Comedian- *trying to make a political point about following a book* Atheist- *Gonna blow everyone away by also taking a jab at religion* Comedian- *Shuts him down and continues to make his point*
Honestly, the biggest problem in our country is this "Me vs. You" "My Team vs. Your Team" mentality. Too many people no longer want to thrive as Americans, but rather be on top as Democrats or Republicans. It's no longer a collective group with different opinions. It's two teams battling against each other. Simply put, people are taking pride in their political party when they should only be taking pride in their country.
well yea and what's truly unfortunate, all politicians are perfectly aware of this and craft their narrative to exploit every last motherfucking percent of the concept to reinforce people being of that mindset. They'll keep perpetuating pretty much whatever is going to help keep them employed for as long as possible.
ce smith Correction: forcing your patriotism on others and not allowing dissenting opinions is fascism. Patriotism is taking personal pride in your country, recognizing its flaws along with its successes, and trying to preserve, keep up, and improve that way of life.
ce smith ce smith So you're saying that Kim Jong Un, the dictator of North Korea who kills people for taking pictures of him, is as valuable a life as a member of your family to whom you feel closest. If you had to make a choice between the two, Kim Jong Un and one of your family members towards whom you feel immense love and respect, you would have to think about it. Is that what you're saying?
Fahad Ali and the right says the same fucking things. You just proved his point that people are to busy trying to lump everyone into one of two groups and then pit them against each other. Who cares which way someone leans, just have a civilized conversation for a fucking change.
Lewis has been my fav for many years now. He can Rant like I Wish I could. I'd be Committed if I went off like him on stuff. So it fills my Heart to watch him.
i imagine him as alfred. can you picture lewis black yelling at young bruce wayne. "MASTER WAYNE, BRUCE, AND YES IM GONA CALL YOU BRUCE BECAUSE I FUCKING RAISED YOU... YOU ARE NOT GOING ON A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO ASS-ISTAN TO LEARN HOW TO BE A FUCKING NINJA. NO, YOU'RE STAYING AND MANAGING YOUR BUSINESS. YOU BOUGHT A 500 MILLION DOLLAR ARMORED SPORTS CAR SO YOU CAN FIGHT CRIME! ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK? IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE DOING, TRYING TO KILL ME? IF YOU WANTED TO FIGHT CRIME, MAYBE INVEST IN THE FUCKING POLICE FORCE, OR MAYBE SCHOOL FOR GOTHAMS YOUNG KIDS WHO ARE USING TEXT BOOKS FROM THE 1940S. 500 MILLION DOLLARS, IS IT MADE FROM SOME PRECIOUS METAL, LIKE PLATINUM, OR IM-A-RICH-JACK-ASSIUM?"
Between comedians like Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Lewis Black and Richard Pryor our history is littered with funny people being the only ones who make sense. American philosophers.
Maybe the court-jesters are the smart ones, as is the case many times (as in the Clown in Shakespeare's plays) -- artists, bohemians, etc... since when have politicians, etc, have made the most sense in society? Give the comedians a chance! Who knows? Maybe they will run things better!
I'm German born '72 and my father was 8 years old when the war ended and she is spot on. Now that so much time has passed we in fact hear 90+ year people telling how it really was. In the past most who where young adults during the war told us "we where against it, but we couldn't do anything because they would have put us in jail or even kill us". Now we hear at least a few great-grandparents that admit exactly what she said. That it started awesome (like the feeling of Hope and Change when Obama ran for the first time) and great and felt like the right thing (no pun intendet) to do and later when it became clear that Germany will not win the war and they heard at least rumours about the death camps (they knew about the concentration labor camps and where ok with it!) they started to feel uneasy about it or how Kathleen said "it felt weird".
I finished up my higher learning with a BS in sociology in the 80s. I didn't hear about the Holodomor until four years ago. Between three and 12 million people were systematically starved to death in the Ukraine. They were eating furniture before all was said and done. 1932 - 1934 is when the Holodomor happened. It's quite interesting to be kept completely in the dark about an event that was basically as atrocious as that other thing that we've all heard about a million times. I thought it was a hoax at first, but there are dozens of citations about it over on its Wikipedia page. And yes we all have a great excuse for it being hidden so well and for so long: the Soviet Union tried to cover it up as much as is humanly possible. And they did a great job, too!! But now it's time for all thinking people who care about fairness to always mention the Holodomor whenever these other people get on about their "Oh, woe is me" deal once again. Talking about something nonstop for 60 years; c'mon, folks, give it a rest. And give the Holodomor a little well-deserved equal time. (And no: I have zero Ukrainian blood in me.)
Don't you think "not taught" isn't the same as "hidden"? I've to say I've never heard the word Holodomor before, although I've read quite a few books on the Great Terror (which is the term that I know and encompasses a larger time scale, from about 27-37, and is a much larger atrocity with estimates that go up to 50 million dead (although that's an outlier and something in the area or 20-30 million seems to be more probable)) and knew about the starving of (especially, but not only) Ukranians in that time frame. But then teaching history usually is centered on the "history of the nation" in most countries. Have you been taught the atrocities of the Chinese revolution (on both sides) and the Chinese Cultural Revolution (beyond the word)? Pol Pot's 7 million dead in as many years? The Japanese atrocities in the Chinese-Japanese War and continued in WWII? History is full of these events. You can't teach them all, although a I'd personally have liked a more "global" approach ... but then where to stop? Is the history of Polynesian expansion of general interest? Shaka Zulu? Mohenjo Daro? How about the Moghul kingdoms? Are the Japanese, the English/British, the American civil wars of interest to somebody not living in these countries? You'll find some people that'll cry out yes, to each of these questions, but in general you'd at best get a bored no.
Agreed. There's only so much storage room above my neck for casualties of war, genocides, etc. Way way wayyyyy too much of it has been taken up by those early 40s shenanigans in Germany. I am by no means an anti-Semite. Not at all. It's just that if I attempt to reject any and all new (old) info about their plight, and concentrate on learning about others who have been decimated, then I just may end up with a well-rounded education here in another thirty years. Go check out the Holodomor. It's very very interesting. roaxeskhadil
TAR ICO I can recommend "the harvest of sorrow" by Robert Conquest on the subject. Doesn't use the term, and is a bit broader than just concentrating on Ukraine, but it plays a role. Or "The Great Terror" by the same author - not exactly a page turner, but the most comprehensive book on the subject I've encountered.
I love all the shots showing Kathleen looking like she's about to lose her shit against Lewis. When you remember that those two are close friends you can only imagine what their conversations are like sometimes.
truth matters She's actually fairly smart, but most of her comedy styling is based on low brow humor. Making fun of her drunken escapades or weird shit her family does. I think in this case she knows well enough to just let Lewis go off on his tangents because she's used to him doing it, lol.
Politics in America has become theater of the absurd where the opinions of actors and comedians are given more importance than the consequences of the actions taken by the lunatics in charge.
"we kind of thought he was awesome---it was all great, till it got weird" I feel like that one phrase right there sums up the current situation with usa
We act like it's the divided states of America. The only thing that will help this county recover is our willingness to work together and help each other. Peace, Love, Unity and Respect is what America needs a healthy dose of.
A nice sentiment, but largely unlikely when the two main "sides" refuse to agree on what "peace", "love", and "unity" should entail. And I feel like very few people these days have any clue what "respect" even is.
I'd like to see more on those German interviews Kathleen talks about at the end. Anyone know where I can find this footage? Mot even sure what search terms to use.
Most are only in german and not on TV, most of the time it's confessions very old people make to their family and they retell the story since the generation born after the war was not part of the system and does not need to hide it anymore.
That last thing about the Germans makes me think of the US at the moment. "We all thought he was great (trump) we all didnt like the Jews (Muslims) we were not happy about being German, he made us happy about being German (make America great again)" "Then it all got weird" I hope it does not get weird.
that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, & to institute new government, laying it's foundation on such principles, & organizing it's powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness.
I like this guy...never have I heard a more meaningful and effective use of the word 'fuck', great guy! I would love to be at a party with him, larry David, Richard lewis, it would be great!
Did Lewis Black just ask how someone could choose to believe an idea from reading a book??? It's becoming more and more difficult to find ANYONE who has an opinion that isn't based on a 6 yr olds reaction to disagreeing with something.
Jaime kilstein loves to talk about rape culture and how men need to apologize to women but we can all agree women more than likely cover their drinks when he's around😂
It's true what Luis Black said about Ayn Rand's fiction being used as a political philosophy. Hopefully, Jack London's The Iron Heel will be re-read by many working class Americans in this day and age of corporate domination.
So you're saying it's OK as long as it's a political ideology you agree with? Socialism will never work. Just deal with it. If you actually want to help, try to think of something that will actually work.
I can't believe Black was asked about if it was a moral dilemma because he's a comedian, what would he know about morals? It seems that comedians that court morality run the risk of just becoming funny social justice warriors.
Morality doesn't have to reach that far is the thing. Everybody should have some sets of morals, and while morality doesn't mean (to me) don't shake hands with Dick Cheny, it might be another story if the man asked me to go hunting with him.
Ladies and gentlemen, I offer to you the Lewis Black drinking game: every time Lewis says "fuck", ya gotta take a shot! I guarantee, you'll be shitfaced in five minutes!
Justin if youre a psychopath it means youll probably be highly intelligent. no emotional problems, life would be a stroll. this is why women are seen as cursed. im very glad not to be a woman. psycho's arent evil, some yes. hollywood makes them look like insane people, quite the opposite.
I can't imagine anyone sitting back, acknowledging how crazy it's all gotten, and feeling like there's a side they completely connect with. Lewis Black is right.
Can you imagine if that tattooed guy said "ask Muslims" when they talked about works of fiction? He'd never have a job for the rest of his life! No matter what the religion is or how much you stand against a certain faith you don't publicly denounce it as a work of fiction you fucking bastard. Thank you Lewis for defending Christians with that hilarious comeback. This was otherwise a hilarious video
I think it's the way they did the camera work. When I listen to people talk my face goes into this almost resting mad face even though i could be thoroughly enjoying what i am listening to.
resting mad face... definitely a few degrees better than resting bitch face. seriously though, i feel ya. it's those times when people think you're scowling, but you're actually enjoying yourself.
It is not exhausting to listen to Lewis Black, it is exhausting to have the realization that he is the one person of all guests that is completely right and able to express a real human rage about the painful US realpolitik and the dangerous egotism of the american individual.
He just straw maned Ayn Rand's argument. He has clearly never read Ayn Rand. He is a spastic. Why take him seriously? He isn't an economist or a philosopher, he shakes and shakes his finger for money.
gunnargerhardt speak for yourself baldy. I love being an individual and everything government touches turns to garbage. A limited government like our Founders gave us was the right ticket but this nonsense PC coddling and envy towards those who work really hard and have lots of nice things sucks ass- which is the very reason Trump won a three time election. Yep, he beat her old ass three times in one month. Merry Christmas comrade...
I hope that eventually Lewis Black and Ron White do a standup show together called 'Black and White'
Maybe we could add Kathleen Madigan as ...moderator? LOL
(love 'em all!)
HBO, make this happen!
Connor Murphy that's an awesome idea! lol
Kathleen needs to open that show. The three of them together are hilarious.
why, Ron White still does same set he did 10 years ago.
Comedian- *trying to make a political point about following a book*
Atheist- *Gonna blow everyone away by also taking a jab at religion*
Comedian- *Shuts him down and continues to make his point*
That moment when you realize that the Comedian is also an Atheist..
Not Atheist. Prick. Just straight up, dumbass prick who's suffering from a terminal case of Dunning-Kruger.
I love when Lewis gets riled up. His anger makes me happy.

BRILLIANT, love Lewis Black
lewis black should have his own tv show
He wouldn't bring in the kind of ratings TV needs. He would probably have a very successful podcast though.
As a libertarian this is hilarious and accurate 😂😂
Im autistic and ADHD. And its true, I love watching Lewis and him swearing.
Ron White is just sitting there thinking "Damn dude....calm down....here, smoke this."
i miss watching lewis black on comedy central i never see his stand ups there as much.
He was on last night
i saw actually lol
This is true delegating ! No one knows how to talk to each other anymore!
I love all the shots showing Kathleen looking like she's about to lose her shit against Lewis. When you remember that those two are close friends you can only imagine what their conversations are like sometimes.
Is she the one at 5:34 who looks like she momentarily forgot she was on camera before suddenly forcing a smile?
she looked pretty out of sorts i don't know her humor enough to understand why.
truth matters She's actually fairly smart, but most of her comedy styling is based on low brow humor. Making fun of her drunken escapades or weird shit her family does. I think in this case she knows well enough to just let Lewis go off on his tangents because she's used to him doing it, lol.
Aw yeah! Lewis Black and Ron White. Love both those guys.
I swear one day Lewis Black is gonna have a heart attack on stage during a rant. I love him.
Hello Bree
That rant was fucking golden, I was busting a gut but the crowd hardly laughed lol
Madigan swoops in and steals the show!
Politics in America has become theater of the absurd where the opinions of actors and comedians are given more importance than the consequences of the actions taken by the lunatics in charge.
I'm so happy they filmed this whole thing with a shaky cam! It makes it so easy and fun to watch! More crash zooms please! Its not engaging enough!
Lewis black for president
Adam Honda98 I second the motion
if only....
Another Black for president? Just what the trump folks want!
That would be awesome.
"we kind of thought he was awesome---it was all great, till it got weird" I feel like that one phrase right there sums up the current situation with usa
This man gets it. And this is global issue, not just American
I hate that one guys laugh. Black was good as always.
If if if if you looked at my crowd!! HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA I love how Mad he is. I didn’t make it 10 seconds…. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
psychotic vs idiotic.
Pretty much sums it up right there
love lew and Ron seen them both this year oh how great of a show they both did

damn I've always kinda had a crush on Kathy Madigan. I know this was 5 years ago but she looks pretty damn good here.
He is the King. He is my favorite comedian. I love him. He is one of the few that make any sense these days. He needs to be president. Forever.
I watch this, like, daily?? Lmao
I'd like to see more on those German interviews Kathleen talks about at the end. Anyone know where I can find this footage? Mot even sure what search terms to use.
Most are only in german and not on TV, most of the time it's confessions very old people make to their family and they retell the story since the generation born after the war was not part of the system and does not need to hide it anymore.
i'm german american and i have yet to meet one my uropa was locked up for speaking out so i may just be from a very anti Hitler house hold .
My French Catholic Great Aunt was sent to Auschwitz for something similar.
That last thing about the Germans makes me think of the US at the moment.
"We all thought he was great (trump) we all didnt like the Jews (Muslims) we were not happy about being German, he made us happy about being German (make America great again)"
"Then it all got weird"
I hope it does not get weird.
Are you kidding me?!! It already is weird It got weird when he was nominated!
It got weird as SHIT!
Your mom is beyond awesome!
“My ass looks like ground hamburger, but I can still sit down!” -Lewis Black
You think Jamie was awkward here? Watch the video
"Joe Rogan and the Kilstein delusion."
Kathleen Madigan with the German ending. I laughed so hard I farted. Now everyone on the bus is staring at me. DAMNIT!

Seeing your profile picture, all I can say is "Sheeeeeeeeeeit."
Anyway, what's with all the Dutch angles in this show, makes it seems crazier? Haha.
I don't breathe everytime I watch a Lewis Black video, thinking this might be "the one" where he drops. Whew, not tonight.
this mans energy is astounding
he got real into his point!
came back to this epic rant in 2022.. if he only knew...
"Till it got weird" lol :)
It vas all great, until it got vierd!
I totally do believe this.
Lewis Black and Ron White in one room? Amazing.
anger is fuckin lit up!
Was that Lee Camp sitting in the audience? At 4:05 for example?
That was brilliant.
great stuff :D
Did Lewis Black just ask how someone could choose to believe an idea from reading a book??? It's becoming more and more difficult to find ANYONE who has an opinion that isn't based on a 6 yr olds reaction to disagreeing with something.
Love Lewis Black he's real.
Nobody will see my post. Because it says a year ago. But this is the best funniest video I have ever watched
Blimey Lewis just doesn't ever stop
whats the name of the nazi women at the end , that bit killed me
I can't recall the character's full name but it was Frau something from the Austin Powers movies.
the woman looked scared the entire time lewis was screaming, but she closed strong.
4:57 I see you LeeCamp!!!
Well.....if I had to choose....I'd pick idiotic over psychotic....what a terrible compromise
I'm a Trump supporter and I love Lewis Black, he's one of my top 3 favorite comedians
Same, loved him in accepted.
the best thing about Sera paylin is lisa ann
When have libertarians ever been in power?
Thank g-d for Lewis Black! lol
I love this Truth!
I love Kathleen Madigan so much lol
So what would he say with raytheon sitting next to him?
5:08 I didn't understand what Lewis Black meant back then but years later I now understand
lewis black is amazing
Wow, he got really fired up!
Left...Right...it's the same people pulling the strings.
Jaime kilstein loves to talk about rape culture and how men need to apologize to women but we can all agree women more than likely cover their drinks when he's around😂

It seems that comedians that court morality run the risk of just becoming funny social justice warriors.
Christian Prepper
you mean Jon Stewart?
Christian Prepper I find Lewis to be more of a political activist who happens to be funny as fuck than a legit comedian.
Ooooo! Good example. Jon Stewart is hilarious. Although his politics are screwed & he doesn't have many morals.
Good analysis.
Morality doesn't have to reach that far is the thing.
Everybody should have some sets of morals, and while morality doesn't mean (to me) don't shake hands with Dick Cheny, it might be another story if the man asked me to go hunting with him.
Holy shit! Lee Camp in the audience!
My guy was Dick Chaney. That was funny!
Ladies and gentlemen, I offer to you the Lewis Black drinking game: every time Lewis says "fuck", ya gotta take a shot! I guarantee, you'll be shitfaced in five minutes!
You have to have 40 shot glasses handy, he could ramble off that many in one sentence
I'd rather be an idiot than psychotic
Justin if youre a psychopath it means youll probably be highly intelligent. no emotional problems, life would be a stroll. this is why women are seen as cursed. im very glad not to be a woman. psycho's arent evil, some yes. hollywood makes them look like insane people, quite the opposite.
1:23 Lewis Black, one of the all-time greats. Sums up what I think perfectly right here...
When Lewis Black takes off his glasses, you know your belly is going to hurt.
wholly shit... ron white and lewis black right across from each other on a circular couch....my life is complete
I'm a grungy black lesbian in my early 30s and I'm an LB fan. Pretty libertarian. Stoner. Don't really fit in too many places but whatever.
I can't imagine anyone sitting back, acknowledging how crazy it's all gotten, and feeling like there's a side they completely connect with. Lewis Black is right.
I laughed my tits off
I'm on the side that wants to live in Red vs. Blue. At least the idiots make you laugh.
I feel like Kathleen's comments at the end are becoming EXTREMELY relevant in today's America
5 years later you post it? Why did this pop up as being current on You tube?
Can you imagine if that tattooed guy said "ask Muslims" when they talked about works of fiction?
He'd never have a job for the rest of his life! No matter what the religion is or how much you stand against a certain faith you don't publicly denounce it as a work of fiction you fucking bastard.
Thank you Lewis for defending Christians with that hilarious comeback. This was otherwise a hilarious video
honest question -- why do so many commenters hate kilstein?
i'm unfamiliar with him, and have seen an inordinate number of negative comments.
fucking Christ it's always a joy watching Lewis black riff
How the fuck did Jamie kilstein get on this
Lewis Black for World Emperor 2016.
Kathleen Madigan saved this.
Ron White didn't look that happy for a few parts.
I think it's the way they did the camera work. When I listen to people talk my face goes into this almost resting mad face even though i could be thoroughly enjoying what i am listening to.
resting mad face... definitely a few degrees better than resting bitch face. seriously though, i feel ya. it's those times when people think you're scowling, but you're actually enjoying yourself.
it always works for me, lol
L F I think they ran outa scotch.
resting mad face....resting bitch face....
hilarious!
man, Lewis Black is a choleric
He speaks the truth, but it's exhausting to listen to him.
Dude, I couldn't describe what I feel when I watch him until now.
ayoshutduff
did you saw him on
'big bang theory' ?
Who's watching after "the thing" happened?
Man this camera work is so annoying.
