  • Volume is One of the Four fundamentals for finding diamonds at The Crater of Diamonds State Park. The volume of material that you can wash can easily increase your chances of finding a diamond. If you have less concentrated material gathered to sift, running more in a day could make the difference in going home empty handed or with a shiny keepsake!

    You dove deep in the tips with this one! The specific gravity or the water and its dissolved minerals! Well done. Mind Blown. Makes sense to me.

    We are coming this summer the weekend before the 4th of July. I've been wanting to come for YEARS!! Thank you for your information. I'm absorbing as much as possible. Not sure the kids are as excited as I am, but it's going to be so much fun!! I love all kinds of gems, and this is the first time we've been able to actually go "treasure" hunting!

      Awesome! I am glad the videos help! Be sure to prepare for the heat. The search field is open and the heat/humidity is intense. There are areas with shade, but gathering material will likely be in direct sunlight. Good luck on your treasure hunt!!!

    @4:10 there's nothing discouraging a mother-in-law... just sayin'!! 🤣
    Seriously though, great video Solomon. Thanks for sharing!! I might try to take a day off later this week to head down there since it's supposed to be nice out, and that way I don't have the weekend crowd. I'm gonna see if I can get one of my kiddos to come with me, and let them surface search while I wash.

    This reminds me of my gold panning days. What I realized after going out several times is that the real gold was in selling gold mining equipment!! 😅🤣😂😛

      😂 For me, its a number game. When I visit regularly, I know that one in 70 buckets should have a diamond. Sometimes its a small one, sometimes a large one. Eventually, it will be a really big one. Thanks for watching!!

    Can you tell me what size screen the bottom one is suposed to be? Im getting different answers on google. And does crater of diamonds sell sarucas and box sets or do they just rent them out? Hopefully we will be down that way next week sometime. ✌ 🐺 💎 thanks.

    • @TheArkansasDiamondMiner
      @TheArkansasDiamondMiner  Před 2 lety +1

      The bottom screen is typically 16 or 20 mesh, 16 being the more efficient for washing gravel. A saruca is also 16 or 20 mesh, used for concentrating the heavies into a center. There are some rental screens at the park but these are heavy and screens are pretty worn out. There are a few shops locally that sell screens and rent equipment, and sell sarucas. You are better off with these local shops because they have to better maintain the rentals to do business, and the saruca is a good tool to purchase to do the concentrating at home with the gravel you collect.

    Hello. Thanks for the tips. I am not finding the 4th tip in the series. Doesn't seem to be attached to the playlist.

      Thanks for watching, I hope these help!! I have attempted twice to get the fourth video of the series produced and have not been able to get it properly added. I do plan to get it onto the platform soon, just need better footage and a good way to put it all together. Diamonds are difficult to get a good picture or video of where a person can truly see what makes them easy to pick out from the other minerals. Once I get the quality footage to reflect those characteristics, I’ll have them uploaded in the final video. Again, thanks for watching!!

    I trying to plan a trip with family to go there to have some fun and work a little as a family to see if we can find a diamond or two to get the funds to get equipment for my part of the family business. Lol. I would like to ask if it's best to go after they plow the area immediately once they do it. And if so when do they do that

    • @TheArkansasDiamondMiner
      @TheArkansasDiamondMiner  Před rokem

      There is no set plowing schedule. It is dependent on weather and a couple other factors. The best time to go is the first very heavy rain after the plowing. You want erosion to help concentrate the heavies for you.

    You mentioned spigots. How many are there and where are they located?

    • @TheArkansasDiamondMiner
      @TheArkansasDiamondMiner  Před 2 lety

      There are two spigots to hook a hose to. There is one along the east boundary, and one on canary hill. There are two hand pumps as well, one located in the pig pen area at the south end of the field, and the other on the north end.
