Ironically, this is his most legendary line and his friends weren't there to see it
Well, we all have our own adventures and small beautiful moments that we keep in our own personal records, not the public ones. After all, what's life without mystery?? We don't REALLY NEED to know EVERYTHING about our friends, just a handful of important facts will do. I think that by preserving the secrets of some things make them all the more special.
but they know it ... it's not the line.... it's the moment , you'll get it when you're older
@@iamryanghosling Its as you said. Its not the line, its the moment. They only know the line, they did not experience it.
"They were not there to see it."
True
this line sounds legendary bcz his frnds were not there....otherwise i wouldn't be that much legen...... dary
we all love the friends thing, but "take care of the game for me" is just soul touching
fr
Chills
Yeah almost cried
💯🥺enough to make a grown man cry
@@theshaikhayaan same
Barney's advice about moments not being legendary without friends is actually good.
0:20 : Where men cried
Actually cried 😭 it was so awsome
guilty
I find this episode to be one of the best examples of Barney's development. The way he mentored those two guys, passing on his wisdom, shows how truly ready he is to give it all up and settle down with Robin. I love season 9 so much.
what ep
Until the last episode. I always pretend that last episode never happened because it didn’t make any sense
It makes total sense and is the perfect ending for the show. i just hoped they brought it differently
Lastshadow dude barney makes a playbook 2 why is that a thing like wtf
@@jeninjaradat4308 the alternate ending THE ALTERNATE ENDING
Being mentored by Barney is the greatest priviledge a man could ever hope to receive. I salute you broda.
Also we need a new series with these two guys showing off Barney's teachings
Yes, we do need a show about those two guys.
exactly
I agree never thought about that
We have too many crappy spinoffs ruining great shows already. I understand that when you love a show you don't want it to end. But usually it's better to end it in a good way than to drag the series out to the point where it becomes boring.
Not only is "whatever you do in this life, it's not legendary unless you're friends are there to see it" possibly his best line in the whole show, but "take care of the game for me" is just so poetic and beautiful and it shows how important the game was to him and how important robin is to him now.
*Legen-wait for it-dary*
It was Barney's "I liked it. I was good at it." moment.

You're goddamn right!
He passes the "torch" to these dudes but in the end he goes back at it again... thats why i hate the ending....
That's what I don't get, so much character development ruined within a single episode
@@peoplepeople21 In my opinion it made complete sense for Barney to go back to his old ways after divorcing Robin. Barney truly and deeply loved Robin, sure he felt strongly for other women (i.e. Quinn and Nora), but Robin was the final play
(some pun intended -Comment Five!-).
So to go through all that, to give up his play boy persona and pass on his knowledge to the next generation, to finally marry “the one” in a show that put alot of emphasis on the fact that once you find "the one", that's it, your in. To do all that just for it to all come crumbling down was too much for Barney. He didn’t want to fall in love again. He gave his relationship with Robin all he had and it still wasn't enough, so he just wanted to go back to being a play boy again. To quote the man himself "Look, I know there was a time when it seemed like I was capable of going the distance, but if it wasn't gonna happen with Robin....then it's just not gonna happen with anyone."
At this point, Barney is tired of being hurt , and you can’t get hurt if you never let anyone in to begin with. Barney just wants to be happy, and if that means hitting on drunk chicks half his age then we should let him!
@@peoplepeople21 in the end I think Barney did change, sure he went back to sloots but look at the day of the wedding, how he told those girls off for doing tequila shots. The old Barney would have easily sealed the deal.
@@peoplepeople21 YES BUT IN THE END HE HAD A KID AND THATS IT..LIFE HAS FOOD THINGS THAT ALST FOR A LONG TIME..SOME THAT LAST FOREVER..SOME THAT LAST FOR WHILE..BUT WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO MOVE ON
@Harley Moore 🤦🤦🤦
Not the spinoff we deserve, but the spinoff we need
Whatever you do in this life, its not legendary unless your friends are there to see it.
The best thing Barney Stinson ever said!! 🌻
"new! alternate series ending!" best promo for the HIMYM DVD
Great scene showing Barney's character development. He's passing the torch - someone will take care of The Game, because he doesn't have to, he already won. Barney is getting married to the woman he loves. No Game for him, but that's a good thing.
And then you throw all of this out with the worst ending since Mass Effect 3. Good job!

I dont know where people thought the mass effect ending would go tbh. It had to end somehow. Write a better ending and I'll subscribe lol
Yea horrible ending
I hate the fact that robin and barney divorced because it completely resets barneys character and makes scenes like this meaningless
this and the moment barney bought a flight back to new york for lily just for her to ge back with marshall are the 2 most lagendary things hes ever done and in both ocations he just wanted to keep it for himself, it just shows how humble this character truly is
One of the best scenes in the show
He passed on his wisdom which is the point where he is officially done with his single line.
It's really sad "take care of the game for me"
I cried
One of the best moments of the series. Barney reflecting on his life and experiences and telling them as life lessons to those kids ending it with a passing of the torch moment passing the game to those kids just before getting married...kind of like Barney tying up the loose ends of his single life. Amazing
People give the last season shit for it's ending but thses moments are great
It would be fun to see these guys in how I met your father
Should have made a tv show about the life of these two guys after this.
Whatever you do in this life, it's not legendary, unless your friends are there to see it
Watching Barney all night long write the playbook from memory so drunk he comes back jabba drunk is amazing
take care of the game for me will always hit hard
Whatever you do in this life it"s not legendary unless your friends are there to see it.
Woow
Yea big smoke 🤣
Great advice given
This for me is very very emotional 😢
Even though this isnt the final point where he gives it up, i’m glad having the kid woke his ass up xD
they wrote this great passing the torch moment only to make Barney regress in the end.
"whatever you do in this life, it isn't legendary unless your friends are there to see it" This is an amazing piece of advice, and I will take it with me the rest of my life and even pass it onto my own children when the time comes
Bro I cried that's was so awesome
the ultimate Star Wars reference…the final words of Master Yoda “pass on what you have learned” well done Broda
im in fucking tears bros...take care of the game for me....
Himym was one of my favorite shows. It's last season was too sad eatching them grow apart..I miss my friends. I feel like as we are growin up , we are growing apart. And it hurts as fuck .
Character growth!!! Friends could have learned a thing or two had it went before HIMYM. Friends didn’t write quite as deep or long-term minded as HIMYM.
As much as I love friends, it’s sad to see how swept under HIMYM really went. The show even got overshadowed by the big bang theory during the run! Always doing maybe half that in terms of viewership as BBT. BBT did just as well as friends averaging around 20 million viewers a week where as HIMYM averaged 8-10 million.
Friends has went on to become an iconic show today and just a very fact that it just simply was not on par with HIMYM and that shows like BBT go over more is heartbreaking. I guess people do not have long-term attention spans these days. HIMYM truly tested that in people. Especially during its run and before it wrapped and landed on Netflix in 2015 or so.
Those who stuck with it from beginning to end understand the depth of it, even The fans who came later Benj watching it on Netflix can recognize the higher quality show that HIMYM is.
Friends had a great cast and I love the characters and it focused more on just being funny and avoiding any serious scenes except for maybe a couple… never going as deep or emotional as HIMYM. And it’s because sitcoms are usually afraid to do that. It’s tough to balance comedy and real emotion in a 30 minute episode so shows rarely ever do this. It’s maybe the one hour dramedy that will touch it.
But the fact that HIMYM did it so well and managed to wrap a story 9 years in the making so beautifully (all-in-all) - testifies to it’s superiority.
It, nor any of its cast members, ever really received the credit it deserves . But it’s the hardcore fan base that know what it could do and continue to support it that make it all worthy.
Stinson Barney Stinson that guy's awesome....AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEE.................
Barney passing his legacy was end of an era.
I don't know if it was on purpose, but Barney seems sobered-up for his last line-and-a-half there
Its like the holy book
This is the actual ending. Not the playbook-2
It’s not legendary if your boys are not here to see it what a line
Love barneys character. He does pass the torch to some random dudes, worth a spin off ? Nha how ever we forget that he broke the only rule a guy can have, lets not forget she (robin) was vulnerable at that moment, the bro took advantage of the situation at the end Robin ends up with Ted cause thats the way it was meant to be. Destiny kids
These two should be in HIMYF. Let's see how they do using the playbook.
Kinda wish we got a spin off.
When barney made two more barneys

Alternate series ending?
Dafuq?
Not a new ending really more like a cut, it ends when Ted and Tracey meet on the train station, starts playing music, the train comes and it cuts to the serie's title. Basically cutting out what people didn't like, Barney and Robin's divorce and Tracey's death.
kimse kalmadı, hiç kimse.
9. Sezon 17. Bolum /19:10
Ruined by the official ending it should have ended at the train station under the rain with the mother and red meeting
Well barney's baby made him retire the game not robin.
this clip proves that he shouldn’t have separated with robin, and he shouldn’t have gone back to womanizing in the final episode. the playbook symbolizes him giving up on it for all time.
This is why I hated the ending. All this development just thrown out the window
