I made four workshop mallets and tried to build them all a bit differently. I used brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and wood. To make these mallets, I used multiple techniques such as turning on a mini lathe, but also performed similar operations using a drill press, table saw, or router table to make the mallet handles. I attached the workshop mallet heads to the handles three different ways: threaded rod, through handle with a wedge, and mortise and tenon. Ultimately, if you want to make a mallet for your workshop I’m hoping this video gave you some ideas and a solid starting point for your project.
