Bro, I love y’all and I love this podcast, but my older brother cracked his head around September and in late November had an aneurysm after he developed a slow bleed on the brain. I don’t think yours was quite that bad, but it’s still worth just getting checked out man. It’s better safe than sorry.
for real. head injuries should always be taken seriously and checked out. At least go in and get a scan done to make sure there is no swelling or internal bleeding. The dude lost consciousness which is definitely enough to go in.
Hate to mention it, but don't forget that Bob Saget hit his head badly, shook it off, went to bed and basically woke up dead. So yeah. Head trauma is no joke.
my uncle was just playing around with his friend as a teen, play wrestling in his room, and my uncle hit his head on the side of a table by accident... he's completely paralyzed from the waist down now and hes been in a wheelchair for 30+ years
the brain is incredibly powerful, but its also pretty weak... you really can not take much head trauma in your life and come out ok from it

It's amazing that Bert was clearly concussed, but unable to admit he was out.
This is incredibly stupid! As a physician, I have to encourage anyone who sees this comment who experiences something similar to IMMEDIATELY go to the emergency room. Even the mild symptoms he is describing are signs of brain damage. The effects can range from no long term issues at all to death. There is no way of knowing without a full brain scan, which should always be performed as soon as possible.

ICU nurse here. Yea, if you fall and lose consciousness, ie can't remember what happened, especially at Brets age and health condition he could have easily had a brain bleed.

Dude that’s insane I’ve had some bad falls myself from just being clumsy but that was really insane this as close to uncomfortable as I have felt without a true series injury that is physicality shows. Like an arm radius breaking out and poking through someone’s arm or an orbital bone damage that causes the eye to be able to come out of a socket. That’s very hard to watch this is just pull the envelope without fully opening it for me I hope you are alright and you have a professional opinion just to make sure if not for yourself for your family. Love you Bert and Tom stay safe

I have had roughly 5 or 6 concussions in my life, I’m only 22 and it could definitely be considered 8 or 9. Anyway, I’m very aware of the symptoms and my final concussion was my freshman year of college football. I went up for a contested catch during practice and I came down with the ball but smacked the back of my head on the ground. As I was walking back to get in line for my next set, I remember getting in line and getting smacked around by my teammates for having a hell of a catch. After that I remember very little and had symptoms for almost 3 weeks. When it started it seemed minor but then I couldn’t study the playbook and school was starting soon so I called it a career. I highly recommend going to see a specialist about recovery because modern technology and physical training is amazing at repairing the brain. In my experience it was a lot of memory problems and hand eye coordination and balance exercises
