Here's a run of a few short shots I animated for the "Moana" teaser trailer. You'll see in the progression that two of the shots eventually merged, thus cutting one shot completely. This happens all the time in feature animation, just part of the process. We put our hearts into our work only to have some of it thrown out at the end 😂. I do love how it turned out though.

    Despite the flak this movie received, when you watch the first film and dissect the differences and similarities between Po and the Chameleon, it makes sense. Po was dismissed and almost bullied out of being taught Kung Fu because he was pudgy, sluggish and not super focused. The Chameleon was turned down being taught Kung Fu because she was small, and those teachers were probably like Oogway and saw dark malice in her intentions to learn Kung Fu and refused to teach her.
