Thanks again guys for hooking me up 🔌
Awesome video! Smashing it bro!
Appreciate it!
Looks mega! I have to agree with the roll issue. The rear seems to struggle to keep up with the quick front end. You can feel the flex and tilt across the rear axle.
Again, the car looks awesome. Excited to follow the project.
Totally agree, see you on the next one 🫡
nice
Looks amazing. Same exact spec as my car, minus CCBs and Full leather, carbon exterior. Drop is looow. I have the MP HAS, only 20/20. Can’t wait to see the rest of it. Just also got my Frozen Bronze 1000s. This looks mega! 🎉🎉🎉
How would you rate the 20mm drop with stick wheels? Is there still a big gap or is the fitment just right. I'm torn between the eibach 20mm drop.and the h&r 30mm for my g82.
@@user-fb6lj1hq6s I have a huge 30+ page thread, over on Bimmerpost, titled, “FIRST LOOK: OEM G8X M Performance HAS kit.” Search that exact quote on Bimmerpost. There are plenty of pics of the cars with the springs installed. I just posted the most recent post of my car, taken yesterday of the stance. Reply to me there, if you’d like. Or repost here, if you’re not a Bimmerpost member.
@@g.dubyou6263 thanks, I'll check it out 👊🏽
@@user-fb6lj1hq6s no problem. Probably easier to copy the title into Google. It’ll be the first post. 👍
I always think the rear needs to be lowered more. I like the rocker panels to be level with the ground. Nose diving is no good especially on beemers
In the end, the ride height as they have it now is front and rear the same, it’s just that the front allows for a bit more lowering because the coupe is light on the rear compared to for example the coupe or convertible
@@carismaticvisuals3993 I agree with what the one guy at end of video said about making the rear lower….on beemers especially. For track use maybe not…..but for street the rear a bit lower than the front runs better. That way when under braking on the streets the car will shift more weight forward and sit at level…..then when you accelerate it drops back down.
My previous M3 you could not get a finger between the tire and wheel well in rear and on the front it was about a finger or finger and a half.
It almost looked OEM cuz the front isn’t slammed which is the first thing you notice on a lowered car.
@@djstonewood8653 Correct, however, what Carismatic Visuals meant (one of our colleagues at Cobra) is that the rear of the coupe is much lighter and doesn't allow a lot of lowering with the spring we supply with a properly sprung spring rate. We kept the same spring for the M3 G80 and M4 G82 to give them both a good rear end stiffness. However, the M3 goes about 20mm lower than the M4 Coupe on the same springs. On the M3, it easily lowers beyond the 45mm on the front. The maximum lowering on the M3 is about 305-310mm center of wheel to wheel arch, compared to about 325mm max at the front. On the M4, that is about 325mm front and about 335mm in the rear due to a lower rear weight. Our advice is to keep the ride height at around 340-345mm maximum all round however, this gives the car the best balance between comfort and sportiness, while lowering more than a standard lowering kit. The HAS kit is optimised for about that 340-345mm value, so it means you can always make it level out on all chassis types or give it a more negative rake as you like. Making a lower spring is possible for the rear if demand is there :)!
@@CobraSuspension thank you for the detailed response….and yes I completely agree. Companies are making parts to fit all the cars and to make one part specific for just one particular model could be tough without demand for the specific part.
I’m looking at all options there are kits that use OEM dampeners and just provide adjustable springs…..so like a coil over kit but reusing the OEM shocks so all the digitally adjustable dampening rates still work with the OEM software.
@@CobraSuspensionI see cobra also has a HAS kit for the G42. Wondering if that one shares the same spring and would have similar ride quality. Or is there other engineering differences to that. Thanks!
Hight adjustable?
Why am I watching this video i am never going to buy a G80
Appreciate the watch though dude
Why not?
I’m hoping to put these wheels on my m240i without requiring spacers to get flush. I wonder what the offset is on the M3/M4 20’s ??
Everything G80/82/93 is +20 stock wheels.
@@g.dubyou6263 yeah I found that out after posting the comment thank you.
I found out the previous F models had bigger offsets 29 in front and 40 in the rear which is very flush. The only issue is the F chassis are 5x120 and the newer G chassis are 5x112.
They are fucking with us by changing these specs to get us to spend more money. Nothing is interchangeable anymore.
10years ago you would just put 5 series wheels on a 3 series and be flush. I had 8 series wheels on a M3 it looked sweet and a very stock look cuz the rims were still from BMW and recognizable for the brand.
