Battle Spirits Saga has been a personal favorite of mine for over a year now. The card game is fun, has interesting mechanics. It's a shame we no longer will have cash prizes.

This game is definitely dead but me and my partner really enjoyed cracking all those $30 boxes

It sucks cause I saw MASSIVE potential. It had all the signs of a good game, but between marketing and hype it failed to drum up support.
They don’t have a current anime/mainstream story to connect to, this is most likely what stunted its growth.

@@dreameater4real Yeah, I mean it's an alright game. I think gameplay wise most of bandai's other output is more fun, but I do like the kind of simple fantasy art most of the cards have for BSS. The real issue I guess is there's like 20 card games on the market and TCGs are a horrible waste of money if they don't take off, so people don't want to risk getting into more than 1 or 2. The draw has to be really extreme to get into a card game and I think the game designers forget that. The average table top gamer avoids TCGs because of the assumption you have to keep investing to keep up.

This is a great game, but if there's anything that yugioh, pokemon, and the previous BS release taught us is that IP matters. Yugioh succeeded with the anime. Pokemon had the games and show. No one in the US is familiar with any of the spirits or archetypes. Players don't feel the sense of awe playing Siegwurm like they would playing a Blue Eyes. Bandai needs to make the players feel involved in the world/lore
