The rigging UI looks fascinating, also the visualization between the tweaking points with the lines that deform with the mesh
This animation system is just amazing !
being able to animate with an official pixar rig would be sweet, they look so fun to use
I would love to see how this whole rig is set up within Maya or any other 3D application. The accessibility to deform your mesh on the fly instead of having to correct the pose blows my mind.
There’s a technical paper and video that goes with the video for Turning Red too. A Curvenet for Pixar is another primitive that’s even different from a simple curve, much like hair is a specialized curve with its own functionality.
The way the rigging works you see it preserve the geometry when posing so you need less tedious weightpainting(still adjustments need to be made or course but that’s the idea).
But it’s Pixar focused right now because the curve nets have an algorithm probably not released to the public yet, but it’s not unheard of since the principled shader was taken from Pixar’s work on wreck it Ralph and put into the other softwares and so was Render Man and even as far back as subdivision surfaces so maybe some day
"As you can see, the setup is quite simple."
Me, a non-animator and thoroughly confused by the sight alone: *nodding*
interesting the way ember and wade were animated, good job pixar!!!
This movie surprised me. The animation is next level, such a beauty. I had to get the art book!
I really wish there's another Elemental 2 I love the movie so badd
The design and look of Elemental is the greatest animation I have ever seen, I absolutely love the movie and laugh all the time.
OMG so much dots to move really nice work guys
I KNEW IT, I knew Pixar was working on something awesome! They always do!
love this because they make it look easy, amazing rig
Used to love all this knowledge. Than again...... after acing all studies and experience..... no job open in singapore... not much. Can't get out of singapore so end up..... turn away. BUTTT still.... rewarding watching such video.
It's a tough time in the industry world wide because of the strikes. But they are important because AI protections need to be put in place so we all have jobs in a few years. Keep your head up and keep creating. There will be a job for you soon!
My dear, in my channel, I am digitally portraying the characters of Elemental animation. Go ahead and watch the video, and if you like it, subscribe to my channel.
When will the advanced shape warp feature come to Blender? :)
And now we will play the waiting game
i think Blender can do it, it just needs a bit of tinkering with the Addons and Modifiers, Blender can do allot of amazing things but for the cost of time and well we all know that but knowledge of how to use the software(aka Blender)
Interesting, I've never heard of a curvenet. It's reminiscent of how CAD programs usually do things; modeling with Beziers and splines instead of straight segments.
So cool
It may be a bit too... general a question, but what are the programs and software that production houses, at least for animation, use to animate, model, texturize, apply effects, edit and assemble scenes, create music, edit existing music?
presto
I bet they use them all. As you can see in this R&D example, if needed, they may also write their own software. But would not surprise me if they did use Blender, Maya C4D, Modo, just to achieve a particular effect. A Disney Pixar production can cost up to what? 250M? And gross up to a bi, so yeah, they pretty much can afford every single software imaginable and create their own. In fact, as far as I know, Disney IS the industry, many standards were inventend by them or engineers/researchers that at one point worked for them or were funded by them, that's the case for many shading technologies, animation, modeling, lighting, rigging, the list is huge.
Here I’m fairly certain they’re using a proprietary software they made called Presto. It’s what Pixar uses the most commonly to animate. Disney, and pretty much ever other major studio, uses Maya primarily for animation. As for the rest of the pipeline, it really depends
@@kingofthekoopas8857 yep
I LOVE THIS MOVIE 💧 🔥 ❤️ I NEED A PART 2 and part 3 and part 4 PART 5 PART 6 PART 7 PART 8 part 9 part 10 AND PART 1000000
wow se pueden moldear shapekeys sin necesidad de tener que hacer cientos de capas ya hechas? increible
Maya proximity wrap deformer should be able to achieve the same using a nurbs surface as a driver
Cool

We need those models on the Blender software
Geometry must be very high poly for this 😮
Neat!
Does anyone know what simulation software for water, clouds, fire, etc. that Pixar uses?
Is this in Presto because it honestly looks kinda like Blender.
Someone needs to send me the models and the link to get them
why is it laggy?
Hawt
So It's kinda like proportional editing?
is this the same tool from turning red? :0
они чо вручную анимируют
это же такой труд
gosdai how I want to do. animations with winx club models
What animation software was Elemental made on?
Pixar uses their own proprietary software called Presto. It's not available to the public.
@@silverblaize oh
@@silverblaize I thought it was Maya hahah
I thought it more looked like blender
@@silverblaizegood thing is that if you apply for pixar and got selected, they teach you how to use the software.
What program use it
Presto
This is presto right!?
where can i get this software?
apparently you can't. This is Pixar's own software called Presto. And its not available for public
Which kind if programme do you use?
Presto
@@davidaugustofc2574 thanks
What program is this on? It looks like Houdini or maya??
Pixars inhouse animstion program presto.
No face rigging?
Cuantos vertices tiene
menos q el banban seguro
auto retop ?:D
Blender can do this with Bendy bones
Good for blobby movement. But this would never work for bipeds and quarupeds.
Nooooo
the animation is great, but the character design is ugly.
Ember looks fine, the others are nothing "wow" but work as designs. Wade has some form that matches his personality. It could've been worse =)
So cool
