Let me know of your experience or how you know italki and if this is anything like you've experienced in the past. Working online can be a great option but I want to kind of let you in on the pro's and cons based on my personal experience, especially in regard to the pay.
If you want to know anything else please drop in the comments down below

"I raised my prices from $12 to $25 and it didn't really work"
No kidding, you need to do incremental increases to avoid everyone jumping ship.

Forreal, what she think would happen doubling the price of the hour lmao. If any of our monthly subscriptions doubled we'd probably cancel it

Thank you for your video! I'm a senior in college and planning to work as a professional tutor on Italki after I graduate from college. I hope I could make some regular students :)

Hey Charlene! I think italki will be a great opportunity for you as you graduate from college, making regular students is not as hard as you think it is!

Gosh Gab - congrats on teaching so many hours! I was overbooked at the beginning as well. Then I was under-booked. It’s definitely a process.
I disagree with the points about flourishing / growing on the platform. I definitely have, and there are many students who eat up my structured lessons. That said, it’s probably not the end all be all for me. Thanks for the video!

I am curious how much money you have left if you are paying insurance, retirement plan and taxes?

I'm glad that you've found great things on Italki, Ryan! What do you think would be your end all be all?

hahaha, look where I find you, Ryan! I was going to comment something similar. @gablingo I am quite new. My starting price is currently $20 for structured classes (which will be going up) and $14 for conversaional ones (I've only done like 70 classes in total) as a community tutor! I am currently doing my certification to become a professional teacher, and everything indicates that iTalki can give me the price range I am used to in other teaching jobs I've had.
My advice would be to raise your prices, yes. But do so while also raising the quality of your classes. Brand yourself better, work on your confidence and most importantly, your teaching materials. I swear to you that doing those things, will most likely make you succeed on the platform!

@@gabilingo2357 Thanks for asking and congrats on all of your success as well!
The sky's the limit: PhD in Applied Linguistics, develop a teacher-training business, curriculum and course development. Let's see how it goes. 🤩
But yes, iTalki alone doesn't cut it. How about you? What are your long-term goals (if you don't mind me asking)?

Hello! It's pretty easy, all you have to do is fill out an application on the website, it'll take you through the process step by step

Are you still a teacher in Italki?

  • @6ood6ame

Not a helpful video. You completly isolate your salary from all important factors. There are a lot of people earning between 20 and 80 dollars an hour on the platform. Of course they are in the minority and probably sell a superiour service.
