First there was the e-tron, then the e-tron GT, now Audi are back with their new premium electric SUV - bizarrely named the Q4 e-tron!
This is cheaper, smaller, more city friendly version of the e-tron, essentially it's a bit less posh. But this is no bad thing, in fact, it might actually be better than it's predecessors as it has been built from the ground up on VW Group's MEB platform. Now VW Group have invested in this modular platform, they will be able to churn out lots of different EVs in a quick and cost effective way.
The Q4 might look compact on the outside but it's incredibly spacious inside and packed with responsive technology. It might not be the sportiest EV but its got a bit of poke and clearly Audi are more focused on the driving experience being easy and comfortable.
The Q4 is Audi's way of telling us they are all in on electric, reinforced by their target of this being their 2nd best selling model by the end of 2022. So, what do you think of the design? Tell us in the comments.

I was thinking of buying my current Etron off of lease to save $$ but it now feels so dated and limited in range. The Q4 is a real EV. And it does feel roomier then the 2019 Etron. Even my kids felt the same way in the back seat area. Strangely, I’m also looking at the Etron GT. Totally different animal, but the EV of it all in the Q4 is very likable. This would be my third EV. Tesla Model 3, Etron 2019 and the next Audi. It’s hard to go back to a Tesla after experiencing Audi lux and finish. The simple climate control is SO much better-have to underline that fact.

I test drove it on Monday - To say that I was incredibly psyched would be an understatement (Audi Fanboi right here....) ... I've now tried a few EVs within my budget, and although this sits at the top of that, I figured I could justify it because its an Audi - my dream car brand....
What an incredible letdown it was. Hugely disappointed by the interior quality, whilst I still love the exterior look that alone is no persuasion to buy it. The drive was comfortable but average at best. I preferred the Peugeot 2008 over this so-called Audi offering and it's half the price. Shocking.

I’m a company car driver and on my company scheme the Q4 is cheaper than an Enyaq and about the same as an XC40 so the high ;list price for a Q4 isn’t an issue for me. I really liked the refinement and interior on my test drive and TBH choosing an Audi over a Skoda when it’s cheaper (as a company car) is a no brainier. End of Feb for delivery for mine. Can’t wait.

I totally understand, and from an efficiency stand point absolutely agree, that the luxury SUVs adapted from ICE are “worst” cars than they electric ground up counter parts, but… what we also have to take into consideration is that the luxury automakers are absolutely cheaping out while doing so.
The Q4 can be more efficient but its materials, apparent quality, and ride feel like a VW. When you step out of this and step into the original e tron it feels like you stepped out of a VW Golf and into an Audi A6.
I’ve tested both back to back and with discounts they are almost the same prince. Unless I absolutely needed the range I would choose the original every day of the week.
And speaking of least efficient EV conversions, is the iX3 really less efficient than an Q4 etron?
