►WE USE THIS SOUND RECORDER (AMAZON) - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
Stuff we use:
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/425k5rG
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/3WEuz0k
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv

Are you still writing the same kinds of stories you were 10 years ago?
I haven't written 😕 anything yet 😕 but I'm going to try 😅
I've been writing for 3 years and some change, and I write different types of stories, but so far they're sci-fi, horror, and paranormal. What I've found is a pattern of themes, and I don't think the outer trappings matter much. So if by "same kinds of stories" you mean themewise, I believe that's how we essentially grow up, whether we tell our stories to anyone else or not.
Wanting to write something, versus writing something that sells,
that is the question
Interesting you mentioned YA. I find that YA is a safe space to go deep with everything. It could be a coming-of-age story, it could not be. However, no matter what genre, the YA protagonist pushes boundaries as they find their own--a cyclical theme of humanity itself.
I appreciate her journey, her acquired experience. I'm not convinced this applies to the question regarding Story is a function of Age. Not every Story is one of Mastery. HER Story. Yes. My Story. No.
I confess, I began this episode expecting insights between Age, Archetype, with Story: with each stage of life, Story changes. The variables change.
For example, as our population ages, how have OA or MA stories come to be ignored? Do such experiences not have value?
what is ya?

Stories, idea's & screenplays are to be refreshed & revitalized every decade. Something you wrote 30 years ago, could now work as a nostalgia piece.
There is no sell-by date on writing because you are the author.
Age is fascinating! Cheers Film Courage!!
❤🎉Age ain't nothing but a number 😮🎉❤
Middle age is famously a time when many people turn back to earlier years and wonder what went wrong. Doesn't sound like this was an experience Ms. King had, having achieved what she set out to do. There are 40-50 year olds who are still trying to figure out their place in the world. Not sure if this is just something unique to Gen X but it feels like it could be.
When I was younger, I wanted to write Sci-Fis and Horror. I wanted to make the big high concept movies. Now that I'm older, I'd rather write more personal dramas and comedies that I could relate to. Hopefully, I'm able to do both.
Fascinating concept, and one which we probably don't realize we do.
Writing is always(?) about what has happened, rather than what's about to happen, so it makes sense it's age related. Maybe it's a challenge to not do that.
Cada año es un peldaño (hacia arriba)
*I've been Infatuated with Gangster stories since the 90's and that hasn't changed much these days. I'd say Sci-Fi is my new obsession but if I were to write something today, it would be a mix of Gangster and Sci-Fi 😂 you just add on to what you originally loved as you age....rarely ever does it change Completely IMO.*
