Thom Yorke at Zermatt Unplugged - Full Multicam - April 9, 2022

- I wondered how Thom Yorke's Zermatt Unplugged set went since I wasn't there, and so I made this multicam out of whatever was publicly available in order to reconstruct it. I tried to make the most complete video I could, meaning that if I found anything that covered a section that nothing else did, then I added it here. Because of me trying to fit in as much material as I could, some of the song transitions aren’t very smooth. This also caused the video's quality to vary a lot, but I still did what I could to tie the segments together.
A warp stabilizer effect in Premiere Pro was applied to karindgr’s video segments, which adds a trippy effect. All videos were color graded to add more contrast and make them darker.
I did not EQ the audio. However, I did do a LOT of spectral editing in order to remove most of the audience noises, clicks, audio jumps, etc., and I also manually shaved down the high frequencies in Thom’s vocals. A big reason I made this video was to practice spectral editing, and so it’s pretty clean compared to the source material. This makes the audio less authentic, but I was editing for palatability.
Here's a picture I found of the printed setlist: i.imgur.com/pkC9PEF.png

Multiple Angles
#thomyorke #radiohead #zermatt - Hudba
Anyone doubting Radiohead's future need only look at this. Some of these songs should not be played acoustically, yet he's done it and pulled it off. He clearly remains connected to his roots, I don't think that will ever go.
After a fruitful ever changing musical relationship of around 30 years, who is doubting their future?
I had to get up and reflect on this at 25:08. The accomplishment is such that it could not have been conceived of in advance. It must have been that they lived it as it happened. I just corrected myself with my mistake. I was going to say "they lived 𝘪𝘯 it". They didn't live in it, they 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 it, and recorded it. We're listening to the echoes of the genius moment as it happened and we're now wading in the breadth of its warm ripples as they surround.
That's true... but what is it that we want? Is it good music or is it Radiohead? Honestly I kinda love the new smile album and I kinda love their drummer.... You can't do those songs without a drummer like that...
@@juggadorefax. Skinner got some insane dynamic control on the drums, it doesn’t just give off rhythm, he creates a atmosphere through it.
That EEEEEEEED on Weird Fishes will always be a tradition and it always put a smile to the band, this one its Thom 😂
Same! It's the best part of one of their best songs.
To be honest, this concert is extraordinary. What a bloody genius this man is. Totally unique :)
I'm gonna double down on this by also adding that he's insanely talented, inventive and a level beyond what most other musicians could even hope to be. I also like that when he (very, very rarely) makes a mistake he's entirely human about it and just says fuck it, sorry. There's another video of him doing this on CZcams and just apologising to the audience and admitting to his error. I think most musicians just try and style it out.
He's not unique at all.
Clearly this guy copies off of Radiohead
😉
We are all lucky and in love with his performance...not dead at 27 years old😂
I love Thom Yorke so much man. Favorite musician of all time
Really bold to do solo acoustic versions of so much material
Hopefully he does more of these, would love to see In Limbo, Treefingers, and Life in a Glasshouse being covered at a solo concert
Edit: Optimistic, too.
These are my twisted words sounded amazing!
don't worry, it's thom yorke
I'm not even a big radiohead fan, but clearly Yorke is a musical genius and thus can stand solo.
This video reminds me of those solo elliott smith shows where you could hear a pin drop in the crowd during the acoustic songs
It's just really really special to hear Bodysnatchers acoustically, Thom is so bold in this concert, such a treasure trove!
Absolutely true
Love the "Remove the fucking backbone" bit!
So interesting to hear it without the iconic distortion in it and muddy production. Yorke is a genius
Just… Wow ❤
100th like 👍🏻 You're welcome 😊
Thom is probably one of the best musicians to have ever walked this earth.
And jacob collier appeared 🤣
@@gregoirebertho using all that great musical talent to make mid ass music lol
@@gregoirebertho Jacob could take all of his knowledge and technicality together in one song and wouldn't create anything nearly as emotionally touching as any Radiohead song.
@@JustCauseBoomwell, then, they have nothing to share. Amen.
I believe too.
Exit music is so fire. It shows that thom hasn’t lost it one bit.
I don’t think anybody’s literally ever questioned this 😂
He seems more comfortable with himself these days. After OK Computer he appeared unprepared for the accolades and adulation accorded to him. He touched the World with his work, not ready to be deified like a Messiah.
All of a sudden, we wanted to express our sincere emotions because we were all blown away.
It was life changing, exciting, like no artist had presented such an effect on a fan base, who equally didn't expect or know what was going on.
That connection struck us dumb, articulating our personal reactions was way different and beyond the regular vocabulary reserved for any musical act that had gone before.
Our generation has grown up with Thom and the Boys, putting them above anything else in the history of Music, yet trying to describe what they have done for us is often beyond words.
They connect with our whole individual inner selves in a spiritual yet cerebral way, they've soundtracked our psyché, touching our unique souls where we were previously empty.
Thom is the reluctant hero.
I don't know if he can embrace his Genius or ever wanted to be Worshipped.
(He doesn't seem that way. I just hope he carries on creating because whether he likes it or not, he is So Fucking Special).
Wow. Thank you. Your articulation of the him and Radiohead's affect on us back then ,and still, couldn't have been better expressed
@@ohiotattoo1 thanks.
Thom is not performing, he's a medium that channels us through by opening his door to this cosmic realm of melodies, soundscapes,vibrations...
And we gaze at this new world!
This reminds me of the time Thom Yorke played a solo acoustic set at the Bridge School Benefit concert back in the early 00's, and had the audacity to play Paranoid Android with just a guitar. I was there, and it was as awesome as you can imagine.
It’s on CZcams
Love Thom. In this carnation he does not appear unlike someone who sees through nights on a park bench.
Women and children first,bloody hell!
Listening Thom performing Rabbit in your headlights after all this years it was the best present of the 2022. He's still got it. And that smile when crowd sing Ed part was pure love ♥.
If I understand correctly, you publically sourced and pieced together varied snippets of videos and soundtracks using varied methods\technologies to produce this all in one creation. I'm enthralled by your effort as much as I am Thom Yorke's captured performance.
czcams.com/video/x-sXCLljsEM/video.html
Removed the audience claps on free in the knowledge did a release right when it came out but did not get to finish the audio editing on all songs. Nice job gonna have a listen later I bet a lot of good video has come out since maybe even great audio to work with as well. If youd like to use the audio for this song by all means. Radiohead fans unite like they did 2011 madison square garden!!
MAD respect for him to do this, crazy.
Possibly the greatest ensemble of tracks that have been performed in a single live show ever
100%
Maybe in English. Soda Stereo’s final concert was just as good.
That version of Idioteque was 💖
Goosebumps
all the people singing backup vocals on weird fishes is so magical
I came back and left with tears, again, yeezus, idk, this concert has something
This guy is a musical genius.
Weird Fishes is one of the finest pieces of music ever captured that so succinctly describes the human condition and the unbearable weight of being that each of us can experience at any given time, if not be consumed by. Everyone wants a way out at some time in their lives, no matter how big, or small in the grand scheme their current "issue" seems. Beautiful, beautiful piece of music.
Much props to this. I know how much works goes into creating a multicam using multiple sources but it's it's the journey not the destination that makes it worthwhile.
What an insanely talented human being.
I didn't know he was this fucking good
Serfi, thank you for all the amazing editing and audio work... what an incredible gift to all of us fans and other Thom/Radiohead enthusiasts
Also, thanks to all the underlying film footage creators that Serfi weaved together!
Thanks and yes, if the videos and audio didn’t exist, then it wouldn’t have been possible in the first place… The main audio in particular was good enough to inspire me to keep working on the project
the upload is a work of technical wizardry
One of the greatest musicians ever. Thanks Tom.
It feels kind of like classic Neil Young when it’s all stripped back acoustic and piano like this. Very cool.
Funny because Thom is Neil Young’s number 1 fan :) he talks about it always and how he was struck and didn’t know what to say when he met Neil young
Thom makes me think of Roy Harper I hear a lot of Roy's influence on Thom's singing.
Putting this video together is just incredible and amazing work. Thank you very much!
Pure greatness, truly an inspiring artist. He goes far beyond the “rockstar”, he’s an all time great of song writing and performance, across many genres, and many years. To do a performance like this solo is just amazing.
Great com for sure!! Regard
I am not a pianist at all... but the actual cheat for Daydreaming arpeggio is basically play the original verses melody with the right hand adding 2 more notes just in between using the left hand... It is actually very very simple! And of course, really beautiful to hear! Jonny is a genious!
Sorry for my bad english, saludos desde México!
Thom surely has an incredible voice, but compared to other contemporary vocalists, he has never gotten worse as time goes by. Instead he has developed his voice even furtherly. A clear example of that being "Weird fishes/Arpeggi" from this concert. Beautiful in 2007, still stunning in 2022 (and 2023--->)
29:01 That was just legendary lol. I was suspecting he was learning a bit with Jonny since his piano skills improved a lot and he just admits it lol. Fantastic version still.
Oh fuck it, I can't play it.
@ my favourite moment of the whole set!
@@stevecanning849 mine's 1:26:44 :p
These are my twisted words is immaculate in this performance
Oh man, I wish Thom would release an unplugged record with this tracklist. Imagine these renditions polished by Nigel in the studio. Daydreaming...

Aucun mot ne peux retranscrire l’émotion donnée par ce concert improbable et de haute volée. Merci à toi Tom pour ce merveilleux moment qui nous fait tout oublier et nous plonge dans un monde de bonheur!
This clearly proves something. Not sure what. But it is really really SOMETHING.
To give you a spotlight, what an absolutely amazing piece of video and audio work. Insane talent we don’t even see in professional productions with audio that might as well be just as good. Congratulations are in order.
Wow Eraser was really amazing. Everything about that song is so great these vocals, the chords. And it is almost otherwordly when the kicks in. There we are take into another realm.
The Clock explodes with energy live. The world of sound he builds with the loops is incredible.
Oh wow! This is a dream show! Thank you so much for putting this together. 💓
Probably the best version of Eraser I've heard.
Also, thank you so much for the editing/production. That's something is really extraordinary and easily DVD quality.
Nah, nothing beats Latitude Festival version.
Your attention to detail in the video description is wonderful and very appreciated
shout out to Serfi for making it able for me to electronically be here! awesome compilation!!!
You're welcome, I made it for me to be there in some sense too lol
One of the best concerts of my life.... I was so lucky to be there, almost front row..... thank you for this amazing work for the multicam
Idioteque was terrifying in the most beautiful way
He even does Rabbit in Your Headlights!!! What a performance!
THE GENIUS BEHIND RADIOHEAD TRUE GENIUS EVREY SONG IS MASTERPIECSE THANK FOR UPLOAD
How tf does this not have more views? Dude! Thank you for this !
That was the best I've seen Thom at and solo! Awsome
recently in Japan, my neighbors swallow's nest on the ledge was broken, but chicks could fly away🎉
your music is so unique because make me think↑
That version of The Eraser is wonderful
Jesus…! What a set!
Master voice, unpluged & pluged!
Tom!
Cheers Mate! 🍻
2023 still going with the great Thom Yorke
Thom is not just a musical genius. He's a prophet for me!!
He's not your savior
This is an example of a perfect concert!
it was a perfect time...
Holy shhhhhh, that Bodysnatchers is just fantastic!!!
This is a truly astonishing set. I cannot get over how he captures the detail and delicacy of his material solo.
I loved the comments almost as much as the video. you jest. no you jest bro. lovely all around. incredible set. thank you all!! viva las thom/vegas!!
He is one of thest musicians in the world, breathtaking performance
I can only dream that he and Jonny do more of these kinds of gigs so I can attend one day. Small intimate venues, unplugged… one day… lol
Great show and EXCELLENT job editing/putting video sources together + 'mastering' the available audio by Serfi. It feels like being there, a lot. :)
The scream in the loop of bloom is so haunting
My god, Rabbit in your headlights was amazing! what a setlist, what a show! Thank you so much for this.
He has years upon years of remarkable piano compositions that I was wondering if he was ever still playing since he has oceans of newer material and could compose 3 new tracks before lunch..and probably does. Still...only by memory he plays this whole concert...remarkable.
Absolutely brilliant concert!! thanks for taking the time to put it together!! this is just stunning.
Thank your for making me relive the best day of my life
Wow that hour and forty minutes went by in a blink of an eye. What a show.
Love how Thom connects with the songs... and invites us to join
Thank you for putting such a great effort to make this concert accessible and nice to listen to. Bloom always gives me chills.
Great work! Twisted words sounds amazing
not being there but creating something so special, so beautiful, so deep. Thank you so much Serfi.
Thom really is one of the good ones
Thank you for your work! Love the highlights you time-stamped
My god these are my twisted words acoustic is incredible.
Amazing set, back to back top quality songs. Spectre is just fabulous
He really brought out the heavy artilery on this one in terms of set list. Also mostly the weirder ones.
feels like in the tent...danke vielmals for the effort...titanic... I cant recommend this/him/the-unplugg enough
I'm sharing this video to everyone in fan groups, it is an amazing set and outstanding performance!!! Grettings from Mexico, thank you for the great work!
Thom Yorke at the piano is where his musical genius shines brightest...
Thank you so much for this , sharing this beautiful show, it means more than words can express to see and hear our wonderful Thom York. What a master of his craft!!
Thank you for putting this together
Very well done, thanks for putting this together. I appreciate the spectral editing for palatability, great choice.
This set list is insane from Top to Bottom.
Thanks for you hard work, Serfi! I really like what you've done
Thank you for your service.
Once in a lifetime experience to have been at this 🤩💖 If God sang he would sound like Thom Yorke 😭🙏
what a wounderful performance!
Lol, he did a Rowan Atkinson-like thingy at the intro of Suspirium; exaggerating the length of that artyfarty major chord over there with a look at the audience: 'you see that? Ya hear that?' 'Yes we do Thom, it is magnificent!! And you are hilarious too aside of a marvellous musical genius😃
Remember when there was a “MTV” that played music?
They had a show that was really important named “unplugged” I miss those days. A lot.
Yep @ristube, I miss MTV too - more than that I miss the 🎶 & cymbal rush I used to feel listening to Thom & Jonny - but this 102 minutes of listening to Thom left me feeling creepy. Hey, I’m really happy for the 99.9% of commenters that loved this concert & I ask them to remember “to each her own”…🎶
Te amo, Thom, eres un dios de la música, gracias por existir y darle sentido a muchas cosas.
I listened audio only and assumed it was some amazing gig some lucky so and so’s got to see..thank you! Brilliant…
what a true friend his art is in my life, thanks so much Thom!!!
Obviously a labor of love. Thank you again for all your hard work.
thank you very much, Serfi, the audio quality is amazing like your job! what a great experience
This is incredible. Thank you so, so, so, so, so, so, so much for all your hard work.
He is incredible
"Rabbit In Your Headlights" y "Spectre" en vivo Woooooooow ojala sean más habituales en sus Setlist.
Oh god, thank you for the work.
No need more of a piano for Thom Yorke, genius unplugged.
Thom yorke + une 12 cordes est juste fabuleux
Amazing job, by listening to this emotions can get through which is what makes this effort valuable.
