❤I am a true hobo weeks fan too xx 1 for scheduling and a pg pweek for notes 📝 and logs at back. 1 for everything Financial related, same direct debits income bills & other on weekly spreads and 52 notes pgs for highlights, major spends, things to remember a bottom in red pen. Other notes for details eg. contracts, savings plans, home renovations plan etc. They both fit into one leather folio from a leather shop 😊 paper certainly is joyful for me too. I love your content.🌹 thankyou. 🇦🇺

I have been a follower since you went to grad school I think. You inspire. I use 2 planners. One for my 'work' and one for life. It works for me. I have also a small bullet journal for my EDC. You inspired me to buy my first Weeks. Thank you for keeping it real.

Thank you so so much for your support 🫶 That's an excellent lineup! It sounds so streamlined too. I hope you enjoyed the Weeks. And, I hope to keep sharing despite my new schedule :)

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m not sure if I agree with you on the consumer aspect, as it is not the having of so many different versions of dated products, but the having of a dated product of that version, which is the part that is harder to find understanding from others in the planner community.
Having a single planner for the whole year as it what you can afford and what you want is more, even though you know that you are being a good financial steward of your resources and energy, it is just not joyful to hear about others being able to experience the expensive products as throwing out 3/4 of the notebook since they don’t want to use the same thing for a whole year. It is not hard to change the way a cover looks if someone has a cover on cover and puts in their own pictures or printout of whatever is important for them to see daily.
    That’s my frustration

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate hearing about your struggles. It's saddening to think that planners/books are being discarded in this way 😞 I didn't realise that this was happening. I guess my perspective is not only different but also highly limited. If planner consumerism is not merely buying, but also buying and then discarding planners/books (all new to me!), then I may have more insights than what I previously thought 😅 I will think about a slightly longer discussion about this in my Filofax flip through (next week). You are right in pointing out that it is not joyful to see planners/books not live up to their full potential and discarded 😢

I feel like most people that are overwhelmed don’t know what they need and don’t focus on making sure their planner fits their needs, planning style and goals. They just buy to buy or buy because someone else loves it or it looks pretty when they use it. And don’t focus on the planner doing their job for themselves.
The only thing I get frustrated with is people buying and jumping and never using or finishing them. Having multiple is ok but you need to use them. If they don’t work or life changes that’s one thing. But just hopping because someone else makes a cute spread or because you didn’t try to figure out what you need is not ok imho.

I agree 😄 I also don't find anything wrong with having multiple planners that you use throughout the year in an attempt to explore and improve your planner system/style. I've always thought that it was called planner envy 🤔 which has been around for a while. It's bound to happen and it has happened to me a few times (sadly). It has not been discussed in this way though. Is it different now?

I love the hobonichi weeks so much but I just feel like the 2 pages per week is not enough space for me. I wish I had some good ideas for how to incorporate the extra notes pages into my system so that I could grow past 2 pages per week when needed and still enjoy using the Weeks planner.

I bought a weeks for this year because it has the the layout I like which is a bit difficult to find. I had been using a Moleskine version of this layout but I hate their paper. 😒 I found the weeks was just too small and really pissed me off because of that. I moved back into a Moleskine for this year. In November, I bought an 18 month Moleskine that started in July at a pretty good discount on the Moleskine site. I’ve decided I’m just going to use pencil in it so I don’t get annoyed at the way the paper behaves with ink.

Happy to hear that you're trying out a new planner and have figured out a workaround with the paper. I used a Moleskine too and encountered the same issue with space (I may just be too used to my Hobonichi Weeks). Hope that you Moleskine works for your needs! :)

There a lot of planners that use a horizontal layout like the Moleskine and weeks. Sterling ink has N2 ( same as weeks) and N1 (larger. Standard TN size), AuraEstelle has a B6 so does Papertess. And there’s others too.
