- On the border of the arts district and on a wall facing Skid Row, Los Angeles graffiti artist Risk paints "Ye Sun," an energetic, optimistic mural that fills the side of the Hotel Las Americas with rays and inscriptions which symbolize the hopes and dreams of the residents of Skid Row. As an innovator of writing on "heavens," or freeway overpasses, Risk has been in dialogue with the public for thirty years, using the streets to capture attention. Now, as a father of four and an established career artist, he uses the streets to evoke emotion and awareness, to dispel the myth that all graffiti is negative, and to uplift people with bright, resilient color.

Update: all of the drug addicts are now over a year clean, the amount of jobs and training programs have boomed and the people of los angeles feel safe again in skid row... all because of RISK and a yellow mural. All praises to the Krylon Gods

The homeless are God's Angels that are sent to test the kindness of your heart.Abused/3rd world ppl suffer too & money is given to charities to help them.Who helps the homeless really?Why are they on the st.?When it comes right down to it,ppl complain about them even being on the st.when they have nowhere else to go.The exact same ppl that gives $ to charities to help the ppl you speak of.Who knows where that $ goes & if they even get it,but it went to be written off.Ignorant?What did I miss?

I have to disagree with you, you cant base everything off religion. True some homeless people are suffering, however; most are lazy people who do not work, either got hooked on drugs or alchole. If everyone was soft and gave these homeless people or bums for some america would be screwed up even more. We can't treat everyone how we treat our family. Can't feel sorry for stupid people just because they messed up, so they screw it up for homeless people who are in need.
