Video Game Magazines - Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN)

- The AVGN pulls out and reviews as many video game magazines as he can find, except for Nintendo Power. From Atari Age, to GamePro, to some lesser known gaming magazines, the 80s and 90s were filled with great reads. The walkthroughs, reviews, previews, ratings... and the terrible ads. This is episode 166 of the Angry Video Game Nerd season 13.

There wasn't an AVGN episode in February... so we're going to release two in April. Our goal is to upload one or two episodes a month from now on. Sorry for the delay. Oh, and just in case you missed it, we covered Kingdom Hearts in January: czcams.com/video/-LpJnN9Imbg/video.html Thanks for watching.

@Cinemassacre can you do Thomas the Tank Engine on SNES and mega drive plz?
All the old school fans will notice the Metroid music at the beginning and how it was always the tune that played when the old "Screw Attack" logo would show.
My thoughts exactly! Beautiful!
Considering that whole bit was a callback to the Nintendo Power video, which was still the time when the Screwattack logo was put up front
Got that in an instant, miss the old top ten with Craig and Tom :(
I remember, it makes me feel old
I was like WTF did I click an old video wait a sec....
10 years later and I still get giddy whenever a new Nerd video comes out.

They mailed that ish to me....was the best time
Hope you still have that ish, because it's now considered an underrated gem of a console.

the golden age of youtube.

I saw the flametrower of elon in the intro and had to check the date of this video
@@thepowerofIandI More like dark age. It was less commercialized to be sure, but it was no golden age, especially when video editors weren't what they are today, content was sparse and the majority just garbage. There were only a handful of channels making decent content, but those were more professional people with experience in production.
That’s exactly why, content was more humanized and you got to watch it grow on its own without the influence of bullshit editors and adverts. Yeah it was a dark age, but with it came gold that shined bright
I have an old Playstation Magazine copy from when the Playstation 2 was just coming out.
