Nice wood. I cut on a steep slope above a woods road, buck a few big rounds, stand them upright to make a catch fence along the road's edge, then I can roll more down behind them without having to shepherd each one down the hill.
Am I wrong here, or are you stealing this wood from someone else’s property? It looks as though it’s been left there by someone who intends to collect it later.
We got along behind the power company as they take trees down to keep the lines clear. After wind storms are great also for free wood. Don’t forget you always have a empty front passenger seat you can put a few extra smaller rounds in each trip! 😊
I have found when splitting wood rather than hitting in the center of the block of wood hit 3 to 4 inches from the side. It usually splits right off on the first hit. Then just continue going around and you'll end up with a square center which will also split very easy. I love splitting oak this way, it also makes it very stack-able.
I do the same but I use Craigslist. I haven't done the side of the road thing yet but I'm tempted everytime I drive by a nice down tree waiting to be taken. I have a 99 Chevy K2500 with an 8 foot bed. Nice truck!
Love splitting wood. I highly recommend the fiskars x27. I do about 30 cord a year mostly by hand unless it stringy and that's my weapon of choice. I have broken 2 or 3 and they send you a new one no questions asked. What kinda stove u rocking? I got s jotul f500 & hearthstone heritage.

Nice camera work. Fun to see the shots with the camera attached to the logs. Thanks for your efforts.

Nice oak. That's what I am burning exclusively lately. It's my favorite.

I always seem to be coming across one of your videos I have yet to see. You didn’t want to mill the big log?

Wicked nice!
Great find man! You're lucky, if you'd try to "steal" this from the side of the road in my shithole country, you'd be fined a hefty sum of money:)
