A Beautiful Day to Chase Some Steam

- On April 10th I decided to try something different so I headed down to Essex because the Valley railroad was running some steam operations. I got there around 10:30 and was able to catch 3025 running the HOTT (Hand On The Throttle) program. After it entered Essex Yard the 11am steam excursion was off with engine 40 on point. It recently had work done and now where’s a red number board which it used to wear many years ago. I heard on the radio a warning to the crew about trespassers on the Chester creek bridge which would be crucial later. I caught them at Essex Hardware and Essex Street before things went wrong. I got to Railroad ave to hear on the radio that they had made an emergency stop at Deep River Landing due to a car near the tracks. It began moving a again but just north of my location on the Chester Creek Bridge the trespassers remained. The train once again stopped but this time the police had to become involved. After about 20 minutes it began rolling again so I chased it up to goodspeed and back down. Then I chased the 1 o’clock train up to goodspeed and as far south as Deep River Landing before calling it quits.
I’m liking the new red number plate on #40’s front
Awesome video! Gotta love Steam!
Nice vid! I liked the shot at 13:35
I’m glad!!! I don’t typical get shots like that but I thought maybe I would change it up. I’m glad to hear you liked it. Maybe I’ll get more shots like that in the future.
Very nice video :)
Awesome I subscribed to your channel
I’m really excited to hear that.
@@northeastrailproductions no problem
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing this video! I am real glad that, those trespassers weren't hurt! But,Thank God the police took care of it! Stay safe! God bless!☺👍❤
Yeah it’s never ok to trespass on an active railroad. At least everyone is ok but it’s disappointing to see.
12:52 Kinda sounded just like an Amtrak K5LA!
Happy 50th Anniversary Amtrak and Valley Railroad!
How are you listening to their radio frequency
I have a frequency radio that picks it up just like a railroad scanner that many railfans have.
