Old man link watching new link destroy his pots and just accepting it as karma
Hahahahahahhahahahaha
The best comment here.
Poor him
He actually put those pots in his house and resisted the urge to destroy them himself just so that he could meet the next hero
honestly it would be kind of funny to be an elderly link that finds a young boy coincidentally called link and you train him, traveling together up until he vanishes and you feel obligated to pull your gear together again and get back to your old days just to save the young boy you adopted like a son. on the journey you uncover that he is to become the new hero and feel more the need to save him.

I like to imagine that if the current Link failed, the old man would somehow get to Lorule and defeat Ganon. How? Goddess magic or something.
I prefer the idea that he's not celebrating, hes just standing there. Knowing what happened, knowing his successor won, and he looks on in peace, proud of the new Link
He knows Ganon will always return, but he knows he'll always be defeated.

I like to imagine Gramps looking on from the distance during the final battle bow and silver arrows in hand, ready and waiting to jump in if the younger link should fall, only to back away smiling and unnoticed as the young hero prevails, feeling no need to take their moment of triumph and glory from them. He remembers well how his own moment shaped him into the man he is today, how it sparked in him the love for adventure that drove him to travel, see the world, and find people, places, and experiences which still bring a smile to his face as he reminisces all these decades later. Had the hero needed him, he would be there, but he would not steal their glory.
he finally had his own hero 🥲
Now I want a Zelda game that's a Batman Beyond/Mask of Zorro scenario where an Old Link takes on an unchosen young Link as a protégé and trains him to defeat Ganon.
Thats was so gay lol

I really like the idea of this theory, especially since another smaller headcanon I also like (but is also sad) is that every Link is doomed to die young. Seeing the hero of legend might've lived on to old age makes me happy :)
'Doomed to die young'
I have a personal quote- "You're not old until you give up youth." I think that applies here too. :)
late but hero of time link canonically lives until hes old enough to have children at the least, as the hero of twilight link is a direct descendent of his.
@@eddyangstman yeah, not too young, just in general. For time Link specifically I see him dying in his 20s, which is still pretty young, but old enough that he could have had a wife.
@@nottrustworthy6361 the theory that Time Link is seen wearing plate armor because he had to fight in a war when he was old and therefore wasn't as agile as before just makes sense to me. I could genuinely see a Batman Beyond/Mask of Zorro scenario where the chosen hero recognizes that they're too old, so they train an unchosen protégé to defeat Ganon.
@@matthewmuir8884 Or maybe something like StarWars: A New Hope, where old man link accepts death at Darth Ganon's hands, so the Triforce of Courage can pass on to the new kid with a familiar sword he just met in a cantina on the edge of the Gerudo Desert two hours ago.
@@BlackEpyon Maybe, but I think that would be better as something saved for the end of the story (kind of like the original Zorro's death at the end of The Mask of Zorro) and the new Link spending most of the game being infused with some of the Triforce of Courage's power by Old Link in a similar way that Ganondorf infused Zant with some of the Triforce of Power's power.
Another thing that would be cool would be if Old Link essentially acts as the adventuring-companion in the game; communicating to Link through a magic device like Tetra and the King sometimes do in Wind Waker. Imagine New Link using that item to ask for hints, and Old Link thinking to himself, "I hope it never took me this long to figure out a puzzle when I was your age."
One more small thing that could be interesting would be if the new Link has more personal conflict with Ganon's main minion (like Wind Waker Link vs the Helmaroc King because of the Helmaroc King abducting Link's sister), so Old Link initially keeps Ganon occupied while new Link fights said minion, and then new Link fights Ganon immediately afterward.

Botw theory: link learned not to speak as a part of his hero training, the reason why he is so talkative in botw is because he lost his memory
Talkative?
How is he talkative in botw? Zelda literally says he doesn't talk because he has to bear the weight of his task of defeating calamity Ganon....
@@thatssovenus fair point, counterpoint he does talk to npc's a bunch in the game even holding relatively complex conversations. If you read my comment or payed attention to the game (whichever one caused you to point it out), zelda wrote her dairy before his fall to Gannon, bolstering the theory not hindering it.
@Blank L yes but before he loses his memories he tells zelda why he doesn't talk much. He is shouldering burdens in silence as to keep them to himself and not relinquish them onto others.
Someone didn't read Zelda's diary. He's just quiet when he's under stress.
"Bit by bit, I've gotten Link to open up to me. It turns out he's quite a glutton. He can't resist a delicious meal! When I finally got around to asking why he's so quiet all the time, I could tell it was difficult for him to say. But he did. With so much at stake, and so many eyes upon him, he feels it necessary to stay strong and to silently bear any burden. A feeling I know all too well... For him, it has caused him to stop outwardly expressing his thoughts and feelings."
He had to have had several conversations with Zelda in order to open up to her "bit by bit"
Also, in several of his memories he is seen alone with each of the champions. They all had quite a bit to say to him, unless they all like to monologue for hours on end.
And I doubt waking up to not knowing anything about yourself and being sent on a quest by a fraking ghost is a relaxing time that allows one to loosen up.

I never got far enough in the sidequest
Do you even know what literally means?
Never underestimate an old man in a profession where men die young; Ganondorf better hope he doesn't run into a Link who's old and experienced.
It's possible that when the hero "reincarnates" it's just the hero's spirit housed within the master sword choosing the next hero to share the power with. This would explain having two heroes at one time as well as the hero of legend retaining some of the strength despite not having the original masterword.
So not only would Fi and the power of the goddess be in the mastersword but also the hero himself in some ambiguous form.
Kinda like how All-might could still go swole after giving Deku one for all?
So basically the Master Sword is a Pokéball you can kill monsters and the monster king himself with..
Link when throwing the Master Sword: ,,MASTER SWORD, GOOOO!"
That makes me think, Link kinda reminds me of Finn from adventure time. Finn also has a heroes spirit that reincarnates.
Finn has reincarnated 6 times starting from the blue catalyst comet,
To a butterfly,
To a "thing",
To a girl named Shoko,
To Finn himself,
And to shermy.
The master sword doesn’t give physical strength. Its the abilities it offers if blessed. Otherwise its simply the finest sword in existence.
Except not every hero wields the Master Sword
The Hero of men
Minish Cap
Four Swords
Four Swords Adventures
Spirit Tracks
None of these ever use the Master Sword
It would be kinda badass if this was the same Link. Like, he's so powerful, he literally refuses to die for another Link to inherit his soul...

After seeing the evidence and knowing the fact multiple Zeldas with the power have been alive at the same time. I'm thoroughly convinced the Gramps is the Hero of Legend.

@YGuy1 right! Plus I feel like Zelda and Link are more titles/names given to the Goddess and Hero. Not like an actual name but a classification. Which could explain why we normally have the option to name Link ourselves.
Josh Adkins That incorrect. Sleeping zelda is not from any other zelda game. She from the later part of the downfall timeline in which a angry wizard cast a sleeping spell on her cause she would not tell him or her brother about the missing triforce. Stop enjoying yourself in your free time and get back to reuploading your time travel video to stick it to Toei, already. How dare you not constantly entertain us?
I don’t mind Japan’s androgynous man boys ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I have always wanted a Dark Souls style Zelda game about the Hero's Shade with horribly dark and depressing themes, with Hero of Time Link as a badass grey haired, wise old man, traveling through the ages and failing, with themes of lonlieness and utter hopelessness
I really like this theory, makes Gramps seem even more like a badass
There’s a reason this old man link is so badass. The downfall timeline simply needed to compensate for OOT Link’s failure
Link: "It's dangerous to go alone, take this"
Rhoam: "Wait, what"
lol
That would be quite the plot twist lmao
Yes
XD
Now i kinda want a darker Zelda where a old Link is the hero. Maybe like it starts normally in the intro. You do the three dungeons to get the Master Sword, you go to face Ganon and... lose. You can't beat him. Ganon destroys Link, and takes over Hyrule, reigns and Link has to go into exile for failing his people. He trains and grows stronger and wiser, and as an old man, he returns to fight Ganon once more.
So it could be kinda BotW-ish with that timeskip theme. But we get a old Link who experiences the consequences of his failure firsthand.
A twilight princess follow up game with an old Link as the hero would be really cool too
One where two heros coexist and the young one is destroyed and the old familiar link has to save the world again.
I feel like an old Link being the protagonist wouldn’t sell well.
Chidinma Irabor idk, it could. You never know. It would appeal to older audiences more prolly
If he had a kid, then we could literally remake god of war
It's also possible that Gramps is already a poe, but has made himself still look like he is alive. Poes can make themselves look like Hylians such as the King did in BotW in the beginning. He held on to make sure that the next link is ready to take his role. It can also help explain the spirit of the hero as well. The only issue I can think of that being an issue is if Link poe still holding onto the spirt of the hero or can that be passed on otherwise?
It would be really nice if gramps would mention Koholint Island or at least it's inhabitants. He promised to always remember them or at least to remember Marin. It would be a great callback to Links awakening

I agree this theory could be true. I'd like confirmation from Nintendo but I really like this theory. Splitting the soul of the hero into 2 pieces is perfectly plausible if one hasn't died yet of old age or battle at that point
Another hint that he's a Link is where he looks to be standing in the village with those 7 stones on the ground. Him in the middle with 6 all around him just like Link and the 6 sages in the sacred realm.

Gramps wont let me ride my fucking bike indoors yet
What if the imp's curse to halve Link's magic in Link to the Past, not only accidentally doubled his magic, but also doubled his lifespan?
Omg...wait I JUST REALIZED THAT...okay just read this:
If you speak to the male front guard in Zora’s domain, he’ll say to Link that the two used to play together as a child. He then says that he’s 130 years old. Okay, so I’m guessing everyone assumed that Link was about 118 but he must be older than that. When the guard was a child, Link wouldn’t have been born...unless he was older than that. Also, Mipha mentions in the “Mipha’s Touch” memory cutscene that, and I quote, “I thought it was odd that you looked older much sooner than I did.” What if he looked that way because he WAS older. So, had Link lied about his age? Regardless, he forgot about it from amnesia so it doesn’t really matter now, but still...
Or Zoras are children for longer.
In which game is this?
Zora age much slower than Hylians do. Although it is still possible that Link lied about his age at some point. It's never really made clear.
It was explicitly part of BotW that Zora have FAR longer lifespans. ALL of the Zora adults were alive at the time of the calamity with Link, and most of them remember him. There's also the side quest of helping a Hylian and Zora fall in love, and while the Hylian is physically an adult and the Zora a child, the Hylian remarks "she's a lot older than me".
I salute you old man, you're a veteran at any age, you'll always be remembered, you're the strongest guy in Hyrule, I cannot believe you're in four games, you are unstoppable!!!, And when you finally go, may your soul rest in peace, in the great sky or in the sacred realm with the three goddesses, LINK, MASTER OF HYRULE!!!!!!!!!!!!
What if link is the OLD MAN that gives you your sword in the original game.
Even a hylian wouldn't live that long.
Also of all things, why would he give you a basic wooden sword?
Even if there was no master sword to hand over the Hero Of Legend would've had some better weapons.
Or do u mean Albw Link?
But it's an old man that gives you every sword. Are you saying it can't be the same old man?
@@Urinal that would make sense since the swords were heart locked. You couldn't get them unless you earned the right with heart count. So old link probably gave crappy swords to make sure you were ready for the next. Testing the new hero to be.
Based on the Chronology of the Zelda games, many generations prospered and no "Hero" was needed and the King always had the Complete Tri-Force, when the last King's Son didn't display the traits the King thought the next ruler should have, he split the Tri-Force and onlg gave his Son "Power & Wisdom" Zelda knew the Location of "Courage" but wouldn't tell her Brother, he got a Wizard to put Zelda into an Eternal Sleep. Feeling Bad the Brother Decreed that all future Princesses would be named Zelda.
Link from "Between Worlds & Tri-Force Heroes, & Adventures of Link" is long gone when TLOZ starts and This new Link starts up the Quest to find the 8 pieces of "Wisdom" and Save the Current Princess Zelda from Ganon.
Which the Sleeping "Zelda of old" is still Slumbering, though it doesn't outright state how long it's been, the Kingdom Divided and reduced in size, which would take a while.
Though it is Feesable TLOZ clearly states, "In the midst of this chaos, in a little kingdom in the land of Hyrule, a legend was being handed down from generation to generation, the legend of the 'Triforce'; golden triangles possessing mystical powers" which usually a Legend dictates a very very long time.
Unless Nintendo gives an exact timeframe, and its within 6 generation, like this current theory video makes a very reasonable argument as to it being quite possible... I simply don't see a Legend being a good timeframe for this theory of yours...
And last but not least... Most of the Time Link pulls the "Sword" Master or otherwise out of a pedestal, and gets his swords by other means.. Like the Kokiri Sword in OoT.. Or BoTW.
Enjoy that hella long reply.. Lol
I have seen this theory many times before now, but you probably presented it the best I've seen here, and clearly laid out all the points very well.
Good job!
I had just got ALBW working with the 3ds emulator and now because of this video I have the urge to play it and also the Links Awakening remake they better get that switch emulator working better as the legend continues and there many reasons to play every Zelda with these games being the reason for emulation for what game worked best on the Super Nintendo A Link to the Past and with the N64 emulation the Ocarina of Time and every then on to every Nintendo emulator there is period.
@Nooby Knight he never specified he was pirating the games.
It is of course possible to emulate games on pc by copying the data from a copy you already own onto your PC.
(although that is a very rare case, but you shouldn't just assume emulation = piracy)
@Nooby Knight You can download them if you own them legally that is how most people get them.
@Nooby Knight You have found the grey area of the law.
@Jeremy Madison Should have had more than one... period.

I'd go with the Link in the Skyward Sword manga bein' 25 years old, but still left-handed. The only Link we see die at the very end. AFTER he wins against Demise. A very, slow death, just like the one in the manga.
@@truelionofhylia8152 I thought Link was supposed to be high school age in Skyward Sword.
@@CPT85 He was. Skyward Sword's Link n' Zelda, they'd both be 17 years old. Then the ones in Ocarina of Time in the Hero of Time era (and the kid timeline in the 7 years after Ganondorf's criminal intentions got exposed, which led to the war that destroyed the Hyrule they knew).
He could be 120 years old now. Him AND his Zelda.
@@truelionofhylia8152 So they made him 25 in the Skyward Sword manga? Any idea what’s up with that?
The Legendary Hero is a badass, and he’s in my all time favorite game: LTTP
Old Link: "Get over here, boy!"
Oops wrong game.
Honestly, I love this theory so much! It explains so much, and the evidence in favour of the old man being the original Link seems to pretty much outweigh any evidence to the contrary, in my humble opinion! And yes, Link the Hero of Legend is the most badass and accomplished Link of any in the series! :)
i could see old Link as an Option for a New Game + with increased difficulty: At the End of the Game you get the Option for:
Reincarnate => Start a regular New Game +
Retire => Start a New Game + as old man with upped difficulty (do less damage, have less hitpoints, and either you move slower or enemies move faster) and modified story. Maybe make the dungeons more difficult by slightly altering their design
About your last thing, where the dungerons' designs are different? Well, his memory ain't what it used to be :)
That’s actually really cool that two heroes can be in the same game
.....Ahhhh, In Twilight Princess, it had the Hero of Time as the Hero's Shade and the Hero of Twilight
in tri-force heroes you see two links as well
@First Name Last Name some will say the one from a link to the past but who knows imgur.com/a/zpjvJCN

@@dereklewis4321 lol
Oh my goddess this is actually an insanely possible theory and makes a lot of sense considering his boss fight as always your theories are super intresting like the death sword theory

Oh my god. I always knew something was strange about him when I saw his representation in the credits... and I never knew you could fight him. Wow, this hit me hard.
This is so good. Amazing theory that fits perfectly the most badass and legendary Links of all. However, I'm also thorned about two Links at the same time. The soul of the champion of the goddess reincarnates every time the world is in great peril. So maybe it's not reincarnation process, but something like "being blessed or bestowed with the essence of the champion" and this blessing can apparently be shared. Now, Gramps being stronger than the two main bosses of the game makes me think that he still has the blessing or the soul of the champion within... he could have saved the world again by himself. It's a very complex character haha.
I would love, LOVE to play as old man Link! A battle-worn, weary old Link that's already bested Gannon at least once and is ready to settle down and retire, then BAM! Gannon comes back and now you have to play as old man Link while training up your successor, God of War style.
Uncle Iroh Link.
(...but I still want a Triforce Teamup. Even if it only exists in my fanfiction. Link actually having his triforce doin’ stuff beside “yer a Hero, Linkie!”, Zelda allowed to fully unleash her powers and pursue her interests in science and anthropology vs being damselled, a Ganondorf who isn’t the same one as the guy Twinrova keeps “resurtecting”/repeatedly sealed away just saying “yeah, we’re not doing that” to the whole “conquer the world by destroying it utterly” thing)
@@anonymousfellow8879 i had a similar idea, except ganondorf isnt really any different, theres just a new evil so big and so bad that even he is like "well screw this, i'd rather fight with them than let you succeed" similar to that moment in subspace emissary where link wakes ganondorf and rather than fight him simply points at the greater enemy above
trekman1701
Yeah. I just reeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyy wanna see “Din’s Chosen” not be the designated bad guy/the Three just getting tired of rehashing the same ol’ cycle of their predecessors.
It’s kinda been confirmed that what set Ganondorf on that path was getting fed up with his people dying due to being forced by the Hylians to live out in the desert with the only way to get the basic necessities to live was to take it by force (them being “thieves” implies...well, they can’t produce, and no one will trade with them. Hylians view them as prostituting savages...which as any woman can tell you, when a man thinks he has a “right” to you, ya tend to go Amazon just to be left alone.) And the Hylians are a pretty racist bunch to other groups, the Gerudo just get the shortest end of the stick (well, except maybe the Sheikah-servant race whose numbers have mysteriously been decimated in most games they appear? Honestly I can hardly blame them splintering into the Yiga or abandoning their skills in BotW)
Instead of a veteraned Link fighting a Ganon(dorf) he defeated once already, I'd like if they brought Aghanim and Vaati into the 3d games. Also the series needs more meaningful NPCs. For hyrule to be a kingdom, it always seems to have a lack of residents aside from 1-2 towns.
THE LINK IN THE LINK’S AWAKENING REMAKE ALSO HAS BEADY EYES, JUST LIKE GRAMPS
I was just about to comment this, great minds think alike!👍
Same 😅
Link's Awakening's Link is the same from Link to the Past right?
lAMZELLO
If you subscribe to the historia, then technically “yes”
If you’re like me and find Word of God stuff like the historia (ie, not actual games, but side content, interviews, etc) sketchy...then depends on your headcanon. Personally I have the most fun and least headache with just treating the games as standalone Legends UNLESS another game directly references an older game in such a way that ties it directly into its plot.
@@coledewey3564 don't you mean great minds think *alink*
I'm pretty sure Hylians live significantly older ages than humans. I'm pretty sure their average age span is around 150-175, as presented by some of the older characters in BotW. I can easily see how 100-115 years later, (six generations) a young adult could still be alive, and if that person kept themselves healthy and fit, could still put up a strong fight even at that older age.
A link to the past was the first video game I ever played and beat when I was a kid, and probably started my love of Zelda and video games. Hearing ya talk about my boy like a legend made me feel really nostalgic so thank you, now I'm off to be the hero once again.
Old Man Link.
Wow, that sounds actually badass.
Like old man Logan.
If Old man Kratos came to be, Old man Link MUST come to be.
When you realize you been technically beatin the shit out of yourself.
I like this, and him having a Golden Master Sword actually fits with another theory I have, which is that the Master Sword in ALTTP is different than the master sword in everything else. Note how it's black with a red & gold hilt and non-winged crossguard, as compared to white with a blue-purple hilt and winged crossguard, as well as the eye-shaped gem instead of the regular one.
It also is noted as having a completely different origin than seen in Skyward Sword.
This theory of the Master Sword from ALTTP being a replica is also supported by, of all things, Breath of the Wild.
You see, the Royal Guard Sword has the following description
"*A Sheikah-made replica of the sword that seals the darkness. It was made with ancient technology to oppose the Great Calamity, but its low durability made it inefficient.*"
And, look at it's appearance - black with a red hilt and a crossguard that is less winged than the Master Sword proper. While not a perfect match, they are evidence for a precedence of black and red replica Master Swords made out of despiration when the Master Sword proper is not available.
Then, in ALTTP, Link does upgrade this replica Master Sword to have a golden blade.
Tldr, I think Gramps' Master Sword is really the Master Sword in ALTTP... Which is actually a replica of the true Master Sword.
Worth to note, the Hero of Legend also happens to be one of 3 heroes who time travels... soo maybe he doesn't actually need to be 100-something years old
Temple of Time in Twilight Princess counts too. The treasure chest and how the Dominion Rod rusted are pretty solid evidence
No. The Oracle games doesn't take place between ALttP and LA any longer. That was retconned.
Zachary Erickson maybe he wanted to go forward to find a time he could prepare the next hero so that he wouldn’t be bested like the hero of time....
Zachary Erickson why? It makes more sense. The triforce sends link to holodrum/labrynna then link sails back to hyrule and that’s when he gets shipwrecked
@@crumman4299 Now that's a great baseline for a strong story.

Technically, yes he is, but in outward appearance, knowledge and other things that come with time, he is still the same age he was before he was laid to heal
You know its kinda fitting that the hero of legend has a ton of feats. Its kinda like getting back for the hero of time dying in that timelime.
Man, you have an incredible way of telling stories. That's so appreciated.
Gramps was looking for a powerful adversary so he specifically made shadow LINKS that seems like solid evidence to me
I mean to be fair, shadow link was powerful, but never a match for real Link. I'm pretty sure most of the Shadow Links were the dark forms or negative emotions that Link possessed, of which he always beat.. So... Shadow Link would never be a match for the Hero of Legend
Hah, the *Old Man* is *A Link To The Past* ! Just like a real old person!

this seems like a total possibility being as it is and his line saying hes glad hero's like "link" are still in this world keep up the good content, as long as they are possible i wont sleep
Thinking over the possibility of an old man Link, I imagine there's a potential story or two to be had from the child-timeline Hero of Time's travels through the world. A mysterious old swordsman, righting wrongs as he finds them before quietly wandering off again, much like he did in Termina.
Holy shit. I never even knew that you could fight the old man! Great theory btw.
If Kojima can do an old snake, we should have an old link.
Uhh... I don't know, I think I'm perfectly content with a young Link--the idea of an old Link is just too weird, lol.
Give Link a bandana and eyepatch...
Give us two links, an old one that is just past his prime, and a young one that isn't ready yet.
You play both, first the old one, trying to defeat Ganon, but he can't. So he is defeated. Then, the young Link shows up and the old one trains him. Together they go out and defeat Ganon, complementing each others shortcomings.
Heroic Sacrifice by the old one in the end is optional.
Kojima would absolutely make Zelda do a weird suggestive scene
Clarice Henderson smokes a pipe too.
Does wild link count as an old man he look young for his age but he's still over a 100 years old
I don't think so, while he was in the shrine of resurrection he was in a state of stasis, meaning that he wouldn't change from when he was put there. Time for him froze and started passing again when he woke up. So, theoretically, he has 100 years more, but for him that time hasn't passed.
@@shinybearevidra but still technically
@@trogon4503 Biologically yes but technically he was “alive” for those 100 years exactly like Aang from ATLA. Frozen in time and when they woke up they were still mentally and physically their respective ages before being in a “statis state” despite 100 years passing but technically still a 100 years older.
@Roger Loe she's in a similar situation, being sealed with the calamity.
@Roger Loe that was different, he had to grow to be able to wield the sword. This time, Zelda is delaying the inevitable and Link is recovering from the injuries.
11:05 "too old for adventure" the God say...while the old Link is literally doing a push up with one fingger and being very OP.
It's like
Adventurer: you're not going with me?.
NPC: oh, I used to be like you too kid, but I think I can't do another adventure as I'm "not as fit" as when I was you (while litterally being more fit/OP than the young adventurer)
Adventurer: yeah...sure I:/
NPC: don't disrespect me! *boss fight begins* (litteraly the hardest boss in the game) XD lol
If you saw someone who use to work in a work that has high probability of dying young(soldier, adventurer, or hero) especially in fantasy/RPG world, and still live to his old age...don't mess with him/her...it's a veteran!!

Like seriously I could write an entire fanfiction series with how much headcanon I have for Gramps just watching this:
Link becoming so powerful and proud he challenges the gods and usurps one, but it's this long-drawn out diety conspiracy that humbles him. He sets out on one last quest to cure his immortality. The Triforce does not grant his wish, so to gain an even greater power, he learns that he must release enough energy for the wish he needs. He strikes it with a magical hammer with his Godly Strength, so hard it shakes the Dark World and creates an imperfect copy, of it and the Triforce, creating Lorule. This returns the mantle to the God of Valor, sufficiently weakening him enough for the spirit of the hero to become reincarnated once again.
hmm ok the drugs are wearing off
rayjinflo nice
At first I thought that this would be a shitty theory about how the old man in the first game is the Hero but instead I got this very believable and coherente theory that I think is true. And for the fact that there can't be two hero at the same time, I don't think that Gramps is a hero anymore, he's fullfilled his role and I think that now he's just a buff old guy benefitting from all the training he had as a hero.
From the training he would be strong yes however, he wouldn't have the heroes cutting edge and clearly he is over powered, perhaps even stronger than the hero
What a dope video !!!!
It’s crazy the amount of work you put into all your videos !!!!!!!
Love this channel so glad I found it !
I like this theory a lot. It’s a heartwarming, overlooked story detail in one of my favorite Zelda games :)
"The credits are full of major characters" ah yes the cuco minigame is definitely major characters.
I mean fair point, but Also, what's a game without deadly chicken swarms as an only unkillable threat? How elce can we WARN the next generation not to hit chickens with swords?
I never had enough streetpass encounters to fight him...
WHEN YOU PAUSED AND SAID "BEAUTIFUL" LMAOOOOOO
Two points:
One, there were two Zeldas in Zelda II. I don’t see why the same couldn’t be true for the Links in A Link Between Worlds.
Two (which is kind of a stretch), Old Link/Gramps references stuff outside of the game like Streetpass. I know a lot of NPCs break the fourth wall like this (like saying “press Z to target me” or something) and that that type of dialogue can be easily changed to reflect what they actually, canonically said. Are these NPCs actually acknowledging the player’s controller? I think they’re giving Link real instructions and the lens through which we’re playing the game is turning what they said into usable advice. If that makes sense. Like not everything you see in games is a literal representation of what’s actually canonically happening (e.g. Link picking up an item without physically grabbing it and it just disappearing into his pockets). But still Gramps does break the fourth wall a little by referencing Streetpass and if anyone was going to be able to do that… it’d be someone who was previously playing a Zelda game. I dunno only the first point really makes sense but I think how to interpret things that don’t make sense in video games is an interesting topic for discussion.
This is probably one of my favorite Zelda theories now
Honestly, I'd like to see an Old Man Link. It'd be so cool to see him gruffer and battle-hardened rather than just another rookie.
