    We have shutters on our family cabin to keep the weight of the snow off the glass. It also helps to keep the yeti from breaking in. Don't laugh, it works; we haven't had a yeti in the cabin for 100 years.

I couldn't even imagine how much snow that is. Seeing this video& how buried your cabin was definitely helps showcase the amount that came down, it amazes me!!

    Hi there - I rarely comment, but wanted to touch base and thank you for the content. Your channel is in my top 10 and I watch a fair bit of CZcams. I'm disabled from a spine/cord injury, so spend a lot of time by myself (with my dog). CZcams has become a bit of a game-changer in that I can seek out content that I like and follow along at my own pace as time (and health issues) allow.
    I completely agree with you about the food you give your dog. My daughter is in the 'dog business' as a trainer and working at a boarding facility as the supervisor of animal husbandry/welfare, training, grooming, etc. We're both huge animal lovers. We feed our dogs a raw food that is mostly meat protein with some fruit and veg (blueberry, kale, carrot, spinach, apple). It has made such a huge difference in our dog's health but his coat too.
    He is a mix breed dog (83 lb) - a shepherd/malamute cross we're told. He has always had the WORST shedding issue of ANY dog I've ever known. You literally cannot get dressed in dark clothing before you are ready to go out the door for fear of him brushing up against you. We have lint rollers in both vehicles and pretty much in every room in the house, haha. This change in his food has been a night and day difference. So, the food you feed your dog... the real ingredients responsibly sourced, raised and processed, is so important. I'll keep Sunday's in mind if we ever decide to switch him up, or for any trips we may take where toting around raw food may not work. I just have to pull up their website and check to see if it's available to your Canadian dog friends! Thanks for the tip!
    Heather🇨🇦

    • @heatherd.9390
      @heatherd.9390 Před rokem +1

      Just learned it's not available in Canada, but I will attest to how great this type of food is for your dogs inside and out. I'd highly recommend it. Oh, and I should mention that our Max is a pretty picky eater and he loves his raw, so I'm sure he'd scarf this down too.

    • @JamesDean-yo8wm
      @JamesDean-yo8wm Před rokem +18

      i was thinking that too. especially with all the buckling going on i can pretty much guess that cabin is a few inches shorter than its supposed to be at this point and that paneling pretty much proves it. so one could guess there's gonna be a whole lot of new ways for water to get in and seep through places that it couldn't before. crazy honestly. that snow has to weigh tons...

    • @marka4837
      @marka4837 Před rokem +22

      Also the record flooding that is going to occur is going to destroy a lot of real estate there. The amount of water will simply have no place to go at the rate that it will be melting.
      I wish the best of luck to everyone there but I also hope they are preparing for the worst possible scenario.

I pray everyone continues to be safe and that the cabin isn't damaged too much. I am looking forward to more of this "cabin rescue." Blessings to all from Proctor Minnesota!

    @HeavyDSparks if the snowfall has taught us anything might be time to invest in a heated roof panel system. You could possibly use a good solar generator to power it too for when or if the snowfall is ever this high again.

    Absolutely incredible! You guys don’t usually get that much moisture.I have only ever gone through something like that once. It was about 12ft over 3 days in southern bc Canada. In that much fresh when you slow down on your sled you almost have to do a big controlled wheelie to get back up on plane. It’s almost got the same characteristics as water. We had 12ft of powder on the cabin roof as it couldn’t slide off because it was that deep all around the cabin too.the worst part was it warmed up and rained and the snow acted like a sponge and all that weight on the roof started to crack and break all or the beams and trusses. I had to get up on the roof and dig off as much as I could to relieve the weight. We lost half of the ski lodge as the roof wasn’t as steep.
