Exactly, so many talented singers were SOOOO far down on the list and singers like AURORA should have been on the list for sure.
The fact that Kelly Clarkson was so low was a crime. Also, I think singers like Jennifer Hudson, Cynthia Erivo, and Amber Riley deserve a mention. They are vocal beasts!
There are so many singers out there that there should be a qualifying filter; like had to have had a Billboard #1. And that’s not even going to include a ton of international, Broadway, etc. singers.
I was patiently waiting for Jennifer Hudson and her name never showed up :/

In my opinion, Paul McCartney is one of the greatest singers of all time just for how he is able to do folk singing, soft and smoother singing, gritty singing for heavy rock, and all kinds of other types of singing and how he does all of those almost flawlessly. It sounds so good every time

As a Lana fan I expected them to put this clip in and put it low but she has multiple other performances where she sounds amazing as well she's changed her tone a lot in the past years.

he's my fav singer-songwriter, but his songs are simple to sing, his voice is great, but his vocal range is only on the higher end, also technically he's not a great singer, he just hits the notes, mostly when he sings high. It's about voice control and power, and I don't think Ed has that. But he's for sure one of the greatest writers and successful artists since the Beatles and Michael Jackson.

It doesn’t say so in the title or is trying to be that. The problem with this list is fantastic singers being ranked as “level 50” just because others are better. Almost all professional singers(even poor ones like Selena Gomez) would be at least level 60-70+.

Amy Lee of evanescence is one of the best vocalists in the rock genre. Plus she is a trained opera singer and her voice is hypnotic. She deserves to be here.

Where is Paul McCartney?? The man has gone through so much, and can do it all, from heavy metal in 'helter skelter' to jazz in 'baby's request' or 'my valentine'. His vocal range is also insane seeing how low he can go in 'the girl is mine feat. Michael Jackson', and how high he can go in 'oh darling' or 'ive got a feeling'.
So many great singers but that clip of Etta gave me crazy chills. So good.

A lot of Broadway singers are missing from the list - some of the most technically proficient and beautiful singers out there
I agree with you, but I enjoy Broadway and think there's a ton of talent. But this is a pop music channel specifically, and the creators don't generally enjoy the Broadway style or voice much at all.
It's about more than singing, as they mentioned in the video. The reality is many of those broadway singers would fail and probably never get a hit if they tried as they often don't have what is needed.

This list wasnt 100 best singers, they chose chose singers they thought best represented each level but of course there are countless out there that coulda taken the place of on of the artist's in the video.

While I was watching this video, I was noticing a few things. There's a lot of artists who have been experienced tragic moments in their lives in a variety of ways. I've wondered many times over the years what their lives was like when the spotlights are off them. We hear about drugs, alcohol and suicidal thoughts and feelings on the news. It breaks my heart that so many singers and entertainers sing and write their music so everyone can enjoy their songs. While they could be facing a lot of personal things and heartache in their lives. I've thought about this many times over the years. On this video there's so many singers who had had an abundance of heartaches in their lives.
I notice that this video is called "Singers from Level 1 to Level 100". So it seems to be a combination of style and vocal ability. I personally would have loved Mike Patton getting a mentioned due to skill and the quality of his voice. But I understand that he is probably not mainstream enough. For skill and range, Dimash should be there. I seem to remember Joel mentioning being obsessed with Sohyang, so she should probably have been there as well.
This was such a strange idea, cause a lot of the lower ones are bad performances from generally good singers. I'm sure you could find performances from a lot of the higher ones that are, maybe not equally as bad, but at least subpar compared to their usual level. Plus the performances from artists who generally don't really sing.

I noticed this too. There were some odd performances that didn't highlight their talent that were chosen in the clips like the Lana Del Ray one lol
right!! as a swiftie i know for a fact taylor isnt the best singer or even in the top 50 maybe 40, but that performance was one of her least good ones, it was good but shes done great before, like in the reputation stadium tour her performance for dont blame me was really really good and ariana and gaga have definitely had way better performances, im extremely confused
Yeah… like some singers who are pretty high have performances that are just as terrible as the ones in the top. Like Demi and Justin have performances where they sound really off, if you put those videos then they would for sure be lower

It's a shame they don't add in non mainstream music ever. So many metal bands have absolutely amazing vocalist and would definitely be at the top.
Louis Armstrong should’ve been on the list. His voice was so different than everyone else’s.

Yeah I think lists like this are tough because with so many different genres of music and people's variety of tastes, a lot of great singers get missed and this list turns into more of an iconic/popularity contest more than anything else. Amazing singers from rock bands are missing and there is almost no one from opera and the more classically trained singers.
I'd love to add Michael Kiske from Helloween and Floor Jansen from Nightwish. Both are incredible singers and not limited to one genre, even if both are doing MEtal.

In my opinion, Freddie Mercury was one of the best frontmen in the history of music. He had a vocal range of 4 octaves. And his voice simply phenomenal. Our opinions can differ, but what won't change is his music and his legacy. I'd love to hear who your favourite singer is so I can listen to them more and appreciate them. Peace!

Exceptionnal, as most singer even good, don't have it, but not rare...look at Micheal Bolton, Steve Perry, to name only those two. they made it sound so easy, that we are fooled by it. I'm not arguing here that Freddy wasn't an exceptionnal singer and performer. But just tired of that "repetition" when it comes to the "greatest". Aretha Included. Like I don't think that Lana del Rey should be included as a great voice, not even particular, Ann Wilson is. Just a list, and not a good one. My heart leapt when I saw Yebba up there with the greats! Yesss!. She is an EXTRAORDINARY singer with an INCREDIBLE voice! Not many singers can sing with the clarity and range that she can, and she writes her own songs too which is brilliant too. I have to agree that after Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin deserved to be number 1. Of all the female singers of all genres, Aretha reigns supreme. And Freddie Mercury is at the top of my personal list of male singers. When Freddie sang 'I Will Always Love You,' I got goosebumps! I get goosebumps when I listen to Yebba sing 'My Mind.' Both hauntingly beautiful songs. Both incredible voices. Thank you Isaac from Joel's team for putting together this list. God bless you all. Merry Christmas guys!
James Hetfield has the one of the best singing voices ever. It’s so uncommon in the he sense that for a metal singer he doesn’t just scream. He can scream, sing, and more and knows when to in Metallica’s many great songs.
His voice is just so recognizable that it makes it better automatically. One word, and you know it's him. Same for his guitar playing. You just know right away when Papa Het is around

I didn't expect to see him on the list since he's criminally underrated, but Muse's Matt Bellamy is definitely up there. He has a crazy range and control, definitely one of the best vocalists of this time.

i found that a lot of the higher up songs were older songs/artists and I am assumig that that is because a lot of them didnt use auto tune back in the day so they just naturally sounded good where as the songs you hear on the radio nowadays are heavily tuned and post processed that when they go to sing live it never sounds as good.

Yes exactly, like Adele (level 75) said that Bruno hade a higher range than her. And I don’t say that he he’s the best vocalist but he is at the top, and with his lyrics and songs I can’t find anyone better than him
