    Exactly the reason why I just purchased my first Silca pump recently. The commitment of this company to make spare parts accessible is truly great.

    The video instructions work exactly as described. My 30 year old silca pump is working beautifully again. Next project is to change the gauge. Thanks again.

    Great video that shows us exactly what one needs to do. Takes out all of the guesswork.

    Very reassuring that the company supports products like this, gives me confidence to buy from Silca. I just purchased the SUPERPISTA ULTIMATE HIRO EDITION after watching this and other support videos.

    I have an orange barrel pump stamped1987. Do you still make parts for it? It appears the rubber boot/gasket at the bottom of the piston and the O ring where the barrel and bronze base are joined by two allen screws are worn out. Please let me know.

    I cannot get a tight seal of the gasket on the Presta valve. Every time I push down on the pump, air escapes thru the chuck head.
    How do we know how far to push the chuck down into the Presta valve stem?

      Which chuck are you using? Is it new or old? If it's a new chuck, you may have to push it on a little further. To have a better understanding of what the chuck is doing, please contact us at sales@silca.cc. We will help walk you through it.

    I have a model of your pump that has the gauge at the top of the steel barrel, which rests on a brass casting with a rubber o-ring between the barrel and the casting. The inside diameter of the steel barrel measures 27.72mm. I need to replace the leather washer. Do you make a rebuild kit for this pump that includes the rubber o-ring as well as the washer?

    Greeting, I'd like to ask for clarification about conditioning leather washer. I have a vintage Silca super pista and a new Silca leather washer, but I have no access to NFS conditioner due to insanely high international shipping, so can you use regular Vaseline (or fully synthetic oil) for conditioning? thank you.

    • @SILCAVelo
      @SILCAVelo  Před 3 měsíci

      A full synthetic oil will work best.

    I have a very similar pump from my childhood made by Schwinn according to the gauge labeling. The pump is probably 50 years old. The leather gasket is all I need. Would yours possibly work ?

      If you can measure the inside diameter of the tube we can tell you if we have a suitable replacement. Just send the measurement to sales (at) silca.cc

    Dear Silca, I purchased a Silca floor pump in 1992. I hadn't used it for 28 years. When I started riding again a couple of years ago I was going to throw it out as the original rubber (brass reversable) chuck gasket had perished.
    Imagine my joy when I found and installed a new 323 gasket which had my old pump working beautifully once again.
    However, I now have a serious issue. I recently fitted Silca latex tubes that have plastic valve shafts and my 323 gasket will not take purchase.
    Silca tubes that will not take a Silca pump?? Needless to say I am very disappointed. Not only is my heirloom pump seemingly obsolete but I dare not convert to the stainless steel press on chuck (at more expense) as I can't be sure it won't have the same issue. I would appreciate any advice you (or your viewers) may be able to give me. Thanks.

      Mick, what tubes and valves are you referencing? We don't make any with plastic valves? We do have some aluminum valves on our latex tubes.. these are threaded and modern and might struggle to seal on the old 323 chucks (which were discontinued in the early 1990's before threaded tubes really existed..) but if you tighten the cap on your chuck, it will likely help take purchase on the threaded valve stem.. OR you can try the stainless press on chuck, where there is enough gasket flexibiliy that this could be designed in from the outset. OR you can try our Hiro chuck which uses compression and is nearly infinitely adjustable for valve size/shape/diameter.. but it is a bit more expensive
