Dr. David Paul - Wisdom From a Legend.

- It is with great sadness that I inform you that Dr. David Paul has passed away this morning. David was 68 years old.
I am trying to make sense of his passing. It is only a few months ago that we had a great banter at the IX Show in London. David gave an animated speech about the habits of profitable traders.
I met David in 2006. There was something about him, which was just magical. He was all Zen on the outside, but on the inside, he had a fire like you rarely see. It came out from time to time when you saw him on stage, and he wanted to make an important point. When David spoke, you paid attention.
The beauty of David was his total devotion to the power of now. He lived in the moment, and he preached it. Every time he would take to the stage or give a web seminar, it felt as if it was the first time, he ever gave that talk. Whenever he was with you, it was as if you were the most important thing - in fact, the only thing in his world.
David would not want us to fuzz over him. I can hear him say “just stay in this present moment, and all will be well”. The show must go on, and it will, but it will be with a lasting memory of our friend, our “twice a day in the gym” health enthusiast, our “Presbyterian Preacher on Stage”, our mentor, our ever-lasting source of trading wisdom, our “the doc”, our everybody’s Dr. David Paul.
Oh Captain, My Captain - I will miss you.

" Put your entry where the masses put their stops." I remember this quote from viewing one of his interviews when I was just beginning to trade in 2019. I'M STILL TRYING TO CONSISTENTLY IMPLEMENT THIS ADVICE! Also, " The Market is going to do what the Market wants to do."

History knows a lot of good traders, but I think our dear David Paul is the smoothest and finest gentleman of them all. Whenever I feel a bit discouraged or need a reminder of the basics I play his videos - always. Thank you, Tom, for sharing this gem! Honestly believe out of all Wyckoff followers out there David is the one who surpassed the teacher and became the true master of the Spring, David Paul's Spring. He's too humble to admit that and that's the charm of him. Really hope for the best!!!

Thanks for posting Tom. I know how much you guys shared. We'll all miss him and his wise and direct words of wisdom, but I have a feeling. that you'll be missing him even more. Like you I had the good fortune to meet him in 2006 and been in regular contact until last week. Such a loss to society, a real gentleman and a good friend. I feel priviledged to have known him, my life has been enriched by him. RIP David, may you now ride again all of those horese you've owned.

I just received an email from Tom, so this was a big shock for me. Condolences to all who knew Dr David Paul. Really a class act and just watching and hearing his voice just brings home how life is so fickle. He will be missed by those who knew him in SA.

Having known David for over ten years he was such a wonderful, humble astute gentle man . He gave so much to the trading community and I learnt so much from this master of Technical Analysis. He always tried to help beginners and advanced traders alike. I know he will be missed greatly. His philanthropic nature in trying to help those achieve their goals is a testimony to a great man. In the words of another great lady Tina Turner - was 'Simply the best.' Your memories, wit and humour will be forever in my thoughts. David may you rest in peace.

I UNDERSTAND TOM.. He was really a legend ! R.I.P Dr. David Paul, Always brings a smile on my face, espacially on the interviews with that cute lady at some trading firm/studio. thats where i saw him first time, and instantly liked him ! so simple and direct approch..!
Dr. David Paul is an example of a great person, I never meet him but anyone can see him as a humble and kind person,
in the trading industry full of noise, it's very hard to see a truthful person with great knowledge and Dr. David is one of very few of them.

I would have loved to be at this seminar in London back in 2022, however my sister got married that same weekend, so I had to prioritize. It is so sad that Mr. Paul has now passed away, he was a great person, a great presenter - which is confirmed by this clip - and a great trader. Unfortunately I never got to see him live 😟😟

I have been watching over Dr. David's videos all afternoon, noticing this video was new I also gave it a watch. 30mins in I decided to read the description of this video. Much to my surprise and devastation I read that the great man has passed away!! I was always fond of his teaching style and trading concepts and this one really upset me but I am also glad that he has been laid to rest and has put this stressful life behind him as he enters the eternal life with our Lord. May God bless his soul and grant him mercy.

Such a great man with such a profound approach to trading as a lifestyle. Every time he speaks, I find myself constantly pausing to take a note on something he said so that I might better apply it. My heart goes out to Tom as you can tell from this video that him and the Doctor were very close.
