    Hi everyone, thanks for your comments. It means a lot and I LOVE reading through them.
    A lot of you are commenting that this is not the Indian accent and that I am misleading people.
    I wanted to respond to this.
    Firstly, just because it is the south Indian accent, it doesn't mean that it is NOT an Indian accent. I am very well aware that there are many accents across India, and I mentioned this in this video: czcams.com/video/z7MIyQS9p5E/video.html
    Secondly, I do not appreciate racism on my channel. I recently received a comment saying "That was madrasi english accent, And not the Indian one. Chutiya". This comment is exclusionary and racist as it assumes that people from Madras (a city in India) are not part of India.
    Another user writes: "Not an indian accent at all,it's is South Indian accent and seems like you belong to South!! not being offensive but it is true mate". This comment is incredibly offensive.
    South India is still in India.

    I grew up in Germany but grew up strictly bilingual with a british family friend teaching me and talking to me since the age of 3/4. So naturally I have a british accent due to growing up with an english friend AND being taught BE from the kindergarden on. But somehow some of my classmates did not pick up british accents but infact have quite thick german accents. How come? There is no reason they'd have a strong natural british accent when not talking english outside of class,I get that, but 12 years of English classes must have had a bit of an impact on their flow and pronounciation.
    I am also capable of switching to a very thick german accent but that takes more effort than just speaking in my natural british accent.but most of my classmates thought I was faking the accent cause I was capable of "turning it off".

      You are a Dumb guy. In India we know we have many accents, even most Indians speak better accent than these Americans and British. But the thing is , there are so many south Indians worldwide that foreigners think that we only have that accent cause they hear that accent only. Not most non south Indians live abroad and that’s the reason for the stereotype

  • @subhradas7919

    Actually, the Indian accent sounds more like how the South Indians speak in general....People from other parts of India who are fluent in English speak a bit differently, but to be precise, amazing video!

  • @pcmobitab
    @pcmobitab Před 4 lety +1

    Its not just the accent that will make you sound like a British or American, something more to it, the jargons used by individual culture, like in Britain, "Cheers Mate" , "Are you Alright!" instead of saying say, Hi How are you? (Typical textbook Indian style) ;-) These things has to be kept in mind. So for someone staying in Britain its easy for him/her to learn these naturally by simply listening/communicating.

    in normal conversation, I've noticed that the content of a person's speech can change depending on the audience/environment, and vice versa. this absolutely includes accent changes.
    it's not a night and day difference, but it can really raise an eyebrow. I think it's a good reminder of each person's responsibility to keep an eye on their own behavior.
    edit: "content" might be too vague. this is meant to suggest attitudes and presumptions that influence a person's world view.

    In India, there are a variety of accents for English as well. So if your accent doesn't match the one he's speaking in, don't say it's not an Indian accent. Obviously it is. My english accent doesn't match with that of my friends. It doesn't mean that I am not having an Indian accent.

      Shivani vyas Well, yeah but I think this video is not about details, it's about embracing one's roots. So, we can cut him some slack over here and actually support him. Just like India, many countries have different accents but we still only get to see the generalised 'American accents' or 'British accents' in the videos. We don't care about the details there then why here? It's not a big deal. Right?
