  • Know before you buy upper control arms. (THIS IS A LONG ONE)
    In this video we are going over our experience with upper control arms. I'm going to cover everything I went through during my quest for UCA's. Hopefully this video will help others who are in the market for aftermarket upper control arms. The alignment issues we had gave us a headache. Camburg eventually had to diagnose the truck top to bottom. Heim joint UCA's made our truck feel brand new. Why Camburg? Well that was simple. Camburg provided great customer service and went above and beyond in all areas. If you are having upper control arm problems, I encourage you to reach out to camburg. I hope this video helps someone along the way. Don't forget to follow us on Instagram @Tundra4x4.Club

    I was just at an off-road shop a few weeks ago talking about a lift for my Tundra. It just so happened there was a Tundra in the shop finishing up a lift install using Camburg UCAs.
    They did the alignment, pulled the Tundra out of the shop, and I watched as they turned the wheels, the front tires flopped over at 20+ degrees of camber. It literally looked like something was broken.
    I went back into the shop and asked the tech why that was happening. According to him, the Camburg UCAs have something like 8 degrees of caster, which is MUCH more than any other UCAs on the market. And when you have a lot of caster, your tires gain lots of camber when turning.

    So, I have a 2018 and I have the same tubular arms you "had" I have the same shimmy in the front end, I've heard the same limitations from my alignment people.. I don't what day of week my truck was made? I'm curious, this couldn't be just our problem? And as much as it's great that they have you credit for your initial 650 plus dollars purchase. I have an issue with having to spend another 650.00 to fix a problem with part that's made for my truck that doesn't work.. I'm I wrong or are we the only two guys with tundras tgat the tubular arms don't work? I live a closer to Camburg than you do and it wouldn't be an issue to drive up there, however it is interesting listening to you story and feeling like you just laid out my whole issue as well. Coinsidence?

As I mentioned, they diagnosed the full truck, furthermore, they made sure the control arm was built to spec. The arm wasn’t the issue in my case, my truck was. I hope you get your problem worked out. It was seriously the most frustrating thing for me to go through.

    • @camburgracing
      @camburgracing Před 4 lety +1

      The Procomp kit uses a drop down bracket set up for the geometry of the stock arm. When you lift or Level a Toyota with a coilover only the camber goes positive so we make the upper arms slightly shorter than the stock arms. This corrects the camber. If you run an aftermarket arm with a dropdown style lift kit you will be having negative camber in the range you mentioned. This is where our heim pivot billet arms will work and correct this.

    Camburg stayed on the phone with you because you probably wouldn't let them get off the call... You know you talk too much when you admit that you're boring yourself.

    I couldn't finish watching this endless rambling, 28 minutes of babbling for 5 minutes worth of actual content. I'm sure there is some good information in there somewhere but it got lost in the clutter.

    So basically camburg standard arms suck. Buy the dirt king adjustable uca's. When upgrading always go with adjustable skip the cheap crap.
