding a clean one is around 13k. Definitely a really great budget performance car
06-11 Saab 9-3 Aero (40K msrp just 10 years ago can be found for 3-8K), Pontiac GTO(similar fate), SS Turbo (HHR, Cobalt, Buick Regal), SRT-4 04-06 Neon, Lexus IS300
great cars, but the normal ones are fwd with a long wheelbase. not exactly going to carve the turns. trying to see if i can find one of the awd or manual altho im never going to find one with both (only 44 were made) and manuals are rare as it is lol

What generation are thinking about? And it wasn’t bad at all. If it is stock you can get really decent MPGs considering that it is AWD. Not as good as a Honda but really good for a AWD performance car
what are the most nimble cars to drive that are peppy and yet reliable (non-turbos) that is gratifying to shift through each gear? Having them affordable would be a plus, but not a major factor.
@@soaponrope3792 Thanks for that feedback. A few comments on those cars based on my experience: Civic si - The 1st gen was my favorite (light, rev happy, fuel efficient, great design for its time) but everything inbetween the 1st gen and now has been a few steps back. I haven't driven the latest gen and would love to give it a try based on the reviews I have been seeing. In my point of view, the 2006 Mazda 3 is what the Civic should have been in the generations following the 1st gen (still light enough to be tossible and fun to drive, still rev happy and shifts even nicer, fuel efficient based on the incerased size and much need safety enhancements.. just a great vehicle). Miata - I drove the new miata and wasn't impressed. only thing I liked about it was the motorized convertible top. It might be quicker than my 2006 Mazda 3, but it doesn't feel as peppy or as much fun to shift that sweet shift knob. For the smaller size, I was expecting it to be better. Also driven the 2016, which is really nice except the one I drove, and I don't know if this what that specific vehicle, but I believe the Skyactive Tech ruins the high rev response of the engine... the engine before that tech, basically the 2016 Mazda 3 2.3L felt much more responsive and smoother to drive at high revs. Definatly not a big fan of the heavier current gen of the Mazda 3 and loss of feel as with almost all new cars. 350z - excellent car on the track, although a little low on power at the top end, but would do excellent on a small track like at the streets of willow. Great on a small track but would suck to drive in the city. It takes just too much effort and attention, same reason why I didn't get an STi, although that would have been better for daily driving that the 350z. I would rather have a 2006 Mazda 3 Grand Touring package for comfortable, sprirted and great mpg city driving.
@@sheepdogvan3137 you’re tripping the 8th gen si is way better than the Mazda 3 (non speed) handles way better than the speed3, revs to 8000, way faster than any non speed mazda3 hardly much heavier at all.

to address your first statement "i dont know where your finding these 1 series bmws under 10k" you can get them all day with 70-100k mileage. they're pretty reliable as long as you can fix it yourself and are willing to shell over some cash for oem bmw parts. i had a e46 at 8,000 bucks

it is front wheel drive no drifties
My first car was a 2010 Mazda 3. I've only had it for about 6 months but I love it. Kinda sucks driving into Honolulu though

Out of this list, civic or cobalt ss (turbo or superchared) for sure. As a wild card, I would add the B16 Sentra Se-r
B15, but i agree

Forget about the BMW’s and Mercedes Benz because you will pay hundreds to thousands of dollars when something needs to be repaired or replaced.
