  • We present a new shaping rig for authoring layers of animation control that facilitate surface editing in shot work. Our approach expands the curvenet rigging technology by introducing new tools that auto-generate a surface-aligned direct manipulator per curvenet knot.

    Really interesting work! Where could we find the Corvent's model and source code?

      Its an in-house tool. Only way to get your hands on it is to go work for Pixar

      @@LordLuigi_RigsI see. Fair enough. But they seem to be using bicubic bezier patches, so in theory, it can be replicated. Similar to cage deformers, but using bezier surfaces. They have a paper on it "Character Articulation through Profile Curves". I'm gonna try implementing something similar this summer, see how deep this rabbit hole is :)
