    ive found that screens that sit fully inside a bucket work better than those ones. however, the stacking classifiers are Awesome when separating out your cons by size when they are completely dry. that helps out in the searching phase ones you have washed and concentrated the material.. i am looking for a way to get made a 20 mesh screen that is 15 inches diameter or so, and 5-6 inches in depth, so that i could do a primary bulk classification to remove the silts but have a large bulk of material to work with sooner. using the Saruca for 8 hours straight is hard enough on the back haha. so, i want to make an automatic jig machine that i can hand crank (since i would be using it in the crater/mine) that could jump up and down vertically, and then rock the sides to make the centers, but be far more energy efficient and less work on the back. with my dad and i working together we can get through 40 buckets in a day or so. but i really want to make a jig to help out the longevity of avoiding being so sore afterwards. haha. basically, such a machine would have two sort of frameworks, one to allow a jumping motion to get material to sink down in the screen, and a second means of motion to rock to make the centers for extreme bulk processing by hand.

      The side to side would be tough. What about a concave screen?

    • @EddieSchirmer
      @EddieSchirmer Před 3 lety +1

      @@TheArkansasDiamondMiner a concave screen would be awesome if it would work with rotation motions. then if you had a way to in one step separate the 1/4 and 1/8 mesh classifications in more bulk that would increase your potential volume a lot. a concave 20 mech screen to help make centers via rotation or up and down motions would be ideal as a Pre-Saruca step

    I've used these screens for awhile and I like them also. However folks should know they aren't flat on the bottom with a slightly higher center. You can't do a clean flip with them like you can with a saruca.

    • @TheArkansasDiamondMiner
      @TheArkansasDiamondMiner  Před 3 lety

      Some people cut out the supports and flatten the bottom. I would rather not take the chance of an imperfect center and use a saruca with a proper screen.

      I use these screens and also have removed the bottom bracing from my 1/8 and 20 mesh. Although smaller in diameter than the more expensive sarucas, the green set allows me to triple stack at the wash station (20-1/8th-1/4) while also classifying and centering the bottom two screens. It saves a lot of time and 20 buckets can be easily processed in one day. My centers turn out great since the bottom center of the screens sag just the right amount. Just my opinion, if you want volume these are the way to go.

      Where is the best place to get a Saruca. Can you suggest a local vendor. I've been wanting to get out there and do this. My wife has passed away this week after a long fight against cancer. I've watched your videos and others. I'm ordering the screens and thinking the next weekend I am going there.

    Curious, are you still using these? Just a week before I discovered your channel I had gotten a set of 9 from a different brand I think but when I tried just one of them I was disappointed. The mesh is cupped upwards making it hard to center material and stones get stuck in between mesh and edge of frame.

    • @TheArkansasDiamondMiner
      @TheArkansasDiamondMiner  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I do not. I was able to classify with them, but they didnt work to center very well due to the cupped screen. After all the effort to get there, find and work all that material, I decided to quit using them. Now I have Muddy Miner Sarucas in 1/4, 1/8, and usually a 16 mesh. I found a beautiful 4 point yellow my last trip, last flip of the day with my 16 mesh.
