  • In this video, I'm sharing how I got the wet patina look on my 1962 Chevy C10 "Swede" as well as giving the history behind the pickup. Check out how good a little bit of boiled linseed oil made the Chevy C10 look.

The dent in your door is from the door link check breaking. The wind then caught it and slammed into the side of the truck and dented it. Probably more then once.

Your 62 brings back fond memories of my dad’s first p/u a 62 Chevy 1/2 ton 6’ fleetside w/ 235 I6 and 4sp. That was bought by my brother and kept it for 30+ years.
I might be wrong but, it sounds like you have an exhaust leak on the left bank of the engine? It may just be the sound quality playing tricks? If it is a leak then please don’t drive with the windows rolled up and that hole in the trans hump will act as a fume funnel into the cab!
I’m sure you already know this but, I’d feel real bad if I didn’t say anything.
As always be safe and stay healthy!
Ps; Good luck at the car show.

Thanks. I’ll check the exhaust leak.

      Hey Tim,
It might be the donut gasket between the exhaust manifold and exhaust tubing. Also, look for loose/missing exhaust manifold bolts and or cracks, head to manifold gaskets. You may see black carbon from leaks. If your careful you can feel along joints for leaking exhaust.
      Take care

Your truck came stock with either a 235 inline six or if your lucky the 283 v8 small block.

I know Swede has personality with all the patina and stuff. But do you think he will ever deserve a full Restoration one day?. He has been pretty faithful after all. 😄

@@Pickuptrucktalk He does look cool and all but that rust...though I suppose some Por 15 could arrest any further erosion...🤔

Nice running truck. I haven’t seen a shirt bed like that. Had a 63 Longbed step side. Great truck. Had some brake problems so I sold it.
    Bad idea.

Nice truck. Do you have any plans to get the other trucks running and does it have coil springs front and rear?

    • @Pickuptrucktalk
      @Pickuptrucktalk  Před 3 lety +1

Coil springs rear. Honestly, the other truck is sitting in pieces. I ordered a bunch of parts and was going to do a body off frame resto. I don’t have time now. Then there is another truck on a trailer and needs to go to the scrap yard. Not much left of it. It’s a donor truck.

The truck looks great. Did the Boiled Linseed oil leave it sticky to the touch? I use boiled linseed oil for other projects and everything sticks to them.

I prefer the dry look over the wet look. Just looks like you polished a turd. At least you didn't put fake patina on it. That is the worst.
