You should of taken off the brake caliper brackets from the caliper to properly replace the brake pads shims. You’re not supposed to bend any clips. Plus you need to grease the slider sine the grease inside does wear away.
I Would Never bend clips, also never ĥeard of putting Grease on back side of pads . You suppose to use Break pad spay , it's tacky so the brake pads don't move !

I’m having troubling getting the caliber back on, do you have a video for it?
Did you remove the brake master cylinder reservoir cap in the engine bay and compress the caliper piston back in?
