@@loriwinbigler hi Lori, please send me an email at lifewellcruised@gmail.com. Thereâs reason for you to be charged more than once
& Iâm happy to help
when i travel i do extra duty free shopping in the form destination informations
Iâm a pack-light, travel-solo frequent-traveler senior citizen who is just about to add cruising to the itinerary, and I think my existing travel hacks will be ideal for cruising.
Shoes: 1: white sneakers (leather, easy to clean), wear on the plane. They are very fashionable now and can be worn everywhere. 2: Silver sandals. Can be worn as day wear, or in the evening. 3: Black suede ballet flats. For day wear, or with clip-on diamanté buckles for evening. I have tired, old, buniony feet. All of these shoes are brands made to be flattering but heavy-duty walking shoes for feet needing my kind of pampering.
Pants: Black only - practical, and flattering colour for my body shape. One pair of beautifully cut jersey pants for evening, also fine for daytime smart casual. Two pairs lightweight travel pants from a company specialising in adventure wear (No, they donât look like hiking pants for up the Amazon, they look like ordinary pants, but very hard-wearing and drip dry overnight, no ironing needed.)
Tops: 1:Black blazer. Goes with everything, goes everywhere, elevates any outfit, wear it on the plane to save space. 2:Several good-quality cotton tee shirts - short sleeve, long sleeve, bright colours to liven up the black pants. Quality cotton keeps on looking good after many washings and you can get away without ironing. 3:Sparkly silver top (wrinkle-free knit fabric) to wear with the jersey pants for dressy evenings. 4:Black jersey top same fabric as pants for evenings, or under the blazer for day wear. 5:Sweaters. One hot-pink turtle neck pullover, one black cardigan. Both of these are lightweight cashmere, found at sale prices, so luxe look without the luxe price tag. Both are hand washable if necessary.
Accessories: bright, light-weight cashmere wrap - good for evening wear, scarf for cooler weather, snooze wrap on the plane. Small, square, colourful neck scarves - tie around neck for pulled together look, tie to bag handle for a bit of colour. Some inexpensive costume jewellery bling to liven up evening wear. Tote bag, mid-size, dark beige, goes with everything, holds all I need, doubles as a smart-looking handbag. Sun hat - cream-coloured Panama style, washable and uncrushable for packing.
Add swimsuit, undies, nightie, etc. The entire list here, excluding blazer, sneakers, and whatever else Iâm wearing to travel fits into a carry on bag. Everything unrolls from packing cubes ready to go, no ironing required. Everything can be washed. Add a personal-size bag that slides over carry on bag handle for toiletries, electronics, medications, etc. Everything I need for months, if necessary, can be pushed around an airport with one hand, and easily lifted into overhead bins.
This is a wardrobe that fits my particular style. I like a tailored look, and find black flatters me, as long as I have a touch of colour to brighten the look. I havenât worn high heels for forty years, keep arms and legs covered because of UV sensitivity, and canât remember the last time I wore a dress. But I get compliments when I travel. I while back, instead of my usual solo travel, I was on a group tour where we all saw each other day in, day out for two weeks. People were surprised that I could manage an apparently effortless well-dressed and appropriate outfit for every different activity we did out of these two small bags.
Thanks! Enjoy your travels!
I used to bring too many shoes. On my cruise last month, I only brought a pair of sneakers, a pair of sandals to wear around the ship and even going on tours and a pair of black sling back dressy shoes. Good improvement for me đ
Woohoo! Well done đ
@@LifeWellCruised Thank you, pretty proud of myself.
Good advice
I'm going on my first cruise in a few weeks, and I am really undecided about what shoes to bring. It's forever a debate of fashion over comfort/practicality. Workout shoes or Sperrys for shore excursions (the former are more multi-functional for going to the gym, but the latter are much cuter, and still comfortable? Keen sandals vs flip-flops vs water shoes for beach? And do I really need a nicer/dressier shoe in addition?
@@Zintastikcowbell It all depends on the outfits you bring. If you intend of dressing up for dinners, a more dressy shoe would be nice. They don't have to be high heels, a kitten heel can be just as dressy. Flip flops don't take a lot of space and can be nice for the pool or beach. I would bring only one pair of walking shoes, wether a pair of sneakers or whatever is most comfortable for you to walk, visit, etc.
I used a wardrobe sudoku template I found on Pinterest. Picked 2 neutral colors and 2 complementary colors and had 10 outfits! Super easy, minimized packing and it saved me so much time.
OoohâŠIâm interested in this. Thanks for the tip. Iâll go try and find thatđ
I bring a pair of dress pants, two ties, a belt, a dress shirt and a vest for formal nights. I wear the vest on the second formal night to look a bit different and to cover up food stains from the first formal night.
one thing that helps me with packing for ANY trip is the fact i was homeless for 10 years and had to learn how to carry not only general needs but everything i owned in a large backpack....so i learned quickly how to pack light but efficiantly
Thanks for sharing your experience Tina. I imagine this really gives you a different perspective as well as the skills you mentioned
Packing for my first cruise:
Nice sandals, pair of heels, flip flops, and planning on wearing my tennis shoes on the plane.
You know what I love about your videos.... you talk fast and you get a lot of information out to us. Cant tell you how much this is appreciated. Other video bloggers could take a lesson from you!
Just returned from Alaska on Regent Seven Seas. Packed all our rain gear and layers for cold weather. We had 70 plus degrees, sun and not a drop of rain. Sometimes the best plans donât quite work out LOL.
Lol, Alaska is so unpredictable. Nice to have such great weather though!
We must have been there at the same time. I wish I had packed more shorts. Who knew I would need shorts in Alaska?!?!
Separates and layering are the secret. For one month i take 2-3 bottoms and 6 tops, and a travel outfit. Wear a fresh top for dinner, then that same top the next day. One bottom is exclusively for dinners. I wash tops, lingerie, socks in sink every couple days so they are always clean. Different jewelry, scarves, sparkling toppers change it up every day so i look different in photos! I spend my luggage space and weight on shoes bringing at least 3 pr. That takes up one side of a 22â carryon!
Great capsule wardrobe đ
I like your ideas!! Iâm cruising next month, just a 4 night but will be combining it with a family visit trip. Im worried about having too much with me.
Really good tips Jane !!
This is right on time, as I'm putting outfits together for our cruise next weekend. đđ
My girls love glittery sandals. They wear them during the day and to the main dining room. Looks great with their formal clothes.
Ive been using the cruise planner today to get myself sorted for our upcoming cruise :) love it :) thanks for making it illana :)
Thank you so much yes dhiw us how to organize with packing cubes â€
Love watching your videos lots of tips
Your bonus tip is GENIUS! Why haven't I thought of that before? It makes total sense and you can bet that I'm going to do that when I get home from my next cruise. THANK YOU!
Leaving on my first cruise in a week. I LOVE packing cubes. Lol. The suitcase & carryon is so organized. I have 3 pairs of shoes packed, two dress sandals that go with all my outfits, formal & casual as well as a pair of water shoes and then Iâm wearing my tennis shoes on the flight there to keep that weight out of my bags. I canât imagine needing more shoes then that. The only reason Iâm taking two pairs of dressy sandals is just because in case a strap breaks or something. đđđ
I love all your packing tips. I keep an under the bed plastic sweater container full of all my cruise gear so when it's time I just pull out the bin.
Brilliant!! Love this too
I do also. Cruise gear and accessories ready to pack.
I never refer to the bed without stating that it is plastic first. I think that is an important descriptor so people dont think they are going to be staying at a high class Ramada or Motel 6. Think cheap plastic lawn furniture. That is your bed.
@@Tomallenny I actually have always had a really nice bed on the ships. And I traveled for work and have slept on really bad beds.
Finally you have made a video to minimize! This is the way I have packed for years. Overpacking is a nightmare, itâs one of my 3 top tips to avoid. I can take a carry-on and backpack for a 7 day cruise. Ditch that toiletries bag and use a ziplock .
Thanks for the great tips! I bought a pretty, sheer fancy swim cover up that looks very nice over my LBD. Little fabric refresher spray to make it not smell like the pool and weâre good to go!
An older lady at my church once said she picks 3 colors that go together, then she pulls 3 or 4 bottoms and a few tops in those colors. They all can be worn together so she had several outfits out of a few pieces. Donât think I could do this, but an interesting idea.
Itâs a great idea - like a cruise capsule wardrobe
That's what I plan to do too. My go to colors are black, blue, and orange. :D
That's what I do. Black pants, skirt and shoes and several solid color tops, 1 cardigan, 1 or 2 scarves and you have lots of combinations.
I learned so much from you for my first cruise! The magnet hooks were THE BEST! I wish it would let me attach the photo I took of my room! It looked so organized due to that tip! Thank you so much!
â€thank you for all of your weâll needed advice đ
Hi Ilana!
Great tips for not overpacking đđ»
Thank you!
Thanks for your comments!
Great advise. I've learned how to pack over the years by trial and error. I also send out items to the ships laundry.
Ilana, your Cruise Planner is really outstanding! I used for my last cruise and it was super helpful!
Thanks so much Katie! Iâm so glad it was helpful got you :)
Thank you so much for this video! I was worried that I couldn't bring spray on sunscreen and now I know I can! Also was unaware of the bug issue and eco friendly situation. I will definitely be bringing both of those
When packing, I will pick all navy or all black for all my skirts, pants, shorts, dresses. Then choose tops, accessories and a sweater to go with the navy or black. So easy to mix and match to make different outfits!
In my regular travels as done for years, to include cruises, I normally pack 1 dark hand towel. This is used for drying my face once I've soaped up and washed off makeup, and only if I don't bring makeup remover. I've never liked dirtying up the white towels to capture mascara, blush foundation, eye color and powder. Works pretty well!!
im going on my first cruise next year and i am loving your videos to help me prepare. thank you so much for the videos and help
Iâm so glad the videos are helpful as you plan your first cruise!!
I love the bonus tip. Great idea, just did that on January when I got back. Going on a weekend trip and used the smaller containers for things. Thx
Awesome!! Have a great trip
Thanks for the tips. Enjoy your cruise.đ
Thanks so much!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING đâïžâ€đđ đđ
So on shoes, for me, five pairs is my go-to/gotta-have. Formal shoes, everyday sandals, pool flip-flops, sneakers, and water shoes. I just can't get the list fewer than that. LOL! And next cruise, I am going to try the packing cubes. At first, I didn't see the value. But now, I like the thought of being able to just transfer them from a suitcase to the closet shelf or drawer. And I am definitely not the type who could pack carry-on only! LOL! Kudos to yall who can!
I'm going on a 13 night cruise in January have been watching all your videos and keeping notes i always over pack so I'm hoping to get it right this time will keep watching đ
Hello! Leaving for our cruise in 52 days and have been watching your videos for awhile now. Love all the tips, Ive always been an over packer. When we traveled with kids, I packed everything we might need just so we wouldnt need to buy it at location. Now it's just hubby and I and I want to pack less...but I still have the urge to pack everythingđ Im doing my best though to follow your tips. Thanks for all the help!
Love your videos..been watching for a while now. I'll be 67 and going on my very first cruise in August '22...I'm nervous and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Your advice and suggestions are great. Thank you!
I love that last tip! I'll be doing that on our next cruise.
So glad it was a good one :)
I definitely use your bonus tip. I use a spread sheet with day, port, and planned activities.
Very smart!
Packing cubes were a lifesaver & I will definitely be using them on our next cruise. They also made it harder to overpack, which is what I tend to do lol
I have found that checking off what I took but didn't use/wear very useful.
Always helpful. I find 4 pair shoes works for me (gym shoes for work out, water proof boots for excursions, sandals casual and dress). Alaska in 25 days. Can't wait. Hawaii in January! these tips are so good
Sounds like a great idea to take an inventory of what you used on your vacation.
Iâm going on my first cruise in 5 days! đŠđș Am super excited đ I have found your videos so helpful , thank you đ€and also others leaving their comments đ
I bring a lightweight cardigan to go over a simple dress. That and a different necklace gives me 2 opportunities to wear the dress.
Btw I just love your dresses. Thanks for sharing pictures of them.
I love đ packing cubes đđ
I always have too many things Iâve bought prior to the cruise that I canât make up my mind on which ones to bring. Thanks for sharing more hacks for eliminating some items.
That last tip is exactly what I did when I got home. There was so much we did not use or need. So I am going to scale back in the fall. As always thanks for your advice, love your content. đ
Great to hear! I think that last point also helps us get better with every trip
Hi
Thank you for the videos. I have booked a surprise cruise for my husband. Iâm giving it to him for Christmas. This will be both of our first time cruising. There is a lot to know and you really clarify a lot of things. Thanks again
Your bonus tip is something I started doing two cruises ago! Itâs very helpful to know what worked, what didnât work, and as you said early on in the video, how things can be worn multiple times.
Glad this worked for you. I think itâs worth the extra time
I absolutely agree that you should do an inventory of what you used and what you didnât use that you took with you once you returned from a cruise. I keep that on my phone for any kind of different trips that I take and it really makes packing for the next similar trip easier.
Love your advice!
What cruise are you going on next?
I like the clothing rack idea. I usually make a packing "pile" and that works but tge rack helps you see everything much better!
Mine are folded on the bed but I like the rack idea better.
Haha 3 pairs of shoes tops: sandals for around the ship and for casual evenings, cross trainers for gym that double for walking on tours, and evening. Fantastic tips! I rarely overpack but I think I could do better with what you've suggested. I don't like wearing the same thing from day to evening, however, I can wear a day outfit on a different evening and change up with jewelry and hair style added to your suggestions.
I am actually going on a 13 night cruise. Longest one I have ever been on. I have thought of ways to not overpack, and this video has helped as well. Because it is such a long cruise, I would like to work out on the cruise every day, and I have been struggling how to pack for that. I came up with an idea after researching all kinds of things. I am going to be bringing Only two sports bras, two workout, shorts, and a couple shirts. That is all I will be bringing and I will be hand washing one of the sets so I can wear the other set the next day and vice versa. I thought it was genius. And thank you so much for all of your videos. I shared your channel with my cruise group and they have all loved it.
We're cruising the Mediterranean with Viking...so excited. As far as shoes...dressy sandals, excursion sandals that are comfy to walk in, pool sandals that can get wet, water shoes for a sailing excursion...and then I'll be wearing closed for sketchers toe walking, just in case. Hope you enjoyed your cruise! Thx for this fab channel. :)
My wife loves that on Silversea and Seabourne the all inclusive includes soap and the use of the equipment in the self-serv laundry. Really helps cut down on the amount of cloths that we need to pack.
Lovely! So nice
One hack that I try to use is to take clothes that I can leave behind as "trash" in order to make room for other new things. Also, reversible shorts work well.
On our first cruise, on Royal Caribbean, (which we loved,) I bought a long, leopard print dress. On our third cruse, on Holland America, which we didn't really like, I found a shawl of the same print. I decided to wear the dress and carry the shawl to dinner that night. I was already on the elevator when the door opened for more passengers. One lady took a look at me and would not get onto the elevator. She had just bought the EXACT SAME DRESS that same day! We had our picture taken together, and I still have it. (we looked like Mutt and Jeff - she was tall and I'm short.) On our last cruise, we went over my birthday, and every time my husband saw someone he told them to tell me happy birthday. I think almost everyone on the ship told me. We are going on a cruise on Celebrity the end of October over my husband's birthday, so I'm going to do the same for him!
Weâre going on a 14 day cruise and have decided to treat ourselves and have our laundry done a few times! And Iâve decided to make it a mainly pink clothing cruise for me. I feel so much better about not packing too much now - I hope this works!
I use garden wraps to corral any cords that I am bringing along. They are handy, reusable, adjustable and cheap if you lose them.
I used to pack up to five pairs of shoes. This time I am going very light and planing to buy good quality shoes in Italy and even couple outfits in France.
I do tend to over pack. On our first cruise I brough a backpack full of books. Now I have my tablet. You have some great ideas. Our next cruise is in less than a month.
You really helped me prepare for my trip. I had to unpack my suitcase 3 times, before I thought it was good. I still took too much. Plus, I ended up paying $100 for an overweight bag. NO FUN!! I needed to leave out more space for souvenirs. I had 4 days in Rome after I disembarked my cruise. Shoes was important. I didn't wear three pairs of shoes AND YES, I brought a book I never read! Also, a laptop I thought I would be working, but the internet was awful. I even paid for it too. I will leave that at home next time too. Thank you for all your tips. I can't wait for my next cruise.
Packing cubes work well!
I take pictures of what I am going to pack and find that helpful. I almost always end up leaving a couple outfits behind because I have too much of the same color or the same type.
I like reversible clothing⊠A lot of skirts I have are solid on one side and print on the other. I have a few dresses like that , too. I like tanks and shells that can be worn forward or backwards &/ or reversible .
Really helpful just packing now !!! Three weeks away .
Great tips Ilana! Packing cubes are a great invention. I organize them into socks, underwear, shorts, tshirts and then fun shirts for theme parties, etc. It makes unpacking in your cabin quick and easy, and I work out of the packing cubes during the cruise, so it makes re-packing to go home faster too. Some cruise Lines offer a discount on pressing on embarkation day, so that's the day to send off shirts/ sports jackets for the week. You forget that on sea days, you will be in swim suit and flip flops all day, so I always have an extra pair or two of shorts and socks left over at the end...
Great comments! Oh I would love pressing on embarkation day đ
I bring 2 tops for each pair of pants, shorts, etc. One outfit for Dress up night. It helps to cut down on the suitcase weight!
I love this tips!! Our first ever cruise is 295 days away (seems so long away) but I am already starting to purchase some things now so I am not waiting tell the end!!
I have never used packing cubes before and I bought 2 sets for myself and 2 sets for my husband and we are excited to use them donât think we are going to need all of them but we will have a variety of sizes to choose from!!
I know I can over pack and this is so helpful and I love love the idea of making a list at the end of the cruise to help plan for the next one!! I look forward to seeing everyone else ideas and comments as well!! Thank you
Theyâre great for weekend trips too!
I always pack too many shoes, thanks for the suggestions!
This was mainly about clothes, but my problem is overpacking my tech. This time I set everything up on the dining room table and found out I was packing about 5kg of stuff that I will not use, even allowing for my rule of packing a set of cables in each bag. While I had replaced my adapters with multi-device / universal voltage USB C PD + USB C + USB A chargers, I still had all of the single-device chargers in my bags. Also, one multi-device charger and one set of cables in each bag means if one bag doesn't make it, you just need to charge some devices one at a time.
I'd add, check the weather at the ports you're visiting. Alaska & Northern Europe tend to be rainy. A small umbrella is a must. I went to Antarctica, left the middle Us in December, overnight in Buenos Aires (summer temps there) then to really cooler temps. Layers are your friends. Active shoes for hiking, walking shoes for many tours.
Good idea for the shawl
I have a check list I use for every trip or cruise. I update it right away upon return. I sometimes update it again and then print it out. I used several pages of your Ultimate guide for daily planning too.
So smart!! đ Iâm glad some of the pages from the cruise planner are useful too. Thanks for your purchase & comments :)
The outfit planner page in your Ultimate Cruise Planner was really helpful when deciding what to pack for my last cruise. I used one for myself and one for my son. It helped me focus on what I truly needed to bring
Iâm so glad it helped! I find also it reminds me I donât need 20 outfits đ
Shorts, flip flops and three or four tshirts will be just fine. Dont overthink it. You are on a cruise full of other Walmart shoppers. who you gonna impress?
Your bonus tip is the best one. I have taken a picture of the outfits I pack and put together mix and match options so I know what to bring next time. I will always say for ladies, dresses are such an easy option. One garment to put on, takes up minimal space in the suitcase. A simple tank or Tshirt dress can be dressed up or down for a day in port or dinner in the dining room. Agree with what you said, as you said you are a dress girl too!
A "capsule wardrobe " helps me.
I pick 1 neutral color palette , all solid colors (except dresses if I bring any), combine everything different ways, also easily hand washable fabrics.
Hi Ilana, we just left Charleston SC and are cruising back to new jersey. The fun had to end sometime. Lobster tonight. This surely is Life Well Cruised. Hi from Bob and Jill on the Celebrity Summit heading homeward.
We go on our first cruise in October. So excited. I live in Georgia. We are leaving from Orlando. We will be driving up day before. I havenât started packing yet but I do have lists for everything. Iâve watched all your videos. Great suggestions. I have the night at the hotel list also. I have included my things for the port. I have a carry on bag list ready. Iâm working on the packing part. I am disabled. I can walk with walker but in wheelchair. I wear dresses mostly. I have the one you had on in my Amazon cart. We are going to coco cay for one of our stops. I have your list for that also.
Have a wonderful cruise!! You sound well prepared
I'm packing now for a cruise this weekend. After I watched this video I got rid of 50 of my clothes/shoes! And all my dresses are the same color family (green/white/blue). Thanks for the tips!
I wear keens or tennis shoes and use those for walking, 1 dress sandal pack only. Flip flops not safe especially on stairs so I use keens or tennis shoes to go the upper decks.
Discovered that swimsuit cover ups can double as dinner wear! They are light weight and very pretty. Kimonos are my favorite.
Smart idea! Those kimono styles are gorgeous
The other advantage of packing light is that it is easier to keep the cruise cabin tidier! For shoes, I take Lindsay Phillips switch flops, one pair of shoes with different decorations to snazz them up!
Very true!! Thanks for sharing
Just remember a closed toe shoe if you plan an excursionâŠthey are often required!
I found a great book on kindle( free read) and learned all about creating wardrobe capsules. I am going to apply it to this cruise I and my daughter are taking. Plus we will be able to do laundry and I have premeasured and packed my laundry washing soda and tide pods, along with dryer sheets. all fit into small pouch. I will be packing the collapsing laundry hamper you recommended as well. as febreeze to freshen clothing not dirty but just needing a pick me up. I'm taking a second hamper for refresh load to make life easier. Hint take fabric softener sheets and a spray bottle to keep just water in and just refresh any clothes that do not need washing a time or remove wrinkles for a load at a time. $3.50 per load beats second bag/over weight bag I'm taking a 10 day Alaska cruise but want to pack as light as I can. Just to be safe, I checked the location on my Carnival Miracle laundry room. Score! probably less than 10 steps, and just around the corner.
I just came back from a Bermuda cruise, not my first. Thanks to your videos, I tried using packing cubes. I was amazed! They each fit so much and fit in my suitcase so well. I used them as storage in the cabin cubicles and they really saved space. Thanks for the tips, thanks for you videos. We were completely prepared and had a great time.
How was it? Iâm going to Bermuda soon! Very excited. What did you need covid wise to get in?
I bring my compression packing cubes empty and use when getting off the cruise, they make more room in suitcase for souvenirs.
I cruise with NCL because of no formal nights which equals less dressy clothes and shoes! Love all of your tips, thank you!
We love NCL because of this and dine whenever you want. Wish they added free bottled water to all there drinks packages though
â@philipmclaughlin9636 is there plenty of spots to fill your own water bottles. Going on Norweigan in a few weeks
Hi, Ilana! Very good tips! I can tell you that I use many of those, for example planning the outfits that I will wear every day for excursions or on the ship in the evenings. That helps me a lot even if I decide to change the outfit one day. Another thing that I pay attention to is the colors that I am bringing with me not to end up with only one color for the entire cruise (good that I have realized before traveling) it is not that important, as you said, nobody cares, but then you take your pictures and you see that everything you brought was in the same color. I bring things that mix and match and, for the shoes, I try to bring my most comfortable ones and, if I have new ones, I try by all means to break them into before I wear them during my trip. I am packing this week for my next cruise and I believe that I am taking 2 flat sandals, one black and one white, and a pair of wedges in white, of course my tennis shoes and a pair of walking sandals. I will do my best not to over pack. Wish me luck!!
Great comments!! Good luck with your packing and have a great cruise đ
Girl I needed this!! I always overpack everything.. my last cruise stupid me had 6 pairs of shoes so you can just imagine how many clothes I had⊠I didnât even wear even half of this⊠and this wasnât my first cruise,, I knew better⊠đ€Ł
We have free laundry on HAL. Put out the laundry bag in the morning and get clean clothes back that evening or the next day at the latest. That helps a lot. Shoes are a packing problem though.
This is just perfect. Laundry is the best perk đ
Hi Illana, so real, overpacking, I am a little better. But if I am on a 10 day cruise, i do have an outfit for the morning and the evening for 5 days. Now with that said i travel Princess, so at the half way point i wash my clothes
Bravo Illana i do pack according to my port days and sea days. That has been very helpful for me. Long before i purchased your planner i planned but your Planner has made it more organized for me, TY. My issue is toiletriesâŠpacking cubes have been a-godsend for that purpose. What i do is transfer my products into smaller brown plastic bottles from Amazon and put them in the packing cubes . Everything i bring now i wearđđą
First cruise in August. But Iâm a serial under packer so it will be interesting to see how I go when I canât just buy what I need.
Thank you đ
Great Video. As a man, formal nights were difficult when I started cruising with 2 suits multiple shirts and shoes; it was crazy and I thought there's got to be a better way! I got wise. I bought a medium colored blue blazer, two pants beige and black, 2 different colored shoes brown and black, 2 shirts white and blue, and 3 ties, go crazy with ties. With this combination, the change up is endless (sort of an exaggeration.) This was for a 14 day cruise with 4 formal nights and it worked perfectly. If you want to go super formal rent one tux and call it a day. I personally found that too stuffy for a cruise but some people love it. Also on casual night dining, polo shirts are the way to go; easy to pack and light weight for those warm days. I bring 2 no crease slacks for casual nights. Have fun.
This is perfect!!! Thanks for sharing
I bring 4 plus water shoes, pair of sandals, pair sneakers, pair normal flip flops and a fancy pair as well.
Great video! I always pick a "theme color", usually navy blue, and build mix & match outfits using a minimum numbers of pieces. I also like to bring 2 or 3 large silk scarves - they take almost no space and can be used to accessorize any solid top or dress for a different look. Good, sparkly costume jewelry can also elevate a look for evening.
Shoes are the hardest! If we are doing a cold weather cruise with hiking, we bring hiking shoes, tennis shoes, pool shoes and nice shoes for night. For warm weather cruises we eliminate the hiking shoes. So 3-4 which is hard to do. As for the 3-4 tops for each pair of shorts or pants, that is the đ key to not overpacking. We always bring our own snorkel gear and re-usable water bottles. They can be refilled in any restaurants or buffet. We do need actual paperback books. At least 1-2
I know that everybody says to bring towel clips but I donât. I bring one or two of my exercise bands and hair clips. These days are so big I use one of those for dual purpose.
