The problem with the talented/ untalented Is that the difference is often the level of Training. There are a lot of singer's who get labeled talented who actually just went through years of voice training and singers who get called untalented are often people who started singing later in their life. Id argue if we're talking natural talent it's either being able to do exceptional range, or having a distinctive voice that allows you to defy some of the conventional rules on how songs are supposed to be sung
yep
also, they're comparing people in their prime (like Mariah and Lady Gaga) to the worst moments of some singers (Carly and Lana). That does not sound fair to me either
Why is that a “problem”. Talent can be an outcome of someone’s experiences. I don’t think that’s a secret.
People seem to use the word talent in place of skill a lot. We don’t know how naturally talented any of these people are, what we’re seeing is their level of skill.
So I tend to just ignore the word talent with things like this and only consider it as skill level.
Lmao bruh WHAT? 🤡
I feel like they should do 2 clips for everyone, talented or untalented. One clip from a preformance that is generally thought of as amazing, and one from a bad one. That way they can decide if they really are untalented or if it was a one off.
Talented singers have horrible preformances, so it'd be more interesting to see Roomie and co determine if the singers sound good even in the bad preformances and vice versa. Some of the untalented choices really surprised me.
Yea, We've sen Mariah Carey at her best and her worst... (though it does seem she's recently been improving her voice again)
Yes good comment and analogy too...
That's what I don't like about these comparisons as well. I mean come on, putting Bono as untalented and choose the absolute worst possible clips? Really?
While I agree, I don't think I could bear to watch a bad take of Freddie Mercury, knowing that someone had deliberately put it into the video. I'm just weird like that - very protective of certain singers like him & The Whitney Houston
Yeah like how they only chose one clip of lana and it was her first televised performance ever. Did her dirty
Roomie and his team are incredible with making ads into enjoyable segments in a video, that was awesome
roomie during it 💀
Yeah! I never knew that Chance could sing!
It was smooth how he did that lmao really had me going in the first half
@Don't read profile photo let me guess… scammer..?
hozier is so iconic!! his song-writing, production and voice is unmatched in his particular genres
Man that sponsorship presentation deserve a Grammy 😂 man ! So epic
Unfortunately Grammy's scammy
Agreed.
That had me laugh so much 😂
I Love the Song
He’s Also Cute
What’s his IG 😂
My singing skill level is somewhere between Kanye singing Bohemian Rhapsody and Lana's SNL performance, but I still sing (mainly to myself) because it's fun anyways 😅
@DONT READ MY PROFILE PICTURE don't tell us not to do that; it just gives us an incentive to do it.
Unless that's your intention? Reverse psychology?
@Don't read profile photo don't tell us not to do that; it just gives us an incentive to do it.
Unless that's your intention? Reverse psychology?
@@DavidRay39 Obviously that's their intention
@@DavidRay39 it's reverse psychology... even my 11 year old cousin knows that.
Honestly, same.
to say kate bush's talent isn't about her voice is borderline absurd. she's got literally one of the most distinct vocal styles of all time and it's pretty much the number one notable thing about all her songs.
THIS. Wuthering Heights IS NUTS.
If it wasn’t for stranger things you would have no clue who she is
@@Adamkiyoo not like she had hundreds of thousands of record sales before that... you're just mad because you wanted to feel special you knew her before but guess what, no one cares when you discovered an artist; let people enjoy them or pipe down.
Don’t take anything they say seriously, they’re entertaining but incredibly wrong most of the time
@@Adamkiyoo i actually learned about her from The Voice (UK and AU) ten years ago. How i heard about her isnt relevant when discussing how talented she is.
The problem I always have with these is that for the talented singers their best clips are used and for the untalented singers their worst clips are used, so that obviously pushes anyone to think that way, even they these 'talented' singers also have those bad clips somewhere on the internet. It would be more fair to take a very good clip from both artists and then discuss who the less talented one is, cause a lot of those 'untalented' have some good clips out there too.
The clip for Ed was really not even near one of his best ones though
Except for Kate Bush where she sounded perfect and the person who said she was untalented was straight up wrong lol
@@Wynneception I was shocked to see her name in red and I was like, did she botch a performance or something?
The woman sang Wuthering Heights, doing the god damn entire dance live, sounding perfect the entire time.
How could you ever say she is untalented lmao
Yes! And I felt like they way they presented Lizzo and Pitbull was similar, but they said Lizzo is untalented and Pitbull is talented. I'm not saying Lizzo is the number one best vocalist at all, but Pitbull is not a super-talented singer, lol. They both are about the performance and their energy, and I don't feel like they were judged equally here. Even if Lizzo isn't a great singer, she's a damn good performer. Same as Pit.
yeah I mean Kate is just absolute 🔥
Roomie looks like a proud dad reacting to every piece of music ever made.
Brawl stars sucks
who said he isnt?
@@rajput36000 completely unrelated to this comment but ok
Congratulations
It would have been interesting to see the best and the worst clips of all the singers.
@DONT READ MY PROFILE PICTURE ok
As a Lana fan I'm always sad to see people using the SNL performance as an example for her being a bad live singer, she's had some amazing live vocals throughout her career, it's not so hard to find them.
i agree with you, i know that lana is so bad in snl, but when i saw her singing without you in amoeba, she's really good, and the time distance is not too far
@@nadirahasnaimararidamarga4714 this channel is inherently biased. They will conveniently forget Celine Dion while mentioning other two of the vocal trinity. they use wrost video of WH and MC. They do this consciousnessly
As a singer...I think Lana is good...not great. But as an artist
.. she's one of the most talented NOW and THEN.
Ik like everyone has more than one bad performance
facts
To call Kate Bush untalented is actually a joke. She is an artist by every definition of the word. An extremely talented individual not just singer. An artistic genius. 🤦♀️
She created so much. She's a pioneer goddamn
She is literally the Queen of British pop and the most influential woman in music if we're being honest. I'd say she is just as influential as The Beatles if we're being real.
I know on FIRST THOUGHT you're like " That's a bold statement " , but look at the Indie genre and Indie-pop spectrum.
Who else was putting spoken word, operatic flourishes, using literary references and using headvoice and falsetto how she was before her IN THE MAINSTREAM?
She influenced a lot of people even people who don't know they were influenced by her . . I don't think the current standing META for singers like Billie, Lorde, Marina , Kimbra, the modern legend that is Florence, Aurora all the way back to Tori Amos , Annie Lennox and Bjork etc. Would EXIST with intricate songs if it WEREN'T for Kate Bush. (I'd say even Lana's early work with caricature vocals in her falsetto use. )
She set a trend in music and was one of the first to be really innovative and forward with technology in music.
A literal classic
@@iTeacupPanda to be fair, Annie Lennox & Kate Bush had their careers develop and mature in the same time period and have very distinct voices. I love Annie & Kate both
@@riinak7212 Oh for sure but Annie has even acknowledged that songs in her solo career would likely not have happened if not for Kate. Annie never used her falsetto/head voice at all really til her solo career which by then Kate already had taken the UK by storm.
The part with Lana was painful, but
to her credit it is hard to do a lot of things live for the first time definitely singing.
No that's her job.
@@malihakarim1696 it wasn’t tho , on contrary if you were made to perform in a stage full of people , you should be performing your best as in future it might be your job
In Lana's defense she said she was really nervous doing SNL and it was her first BIG performance, she has gotten so much better and she has better live performances...
she's a much better singer now and she's one of the best lyricists of our generation
I mean it wasn't her first time singing. You can find performances of her doing say . . . " Without You " before this time and she is vocally 10 x better. It was all nerves.
SNL is a MASSIVE televised performance opportunity. She was just launching into stardom and success. It was just hitting her after she'd been snubbed several times. It was finally her time and she was scared of fucking it up and she kind of did but it ended up not mattering.
lana is actually quite talented if u listen to her songs, she was always extremely shy on stage to the point where in one performance she had to turn from the audience to look at her band during the whole performance
I think she has had a huge influence on modern singers with her singing style, you can see it in artists like Billie Eilish
I’ve seen Brendon in concert twice and he sounds super good live. With his theatrical style singing it’s crazy he stays consistent throughout the concert
His old concerts were great but I feel like he kinda ruined his voice tho cause lately his songs and live performances kinda suck.
@@jshdunisperfect1944 I went in 2019 and just recently on October 8th and he sounded great both times in my opinion. But singing the way he does probably puts a lot of strain on his voice I’d assume so maybe that’s why some performances struggle 🤷🏻♂️ he hit high notes and didn’t sound more pitchy than is normal for live performances in my opinion tho
Kate Bush is a great musician AND performer honestly
Agree, but Stranger Things and TikTok ruined this song for me
Being talented doesn’t always mean being successful imho
Underrated comment. Love this
I love how Ed is on miniature as "Talented" when there is popular video of him saying that noone's talented it's just a lot of hard work and then he plays a clip of him sounding terrible 🤣💚
Lady Gaga is an amazing Jazz singer!!! I have seen her do so many jazz songs and she's just absolutely mind blowing. I used to work at wicn in Worcester Mass and I wish I would have known that she did jazz because I would have been playing her on the radio as much as possible!
For another edition or just a basic reaction I would recommend Aurora, she's an amazing live singer and just always sounds good
Everyone talks about a singer being talented or not but unfortunately not everyone actually pays attention how much a person is dedicated to the stuff they’re doing, or how hardworking, or even lucky they are 🤔
Well.... Obviously a singer is suppose to sing.... Just like a dancer is suppose to be dance and actors are suppose to act. These people get paid enough to be the best at it but still slack off.
Well no shit. I’m not going to listen to a singer that sounds like trash just because they are dedicated 😂
LIZZO IS SUCH A GOOD PERFORMER? she clearly wasn't trying to sing perfectly, but she's still hitting the notes. she's dancing around, commanding the stage, and plays the flute in her performances. so hype
Eh. She’s too intense for me
That's you opinion
I felt so bad that they put Lizzo as not talented and Pitbull as talented 😭😭
Good stage presence and singing aren't the same thing.
…Chance is singing the ad…
Joel: loses his marbles 🤪
Jonas: I guess I MUST react to that somehow 😅
August: I’m not paid that much to watch that 🤣
I was in the stream while they were doing the ad and they did 3 different takes one where they start vibing straight away, another where they had a straight face the entire thing and then at the end went WOW THAT WAS SO GOOD I HAVE TO GET IT KNOW, and the one that was picked here its so cool to see the behind the scenes tbh
This feels a little unfair because often the situation is that artists are choosing to sing live while also moving around and are dealing with technical issues. And there are so few singers doing that these days and our ears are being trained to expect impossible perfection during live performances and I don’t like that. Some of these people are still amazing singers and we should 👏👏 their real performances. (But a few just do suck)
I would love to see you do a talented vs. untalented for non-professional singers , i.e. actors, writers etc.
I always love y'all three together in these videos
Best ad in video and smooth af integrated into the video
Lana Del Rey is really talented
I disagree with her being called untalented because of a single performance
Bro i'd watch a 10 minute ad of Chance singing it, I thoroughly enjoyed that lol
Ldr still gives chills with her passion and yea she does she is unique
Bonk can sing amazingly. Studio and live. He's one of my favorites.
As a Lana del Rey stan I'm obviously biased but that was pretty unfair to her... 🤷🏻♂️
I had nosebleed tickets to Ed Sheeran several years ago and it was genuinely one of the best concerts because he sounds real and raw and the lyrics were felt by everyone. I was so far away from him, but it felt so real. Definitely not perfect, but sounded so good and everyone left sang along and was so happy at the end.
Omg. When I saw Yebba, I was so happy. That song that was played (My Mind), when I first heard it, I actually cried. She's one of my favorite voices ever.
This! Her album and features have been great too.
The editing of these videos, especially the abrupt endings are on point!
Great work editors!
I just burst out laugher when you introduce Wondershare Uniconverter. It was pure magic 🤣 The faces, the audio : incredible acting indeed hahaha. Keep on doing that kind of thing, we're here for it ! 😂😂
Actually Kate Bush is incredibly talented like if you look at her song wuthering heights not many people could sing to it cus it's so hard to do she is very talented
I actually first saw Nicole when she was a part of the reality show Popstars and became one of the girls chosen to form the group Eden's Crush. She was good back then, but wow, she is incredible now.
That ad had me in tears truly moving piece
Lizzo is a good singer, those are just bad clips that were picked for her. If you want to hear her singing in a more traditional way, you can listen to "Cuz I Love You". Her NPR Tiny Desk is also a great display of her vocals in my opinion.
Conversely, just because she has a couple of well-mixed, produced performances doesn’t make her a good live performer. A good performer is good more often than not.
Sorry she not.
Kanye is a better singer
@@thefaceofunemployment1373 littetely listen to her tiny desk it’s fantastic
Well, a number of the “less talented singers” were also dancing in their clips. That takes so much breath control it’s crazy to compare it to someone just standing & singing w/minimal motion. (i.e. Jason Derulo literally was trained classically… in OPERA.)
7:35 I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but Joel's reaction to Chance's add, that whole bit was gold 😆😆
Yeah, he made the other two look like they were sleeping, especially the guy on to. 😅
"you look happy and healthy" made this video for me😂❤️
The ad is the best song I’ve heard all day
The ad for uni converter was the best ad I’ve ever seen and heard!
would love to see a video of "controversial artists." Artist who are very loved and hated and give your takes on which side you land.
Whoever put Avril on less talented is crazy. she is amazing singer. and that clip was from years and years ago when she was still teen. but .. Avril sounds amazing live. her voice is so nice.
Damn, never seen a smoother ad
I love these talented/ untalented videos please do more of them!
Thanks so much to Roomie , August and Jonas!! Awesome performance by Chance!! My weekend is so much better after watching your videos. 💖🎵🔥🔥👏👏👏
That was amazing Chance!
You are wrong Kate Bush is incredibly talented. Go check more of her songs. Her vocal range is nuts!
That paparazzi performance always gives me chills
Honestly probably the only form of a sponsor moment in a video I ACTUALLY enjoyed watching... I typically ignore the sponsorship parts in videos since I get tired of the same thing over and over, but turning it into a song with a funny video editing style (not bad, just likely my weird sense of humor) actually made it entertaining for once
6:14 Florence had a film made about her, played by Meryl Streep
That ad is a gem!
I can’t believe Jonas flashed🤣. But even that can’t beat Chance’s performance)
I think Lana was super nervous in that clip. I felt bad for her.
They should show a more recent clip too...
dude that wasnt an ad, that was a concert and i loved every second of it. i was full blown jamming out dude
Usually I hate sponsors but that was epic!!! I watched it like 5 times 😭
I’m taking a music course just for some credits right now and although my teacher is trained in classical music, she played Basshunter and I just instantly knew he was Swedish from watching you
I was super lucky to be able to see Whitney in Concert (I’m your baby tonight tour). Big arena tour and she sounded pretty damn good.
Roomie can be the judge for every artist.
That sponsorship ad vid is a jamm. Really well done, honestly.
Maybe Chance would consider a singing carrier too. He is a natural.
🙈🙈🙈
I love Joel's "gnome laugh" 😆
That song with chance was a vibeee
Man, i want roomie to do a complilation like this with jesse j. i loooove her voice and i think she's super talented
2:09
Joel: Freddie Cermury
Me: No, it's my favourite singer
Freddie is 10000% talented bruh Hes still number uno for me and my whole familie
They were joking💀
Omg I love the uniconverter song. I’ve been using their apps for 10 plus years!
It’s the first time I like and appreciate the commercial this much!!!
Raise to the sponsor segment editor solely for the background image choices 😂
Joel: if you’re a stripper, good for you.
August: you look happy and healthy.
10:14 GOOODNESSSSS i lOOOVEEE Yebbaaaa im sooo glad they reacted to her LOL
Thank you Jonas for adding her c:
Chance is hysterical!
Nicole S is VERY underrated. She was in Eden’s Crush and the Pussycat Dolls, which started as a burlesque type of show (not strippers), then grew to release music. She’s had some success, but she’s VERY talented
Honestly I don't understand why Kate Bush was considered untalented. Because to me talent isn't just range, it is realizing your range and playing to your strengths and Kate Bush played to her strengths also her music isn't supposed to be filled with vocal runs and typical singing like that, in fact her vocal style is more similar to Progressive Rock in terms of vocals, because when you listen to prog rock in terms of vocals, none of the artists have what you would consider typical singing talent but they can plenty of emotion in their voice and usually Kate Bush is telling a story in her music. It's not "I will love you forever" instead it's an actual narrative in terms of story so vocal runs and all that stuff typically associated with talent would take away from the songs.
Also the style just works really well, I can tell you I personally would rather listen to Kate Bush than an artist like Hozier simply because the music, the vocals and the style all blend together to form a really great sound.
Same with Kanye. Obviously he wasn’t rapping in those clips and was probably drunk singing those lol.
Kate Bush does have an impressive vocal range though. Like Running Up That Hill and Wuthering Heights are not easy to sing
@@Wynneception The thing is most of her songs are not easy to sing because she focuses less on being catchy, none of her songs are really catchy although you are right, she actually does have pretty good vocal range, because her stuff before the Hounds of Love album shows off more of her range
One of the first times I didn't skip the sponsor segmet. Keep that up!
I love what you said about Yebba. I've came across her song few months ago and I thought it was great, but it didn't have many views so I thought that maybe I don't have a good hearing. Now I know that my ears are ok :)
August: "Who says she's not talented?"
Jonas: "Found a person online that said so"
Best answer to any question ever
Nicole Scherzinger is so underrated.
OMD that was the best ad placement I've ever seen.
Best Sponsored Ad placement! Has had me on my toes. Loved your reactions
Chance needs a raise. And a record deal. 👍👍👍
My fav part in this vid is August going "you look happy and healthy" right after Joel's "good 4 you" lmao
Same.
Dope devil stick handling.
I watch the whole promo lmaoo I loved it
I hope Uniconverter pays you big bucks for that ad, you guys really deliver 🤩 Chance was rocking it 😄
The "Wondershare UniConverter" song is The best song ever! SO MICHAEL BETER THEN "SHAPE OF YOU"!!! Do Chanse have some shows here in Stockholm? I'm an huge fan now😜🤯
4:40 That's not the real Bono busking on the street, that's Pavel Sfera who is an impersonator
Finally! Hozier getting recognition! More of his other songs pls!
I feel like the Chance singing ad is very underrated in these comments, that was amazing lol
I feel like Lana really needed a second video. She has a lot of talent, that was notoriously her worst performance. She has gotten so much better in the past 10 years. Watercolor Eyes showcases her range and pitch really well, or even NFR. This clip DID NOT do her justice.
I'm not going to lie, y'all make the best ads
that ad was something else though 😂
Fr
For Pink you guys could've watched her performance live at Rock in Rio 2019. It was NUTS
1:05 she was just nervous, she had stage fright. I saw lana live and she sounded better than on her records (edit-spelling)
For Ed Sheeran, I feel like one more thing needs to be added: his tours are basically just him, a guitar (probably several) and a loop station. His songs are written so that he doesn’t need more. Having been to his = tour last summer it was amazing.
Someone give him a raise, that ad was a bop
Bruh the first Lady Gaga clip is like from 2009 or 2010. Clearly she improved over time, she has plenty of great performances lol
