The best cars that were under 10k before this video
Wayyyy before amigo
delete this video
That one took me more than a minute. (slow in the head) Guess they don't call'em 'influencers' for nothing. But best were always before this. Before 1973!
Delete the video. Hate these unless I own one currently
oh no they inflated the price of my car lol
Oh no they gonna inflate more cars 😂
"We are talking about a handful of enthusiast vehicles that WEREN'T overpriced" haha
Gonna inflate these cars more then the crown vic.
Can't have nothin
Right, STHU donut!
biden beat them to it 😂
Just bought a 2008 Buick LaCrosse with 67k miles loaded, heated seats, New tires, push button starter, everything working for 4500. Has the 3.6 V6 in it. 80 year old Grandma owned it for 15 years. Beat that
Omg GIMME THAT
Ehh
Thats because the 3.6 is sketchy at best
Got a 2010 330ix, 67k miles with m3 suspension and a bunch of other m3 parts, mint condition and it was only 10k.
@@chuckd9007 Nice! I bought a 1996 m3 with 44k miles for 3,000 back in 2014. Gotta love old people.
Damn you for mentioning the Volvo V70R 😅 The rare just got rarer. Thankfully, I’ve got dibs on an Autobahn tuned model from family in Germany. Seeing our 75yo Oma (grandmother) push that thing to 240kph on the A8 put a smile on my face for a week.
My family just sold ours. It was my first car 5 speed. It is absolutely perfect in every way. We tracked it aswell and I had better times than all the miatas, which is pretty good considering its weight
I feel like donut sometimes forgets how popular they are. This vid will single-handedly increase the prices of these cars.
They don't care, they've been answering to their owner's wallet since they sold out
But what's the alternative? It's not like people are keeping some secret reservoir of cheap cars for members of the secret cheap car club to occasionally buy from.
I've been driving Monteros since the beginning of the 90s and they were always considered trash trucks by everyone until very recently, then they disappeared from the wrecking yards magically over about a 2-3 year period as all the ones owned by careless people finally quit working and all the rest are owned by responsible owners who take care of them and the price of a used one is pretty high these days.
Same thing for the cars on this list... putting them in the hands of people who are willing to spend some money might save a few from the scrapyard for another few years.
@@stevebutters306 You say that like they are selling these car and making profit off them
why do you all say that. its not even possible unless you a sucker
They know how popular they are trust me they never forget how many money they make off of these videos.
These aint gonna be under 10k after this video for long lol
Factual , I appreciate when they make these until six months to a year later and the donut tax adds 500-1000+ dollaroos
@user-xf3ui4te3w WOW, I never thought of that! Thanks for that insightful advice.
Right? I am working towards a 128i, now it'll be inflated 😂.

There is ONE V70R for sale in the US. It has 165000 miles and listed for $16,500.
EDIT: FB marketplace has some clapped ones for less.
No low ballers. I know what I've got. Don't waste my time.
Will trade for a Porsche with cash on top. Seriously inquiries only. Ran when parked. Just needs a transmission, headgasket and inspection. Will not respond to 'is this still available'

@@HBeezy919 No shot. Sure it was an R? Manual? Under 200k?
@@HBeezy919 I can find some S60Rs under $10k on FB. Can’t find any wagons that are manual.
Worked at a Volvo dealer when the S60R and V70R came out, and we knew they would be sleeper collectors in the future. was so underrated when it came out and still is. an excellent choice
Hell no they arent, theyre plagued with issues.
My dad had one and got it lemon lawed. It was in the shop CONSTANTLY. I Still want a v70r though. Ha.
I agree with the issues part as mine has cem and abs module issues but other than that mine has been awesome.
My old man's had constant brake squeel and chatter (according to him). Abs module was a problem. MAF went out when we took it to the racetrack once and it left us stranded. Lol
Horrible choice. European WRX. Youre asking for trouble.
You can absolutely go wrong with a F-150. Those 3 valve 5.4s are coming for ya!
Facts, i do have a 4.6 and the transmission went out at 110k
Only the 3-valve version, not the 2-valve one.
I just put in my second set of chains and cam phasers last week. Truck is great but engine has its problems
If you’re lucky you can snag one with a replacement engine. Lol
Have fun with the spark plugs.
Absolutely love my 3V Mustang. Has an old school school look that the current Mustang doesn't have + an amazing sounding engine
We bought our GT premium new in 2006 and apart from an alternator and a pinion seal, it's been dead reliable. We bought a new GT in 2019 and I still think the S197 is more fun.
Not a huge fan of the 3v but I will say with a good exhaust they can sound really good.
Just a little correction on the Cedric/Gloria's... You can get most engine and transmission parts in the US if your willing to be smart and cross reference part numbers. I have a 93 Gloria (same car as the Cedrid) and have rebuilt my transmission, did water pump, timing belt, tune up, valve cover gaskets, termostat, and the only part I have to get from japan was the intake gaskets. I've redone the suspension to lower it. (VIP build) and all those parts are US sold. Everything comes from Q45's, 240's, Maximas, or 300zx's. Great car and easy to maintain.
So uh.. When are we gonna collectively realize how awful a company BetterHelp really is and do something about it? At least vet your sponsors, guys. Very disappointing.
Please explain. Not hating. Just curious what's up
Amen. Every video will have this because this sponsor is still awful. 6 years ago they had to disappear for a while, they are back still awful
@@jjcc8379u didn’t explain anything
They shill for Draft Kings... they dont care about who sponsors them.
My best mentor was from better help though! I became an incredible man, hot chick, and life is coming up! I’m curious too.
Man... 11th gen F150's are sub 10k for a reason. Intake/Exhaust valves, timing issues, transmissions, electronics, etc. Most of these are pretty solid options but I'd have a hard time recommending specifically the 11th gen F150 to anyone shopping on a budget. Some are problem free, but just as many come with huge repair bills and neglected maintenance.
I know 3 people who had to sell that Gen of F150 for scrap because the repairs cost more than the truck did
Also a big problem with those...Mexican ownership.
That's all very true as far as the 5.4L. If you get it with the 4.6L they're bulletproof.
@@deyeatdapoopoo7582this. My dad had a 4.6 that went 270k before he couldn’t inspect it anymore. We live in New England so the salt ruins everything. The engine still ran completely fine with no problems
I feel like half the cars on this list were, "The Best Cars to Own for ~$10,000/year"
Never seen one in any list like this, but the 2014-2017 v6 Honda accord coupes are A BLAST. Can def be found under 10k, real nice daily with a fun amount of power, great handling, pretty sleek body styling, and it’s a Honda so it’ll last forever. I own a 2014 and it’s been such a wonderful first car. Just crossed 150k on it today 😊. The longer I own it the more I just can’t believe it doesn’t get the love it deserves.
Found someone selling a 2013 accord v6 coupe with 111k miles for $17.5k USD. Had to send him a message and let him know that he was out of his mind lol
@@moezytube6652 jeez louise, maybe it has the HFP kit? Still a ridiculous price
You're not getting V6 coupes from those years for under $10k. I just checked CarGurus, and there is not a single one under $10k within 200 miles of Orlando. Most are $15k to $18k. There's a 2016 listed at $22k. I actually love these cars, I used to own a V6 manual coupe. Amazing cars. But under $10k is wildly unrealistic. Thats the price range for 4 cylinder coupes.
Yea I don't know if they can really found for under 10k. Yes there are some out there but those are all stupidly high miles, ragged on or salvaged. I'm seeing about $15k for one with 100k miles seems to be to the going rate. I see a few nationwide that are around $12k but have 140k plus miles. I'm sure rug you out in apt of work you could eventually find one near 10k and closer to 100k miles but that would not be the norm
I just bought a bone stock 2006 NC Miata 6MT about a month ago for $5900 with 160k miles. I didn't mind the high mileage cuz I don't drive much, working remotely, and I plan on k-swapping it in the future. I also bought a 2012 Honda Fit a little before the Miata, but I was also considering the EP3 Civic Si. I test drove both and I actually preferred the Fit over the Civic. Super light, fun to drive, and a ton of space inside.
Bro I swear if this raises the price of the 128i.... Gonna be so pissed. I was saving up to buy one
Better add a few grand to that fund.
No point in getting a base model lol bro
Just get a 135i, way better car! Costs more but you get what you pay for.
I have one for 5k

i've been owning an NC mx5 for the past 2 years. 2.5 swaps are the most common upgrades(from 2.5 ford fusions and perfect platform for turbo, cheaper than k24 swaps), rx8 big brakes & anti roll bars and much more. Aftermarket support is huge and you can definitely daily it because of the size. I pulled mine just under 10k with the engine swap + parts. Or just LS swap an rx8 and you've got an NC miata with a factory hardtop for even less money
I got a hot take for this. The 2011 to 2017 Chevy Caprice. Came with the V6 or 6.0 V8 which was just a mix of the LS2 and LS3. Four door RWD with a lot of room for potential.
Just bought a 96 Volvo 850R for $9k. Gotta be on the list somewhere.
Edit: alright just watched the whole thing. The V70R is also SICK.

I would say an absolute no. Both the 850R and the V70R use five cylinder engines. Not for me, thank you!!!

Is it reliable? I think I've heard someone on CZcams say it's a "do not buy" car cuz it's unreliable. Maybe I'm wrong
@@ZERONEINNOVATIONS The dieselgate fix they performed is an absolute hackjob and will deadline the car every 15,000 miles or so. I had a e91 335i manual a couple years ago, didn't have crazy mods just a remap, downpipe and intake but it had 380hp and was alot of fun.
Lucky European f..🤬
All love ❤️🔥😹 just mad jealous the e91 in Canada didn’t come in the 335i variant or 335d 😭😭
@BrokeMahWallet I know because apparently Canadians and Americans didn't want "fun" tourings which is madness 😂. What's going to make you even more mad was the fact I paid 8500 Canadian for it with 103,000 miles on the clock with the mods I mentioned plus an lsd from a company in the UK called wavetrac and a set of bb wheels 😘 was really nice till the ecu shit itself and cost me around 3k to fix 🥲

I love seeing them gaining traction abroad and these 5 banger turbo swaps are getting more and more popular. Just dont inflate the prices too much donut, please and thank you :)
Hehe dont know if the s60 counts as a brick. That title is reserved for 240/740 series and also the 850.
Love my s80 definitely volvo is underrated and I love it keeps everything nice and cheap
You missed out on another cheap wagon, look up the limited run 2018 - 21 Buick Regal Tourx. Especially the red needle cluster package. They have a lot of power with an awd system.
128i owner here, such a fun car and pretty easy(for a German car) to work on! Definitely love it.
I feel like the 2002-2006 R53 Mini Cooper S is worth a mention. 2-door hot hatch with phenomenal handling, forged engine internals from the factory, and an eaton supercharger is a recipe for a lot of fun. A healthy aftermarket and enthusiast community also makes these a great platform for modification and with the right knowledge and mods, they can be made to be very reliable.
There motors or junk get your checkbook out
@@jeremyloyd4671 I've owned one for 9 years and I currently race mine. The W11 Tritec engine in the R53 is actually very robust and reliable. The reliability issues that the 2002-2006 1st-gen cars had came from auxiliary items that are easily fixed with aftermarket parts or mods without destroying your wallet.
The 2007+ 2nd-gen Mini's with the N-series Prince engines, though? Absolute junk. Avoid at all costs.
Also, half of the cars in this video are maintenance nightmares.
British car? Reliable?
You must be pulling my leg? 2:38
@@titaniumoverdrive259 it's a German car
I would agree. I traded my 05 in on a Golf R in 2019 and the Mini had so much more personality. Kinda regret not keeping it and turning it into a project car of some sort. Definitely miss the supercharger.
So I’ve had a couple of these cars on the list and by far my favorite… Honda ep3. I paid $1500 for it, upgraded the suspension to Tein green shocks and put a k20z3 in it from a junkyard. Trust me… it was GOLD! And the cool thing was that I left the outside untouched so that it wasn’t gonna get stolen. lol. Man I miss that thing.
Where did it go Mr Peanutbutter?
I've got the same Tein Street lowering springs on mine! They're right, it ain't fast, but that suspension plus some good wheels and tires absolutely brought that car to life!
Thanks Donut media, learnt a lot about your actual car experience at matts off road year 2 experience xD
Great video guys! And actually, pretty darn practical. 😊 I imagine you probably had a few other candidates that could have made the list. As a runner-up, I'd propose a late first gen BMW X3 (2006-2010), sort of squeezing in between the BMW 128i and the Porsche Cayenne. Most models came with the same reliable N52 engine found in the 128i; they have a reasonably comfortable and luxurious interior; and you can find many good examples for well under $10K.
correction on the nc, it is not double wishbone all round, it has double wishbone in the front and multi-link in the rear
yep
Volvo is underrated, got an 05 XC90 v8 awd suv in 2013 and I still have it in 2024. 234k miles later. I’ve transported couches, lumber, kids and dogs. It will do it all.
just take care of the inevitable valve cover gasket leaks and it’s a reliable rig!
Yeah man, I have the same car but 2006, love it to death and would never trade it for something else
Change your angle gear fluid because those V8s love to eat angle gears.
They're so cheap I would buy one right now, if they weren't so damn ugly, that's why my eye has always gone to the XC60
I daily drive a 92 240 and it’s great. I love old Volvos but their “newer” ones are pretty great too
They picked the best car for the top of the list,The Volvo VR 70,however the all wheel drive is the XR 70 Cross Country which is the same wagon with the skid bumper on the front.

Exactly what I thought!
Guys that's literally what they said 🤦♂️
i really appreciated that comment. once it is on hi lo you can forget it.
I've said it for years now. A Cadillac Escalade is just the "rich man's" Chevy Tahoe. Plus if you really wanted you can even switch the panels headlights and taillights on your Tahoe to look like a Escalade
💯
If by "rich man" you mean gang banger, then I'd completely agree. Add some Vogue goldwalls and limo tint and you're good to go.
Great recommendation for the F-150 just so you know though you forgot to mention that the 5.4 liter V8 especially between the years of 2006 to 2009 had major issues with the spark plugs on the motor, So please watch out for that
Ayyy I just imported a Gloria the twin of the Cedric. Dope to see it mentioned in the video.
As a 5.4 f150 Triton owner you gotta make sure the maintaince is done. Idk why truck owners just abuse and don't do maintenance as the manufacturer outlines. Ours has 120k miles zero problems or repairs. Buddy bought a used one and the spark plugs were done 40k miles late and all but one snapped in the block. Do your maintenance and they are work horses
Alot of the 5.4s where work trucks and as somone who works with fleet companies it's because the fleet company's won't pay for it or the business only plans on having the truck for a certain period of time and sell it once it starts breaking/ gets cycled out
How dare you be logical!! Lol
The 4.6 was a better option
175k on my 3v when i sold it. Oil changes every 5k miles and zero issues out of the phasers. Had plugs changed at 60k and 125k, never broke any. Did have to replace the pinion bearing at 140k so just had the whole rear done with some 4.30 gears for pulling. Plus a fuel pressure sensor a few thousand miles before I sold it. Great vehicle, Just do the maintenance.

Fiat absent is sick but I haven’t seen any under 10K yet, I think they’re a bit too new
@@jetpackjbd Facebook marketplace is the way, sold mine for 5k on there
hearing u guys mention the Volvo is sick! I own a Volvo s60r and I was wondering when one of these would make an appearance in your vid
I love my s40 t5 ❤
So been looking at the 128i. Had 2 different volvo s40 t5 awd 6spd. Loved them
Yall sleepin on the lincoln mark viii
4.6 dohc and air ride. Super sick. Im tryna get one now.
I've had 2 NA Miatas, 1 NB, and currently have an NC1. My NC is my favorite. I wish there was as much aftermarket support for it as there is the previous gens, but it's still a fantastic car.
Is there more leg room? A knee injury is forcing me to sell my 50k mile supercharged '99. Really don't want to but, I can't spend an hour in it without two days of punishment, at this point.
@@Morboeatspeople Definitely more space all around. The cabin of the NC feels more like a normal car. See if you can find one at a lot for a quick “test fit” 😎
@@Morboeatspeople Also, that sucks, and I’m sorry to hear (read) that. Hopefully you find something that works for ya🤞🙏
@@hondamotorsrider Thanks! I appreciate the info and well-wishing :)
Have an 05’ Focus ST I picked up recently for almost nothing, man it’s a hell of a car for the money, premium sound, heated seats, killer engine and transmission.
I wanted to get the cedric but instead settled for the Cima VIP on the Y32 frame. Yes, parts are hard to find but love floating down the highway in these cars.
The e82 platform really is a great car. I used to own a manual 120i and it was quite fast for a 2l and also nible in the corners even in its stock form. Just a all around blast to drive but you have to keep in mind that they come with a host of electrical problems that can sometimes be quite tricky to solve. Its nothing that will have you stranded on the side of the road but for example my lights and windows didnt work most of the time
Check your ground strap. A bad ground can cause weird electrical issues...also if you swap halogens for LEDs, you will trigger codes because the resistance is LEDs is so low the car thinks there's no light there.
The cool thing about the Porsche Cayenne, at least the first gen models, some of them came in manual. If you were able to find on that came in manual, I believe it would be at the top of the cool list.
My favorite vehicle is a shopping cart, it’s free if you take on from the store. It’s eco friendly, fuel efficient, but it is kinda slow
Just gotta load that sucker down and find a big enough hill I'm sure it'll be scary fast 😂
*Bubbles has entered the chat*
Appreciate the timer on the ad, thanks for the content overall guys!
I saw a convertible 1 series 128i and lemme tell ya. . . Such a beaut! I own a 328, and i do love the car, but i also love convertibles. That car deserved a good spot on the list, and looks outstanding with the top down.
Hi/Low Mustang series? Let's go, baby!!!!!
I bought a 06' S60R about two years ago for a steal, I absolutely love it.
(I pray this video won't make them more rare than they already are, I must fully restore mine lol🤫)
I'm saying I have an s60 and I'm worried
7:09 I guess it's for the new hi-low. I hope you're going drag racing this time! That would be epic!😁
Just bought a 2011 BMW 128i, because of this video!! 👍🏼
I’m glad you included the V70R to the list, however finding a manual one for under 10k may prove to be challenging. I just sold mine, and I miss it already
might be hard for a v70r but i bought my s60r with a 6 speed for 8k 2 years ago
I paid 16 for a 6 speed auto sonic blue VR😭 worth it tho
@@noah6787it’s absolutely worth it, you got a super rare car in some of the rearest colors, it’ll appreciate over time
Cant go wrong with the 4.6 kinda underrated engine with it being unkillable in the crown Vic and the 1997-2019 mustang gt’s
No way you would find a good condition v70R manual for 10k those are worth 15k and up. I have two s60Rs 😅 🔥 best sleepers!!!! I’m glad Volvos getting the hype from big enthusiasts, they have been underrated for years!!! What car on the road still has its own TopGear episode 🔥. The interior in that car that gives it the blue leather and blue carpet, is called Nordkap. Both my Rs are titanium grey nordkap 🔥
5:48 i think a better FWD sleeper for under 10k is the Acura RSX. You can pick up a nice manual one for under 10k depending on where you’re located, and if you get a type-s, makes 200hp stock and has massive aftermarket support
The 7th gen celica gts with the 6 speed manual is a solid choice for fwd fun under 10k.
You can easily find clean ones in good condition for around 4k
Teeny tiny aftermarket support mostly from
Monkey wrench racing from the UK
@titaniumoverdrive259 This is true. But they have almost everything you would need. The only thing they don't have are wheels, tires, and more than 1 coilover option. (These can easily be found elsewhere)
So for a first or second car, the options are fine.
I loved my EP3 in college and still miss it to this day.
Glad I got my 128i 5 months before this video 😂 wanted the car for over year prior getting it and knew ppl would start picking up on this car 🙌🏽🔥
as an owner of an ‘06 v70r who just purchased your new fuzzy dice, they look amazing hanging from my mirror
Good thing I stayed home from school
Gotta bring more of these types of episodes. And Up to speeds. Miss those so much.
15:17 RHD is a lot of fun, even on a daily. just avoid the diesel L300 delica unless you're ok topping out at 60mph.
This video is the one that made me find out about Donut Media and I'm addicted to them ever since. 🎉👏🏻
As a teen I drive an 11th gen F-150 super cab (4.6 v8) to school it was the family work truck but its engine is super reliable if you get it with 4x4 you can have fun it’s not powerful like its brother the (s197) mustang but its powerful enough, watch for rust on the cabin and be careful with the 5.4 because its sometimes not worth it
i called the one series. it just makes sense, its a hatchback or coupe rear wheel drive and light weight, it can fir a straight 6 engine so the engine bay is spacey and i see it as a great candidate for engine swaps. and its an amazingly fun car stock as well even at the puney 1.6L engine, its light weight and fun and most importantly cheap in every department if you know what your doing and fix things yourself.
3252 lbs / 1475 kg is not "light weight" lmao
@@ShreN_ its around 1300kg and its light weight compared to a lot of modern cars and most people consider that weight light weight. my main point is that the standard e87 have a lot of potential only being held back by the poor engine put into it. like imagine what that car could do with something like a k20 engine in it making 300-400 hp naturally aspirated.
@@jamesheedrpg_god-boss3676 the 128i in the video weighs 1475kg exactly, that's not light. Modern light cars would be something like GT86 or ND MX5 (anything around 1250kg or under IMO). Nobody's putting K20s into them for that exact reason.
All BMWs are luxury cars, with lots of heavy sound deadening materials, heavy seats, etc. They're not cheap either, that's a complete cope.
I'd be surprised if you're even old enough to drive kiddo... It would make no sense to put a K20 into an E87 either, when any 130i or 135i could make similar power figures with just a boost controller and tune.
@@ShreN_ I own a e87, I live in Europe where it’s available and it’s a shit econobox. It does not have a lot of sound deadening the most luxurious thing in that car is heated seats and ac. And in my mind it would totally make sense to put a k20 in it if you’re going to change the engine because it’s a more safe engine compared to a lot of engines available in that car, like it’s a reason why no one makes any power mods for the smaller engine it’s because they are unreliable. And as I stated before I think it’s a great platform to build out from. It’s fucking cheap and parts are cheap and everywhere, in addition to this it’s one of the only rear wheel drive hatches out there
@@jamesheedrpg_god-boss3676lol literally I saw in forums that if bmw released ALL cars to the US their image would change real quick we
Next season of hi/low gonna be drag mustangs? It's gonna be awesome seeing what they do with 2 completely different budgets
8:37 2006 VW Touareg. I have one with the 3.w VR6 (same platform as the cayenne and q7) got it for 3k
