  • See the diamond finds that have been registered recently at Southwest Arkansas' Famous Crater of Diamonds State Park. Find out how much each one weighs and what color they were. 60% are white (clear), 21% are brown, and 17% are registered as yellow. Only 1 out of every 34 diamond finds registered weigh one carat or more. Yesterday, David Anderson from Grand Rapids, Michigan, registered his SEVENTEENTH, carat-plus diamond at this unique, state park. Only TWO people have ever found 17, carat-plus diamonds at the Crater in their 52-year history as an Arkansas state park. Those legendary diamond finders are James Archer and Diamond David Anderson. On March 5, 2024, David Anderson registered a GORGEOUS, 1.52-carat, gem diamond at Arkansas' Crater.
Since the state park started keeping records in 1972 through the end of 2023, 35,250 diamond finds have been registered at The Crater. Only 1,046 weighed one carat or more. That is an average of one diamond in every 33.67 weigh one carat or more.
There have been 5,902 yellow diamonds registered at the state park in the past 52 years. We do not know exactly how many of them were carat-plus yellows. But if you take 5,902 and divide by the average of 33.67, there have only been 175, carat-plus Crater yellows registered at the state park over the past 51 years. That makes this big, yellow diamond pretty special.

Yes, Southwest Arkansas' Crater of Diamonds State Park is open to the public 362 days each year for diamond searching from 8AM to 4PM. Adults are just $15 for all day. Everyone is welcome, and you get to keep all of the diamonds you find. It is located near the City of Murfreesboro, AR, which is located half-way between Hot Springs and Texarkana.
