I just dip texas toast ,or any stale brioche in ready made eggnog with nutmeg ,vanilla, cinnamon sugar , and on to the pan .when you're hungover or hungry and need quick gratification , this is my way
Good for eggnog flavor but nowhere as good as this way of making egg nog french toast.

I'm at mom and pops house here in Reno for christmas with my beautiful lady. We have always done the egg and sausage casserole for breakfast but this makes me want to switch it up. Kent, I’ve been a subscriber for a while now and have never asked a question but could I cheat and use store bought eggnog? I have a large family and do all the cooking so I would love to make this but I do love me a shortcut or two. I’m assuming that I may need to add an egg or two into it if necessary

Ken and Shannon, Thank You ! About 16 years ago a family moved into the neighborhood and we met walking our kids to the bus stop. We became fast friends and the first Christmas she brought over egg nog with a little tiny grater and whole nutmegs. I had never had it before and loved it. Our tradition was always to pass the little grater on to each other for our nutmeg.That was in N.C.and I live in NYC and she lives upstate. I have the original grater that we used and we got together a few weeks ago to go horseback riding and we had egg nog, Food is so tied to memories and its so joyful. I wish your lovely family a wonderful holiday.
I love egg nog but had never seen or tasted home made. It looks delicious and love the idea of adding a touch of alcohol. And I've got to try making French Toast with Egg Nog. When it comes to French Toast, soaking overnight is okay. The cooks on the Union Pacific served up "Super Chief" french toast, which was soaked in a custard made from half and half and eggs. The french toast was then baked in an oven. Many who remembered eating breakfast on the Super Chief fondly remember that dish. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family!😊

Christmas was really difficult for me and my wife since we both live very far away from our families, my wife especially since hers is on the other side of the world. My wife had to work all day Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and neither of us wanted to make a large dinner. Instead, I made this recipe for her in a special Christmas Morning Brunch before she went off to work. I absolutely love this recipe and it is so brilliant. I will be making this dish every year and it has became my new holiday tradition.

Four or five thick pieces of toast dipped in eggnog, before you throw 'em on the stove and then melt a pat of butter between each slice, all drenched in maple syrup. The French toast, oh yeah must be amazing. I always warm up my syrup with butter, keeps it all nice and warm and it seems to soak into the toast, pancake or waffle.
